Cultural instruction should be more than just piñatas, mariachis, French bread, and the Eiffel Tower. We need to go to a little deeper-especially in the secondary grades (Ivers, 2007).

And it is all the reason all this is more than just teaching like this if it is not mentioned that we should help them relate through situations and a lesson plan in which they apply what they have learned.

We can be creative and likewise use technology to support us in teaching these cultural principles.

I will tell you an experience
I was learning French so the teacher decided to have a French-style picnic so we could learn and bring wine, cheese, bread, butter etc ... But he forbade us to carry chili because here in Mexico "if something does not itch it does not taste".

We only practiced the language really helped me learn a little more about the French culture and some cultural differences like eating bread and cheese .. for me, it was good to do some things but at the same time it did not make sense and we learned a little more about the culture French
Personally, as I students see everything differently and become more open.

Lesson 7 6/7/2018 : Cultural and Psychology.

When my family gatherings, we have the tradition of getting together and eating together but I always realize that my uncles have a preference for my brother all my life, that is the last memory that sometimes I fought a lot with them because of that very marked machismo about to be the favorite, they always gave him many things while I did not take much into account.

Really low self-esteem when I was 12 or 13 years old but then it does not take importance because my parents always loved us equally.
I would like to change in such a way that there is that equality that my parents always marked between him and me.

This happened because the man was always valued more than the woman and my grandmother always had that kind of psychology...
We are in the XXI century and all that is changing but in some cultures, they continue with that kind of psychology, so I believe it depends on us.
Another experience that gave me a lot of laughter is that my grandmother had beliefs like you never bar your house at night, or if you get stuck on your feet you will not get married ... I'll leave a video here...

Based on our own culture, we are growing and learning this type of psychology that helps us but there are people who can also leave behind that type of beliefs and that can affect a student that happens something that does not agree with their beliefs.
Really all this leads us to that we are all different from the place where we will be different. That is why it is important to inform us and not to offend easily or misinterpret.

Lesson 7:6/5/2018: Difference in Manners

We have internet is that a good thing and relief because it helps us learn more about other cultures and know what is good and bad in other parts of the world.
From eating, greeting, addressing a friend or adult etc ... So this time I will put an example of what is considered in my culture.
I remember that as missionaries, the sisters gave us food and when we finished the plate of food, we were offered more and we had to accept another dish because otherwise the family would be offended or think you did not like the food.
That is the reason why most of the missionaries who serve here in Mexico tend to get fat.
We are all different, so in this video, I will show what she faced about her education:

It really made me think about the way we see others, as teachers we must take care of what is bullying and the acceptance of others and help not to confuse the different ways, in case I think it was difficult for her.
Here my options:
Show a video of misunderstandings
Exhibitions of cultures
If it happens to pass some misunderstanding help to understand the reason why he did it
Talk with parents
If something similar happens in your classroom. What kind of options we can find?
As a teacher, it is more than being attentive that is to help them learn new cultures and have the curiosity to visit different places and when they do they will know what things they can do and adapt but as always the roots are carried inside of what we are.
We have been told about all this type of cultural changes and paradigms but we are again mentioned that we will face with one or two students from different cultures or even our classroom is full of cultural diversity.
Learning the different situations we can face helps me to know how I can solve them.
I would just like to quote what brother Iver cites the Asian culture:
"Asian students have positive comments about only two aspects of American life. Only two aspects! How we treat the physically handicapped, and our system of university education. "They admired how we treat the physically handicapped, and they admired our system of university education.
They said, "Regarding the physically handicapped, they were impressed how the disabled were given certain privileges, which gave them the courage to do things." And as far as another thing from this study, it said that "Asian students' most complimentary statements were addressed to the way classes provided students considerable opportunity for asking questions, engaging in critical thinking, and participating in a dialogue with the professor. Asian students overwhelmingly favored the classroom organization in the American university. "
We can imagine what our opinion would be if we were in their position, what kind of problems we would face that would provoke a different paradigm?
If we begin our life with our family as a parent as would my own son help him understand what is different? And correct?
As a teacher,
I would support my students to adapt and love others.
We must always take our role and help everyone to respect and love their neighbor by helping them adapt to the process of adaptation
It's interesting how when we go from one place to another they change so small and real aspects that's why it's very important.
It reminds me of a scripture that says that through small things the Lord confuses the wise ... so really when we do little things like motivating and teaching them and being friendly, it helps them adapt in their new life or accept others for what we do. It makes everyone different.

Lesson 6 06/01/2018 :Internal vs External Attribution

It is a way in which they begin to know all this type of attributions so I will mention these and some definitions found on the websites:

Internal Attributions assigns the causes of behavior to personal dispositions, traits, abilities, and feelings.

External Attributions assigns the causes of behavior to situational demands, and environmental constraint.

According to the internal, we do it personally and sometimes we get discouragement but something that has always been inculcated is to work with goals and think about how we can improve so that it does not happen negatively.
Externally it is different sometimes we blame someone for our faults but also our successes have their pros and cons but these help us to recognize the help of the people around us and even God but when we talk about something negative We blame someone.
Personally, I think we all face this type of ideology on a daily basis with the people we relate to, so we always try to help them think in the most positive way
According to the article, I am aware that we are facing a world of changing values where our students blame themselves or blame others according to their actions.
I would like to help my students to make goals in the classroom of what they expect to accomplish that will help them to afront their type of attribution.
The education is different from home and they learned about to recognize their own negatives and positives to attribution internal or external.
As we meet them, we could know what kind of think they believe like Karma etc...
This reminds me of the theory of Krashen talking about the affective filter that is mentioned that sometimes the student may have stress but I can have it personally because I do not achieve the desired qualification, that is why we should help them to think in both ways, positively and negatively but incorrect situations.
I will give them the inner motivation they need so they can see their potential as students and children of God.
As brother Iver mentions, Mexican culture tends to invade personal space because we are very friendly and sometimes that space during transport is seen as something very normal.
While reading this article according to the rules, it really made me laugh because it is like it really happens even though in my culture that not talking to anyone does not happen, sometimes we tend to talk with people we do not even know during public transport.
Personally, when I travel alone I usually bring that mentioned mask of no emotions.
I will tell you a little experience of misunderstanding
Recently a new girl joined us she is American and just greet her as we all kissed each other on the cheek here in Mexico,so she was impressed by what I did and clearly felt invaded ,so when the others arrived they greeted her with the same way ,she did it and understood that it was very normal.
How can I apply as a teacher?
We are aware that we all have our own bubbles just like our students.
When it is the first day of classes no one speaks or only know each other but as they go together they allow them to approach areas but when someone approaches their intimate zone they can be offended and start a fight we can talk with the kids to avoid these misunderstandings .
For me it would be important to teach a little about different cultures and customs or that even students from other cultures would explain a little about them.

Lesson 6 05/30/2018: Collective vs Individualism

I liked the examples of Brother Ivers in how he describes the individualistic and collective culture in a way that gives us a clear understanding that an individualistic culture was based on this example:
"We talked about American children, something good. How American children-at least I think it's good, that's my cultural opinion. American children are known throughout the world for having extra rights than many other children because they can express themselves, they can express their opinions to adults, they can make their own choices very often, okay, and that sort of thing, but that's rare. It exists in other countries too, but in most countries probably not."
So I agree that as teachers we will face the two individualistic and collective types so it is important that we understand this concept.
Here the differences

I consider that my country is individualistic but studies have been done where these results are shown is individualistic ..... as mentioned by brother Iver where we all rely on these points and we are only reminded of the consequences of our own actions I would only like to quote this.

An example of what might happen in the classroom is that a student who is of the collective culture will always seek to be the leader of the group and will always look for the welfare of others but when another individualist student confronts him he could be misunderstood because the other is based on his own decisions and does not care about the rest.
They form groups to do a project so student C starts to organize and give assignments the others follow him but when a student i I don´t work on his assignment because he did not like the topic they start to have a conflict where he talks to the teacher and tells him that it would be better if he could do it alone.
That could be a situation that could happen and it would be talking to both of them in such a way that they can work as a team.
It´s very interesting how the education in China works on test scores so I like the way this article describes it: "He imagines ways of teaching by which the individual strengths of every student are developed, not under pressure, but by their intrinsic motivation. He dreams of schools where the highest value is creativity, where students are encouraged to be, as he wrote in his last book, World Class Learners, “confident, curious, and creative.” Until we break free of standardized testing, this ideal will remain out of reach ."
I would like to focus on this idea because we are the instruments to help our students be the highest value is creativity, curious and confident.
Only last I would like to ask some questions how can I help my students have another perspective to be individualists?
Can you have both at the same time?
Can you find a situation from which individualism becomes coll
Brother Ivers define like emotional expressivity is one of the things that is more easily misunderstood than many other things in cross-cultural differences. It's very, very easy to interpret different ranges—to misinterpret different ranges of emotional expressivity.

According to video, he said: "you have kind of Hispanic culture —high tolerance for emotional expressivity in public."

As Mexicans, we tend to express our emotions very easily in public when it comes to affection, happiness, emotion, etc. Even sometimes anger or sad

ness but I clarify that we do not all show that part but we try to express the good feelings.

Personally, I consider that I am not a person that likes to be sad but I love showing people that I love and love them. On one occasion my friend told me that Why you always smiled and was very happy? I just said I see the positive of my day.

I would like to add a little story that gives place when the Second World War is over and this is the little story:

It's about the kiss that marked the end of the Second World War and here is:

Suddenly, a sailor grabbed me. It was not so much a kiss as an act of celebration: he no longer had to return to the Pacific, to the front where he had fought. He took me in his arms because he saw me dressed like a nurse and was grateful to all the nurses. It was not romantic, but a way of saying: 'Thank God, the war is over,' Greta said 60 years later. "I had gone with a friend to a show at Radio City Hall when they interrupted to say that the war was over. I went outside, I was exultant, I saw a nurse and I kissed her out of pure joy, "Mendonsa would remember.

Maybe it was not a demonstration of love between them but it was historical because of their joy in ending the war.

How can I apply it?

Dynamic Love

I would like to get to know them in such a way that they not only see me as another teacher but that they really remember me.

It's like when we were little we were born with those emotions and we began to discover each one of them in such a way that our character is formed. I would just like to give an example of how a child is.

While playing with her toys she is smiling and laughing but if her older brother arrives she takes off her toys she gets angry and says to her mother or cries but I have always admired that after she returns it, the child plays with her older brother and smiles. When we are small we naturally express our feelings but as we grow we are changing according to what is right in our culture or not.

During my mission, I had an American companion and she used to be quiet and it was a shame to speak the new language so we began to become more friends and I remember that she began to express her feelings that I could know when she was sad or happy. Question is angry? At first, she smiled but then laughed at that question.

I do not say that we are all like that but we all have a personality, some of us are very expressive, others hide them, but each one has the influence of their own culture.

"Miscommunication is rampant between cultures. And it causes a lot of difficulties; it may even cause wars. It can cause murders, it can cause sexual assaults, it can cause a lot of different terrible things. And so, it is very important to understand that miscommunication is always a big possibility"

I completely agree that we must understand the different cultural miscommunication as mentioned in the video.
The story of this Japanese child who always maintains humility and where he did not like to be on the student wall of the week seems funny but everything has to do with your culture.
Really all this that has been taught to us prepares us personally to open our minds according to all our students are different and we must learn from them and not misinterpret.
I would like to prepare a lesson plan based on this cultural difference so that they can learn more, where students can experience that curiosity of knowing some places and traditions. The most important thing is that there is always gender equity and that love also for others.
I remember when I was a little girl I always had the idea that just exists Mexico but I was learning more and more, besides all the expressions were the same that was my thought, but as one grows and learns more about all this comes to be surprised in such a way that you have a little bit of wanting to visit some places.
When I travel to France, I remember that when you tried to speak in their language they were flattered and happy but when they tried to speak English, they were even rude and just said NOOOOO NOOOO and ran away that was a sad expression for me.
If I ever meet students from different places, I would like to hold a meeting with parents to explain this topic so that in the future there will not be any problems.
When I saw this video it really impressed me that it is really right in the way that cultural differences in time are based on monochromic and polychromic.

I realized that we should know what culture our country is based on and how it works.

I would just like to base myself on a movie called "Radio called me" in this film about a young man with a little delay walking around a school but there were times when some of the football team tied him up.

The coach he gave account and punishment to his students for what they had done then there comes a time where the teacher begins to be interested in him and invites him to the team to help train them

In this film, I see how the coach begins to take his role in polychromic when he begins to help and be interested and see how other teachers are against him as some parents and all begin to love radio so much that they left him in school as an assistant.

I realized that I changed from monochromic to polychrome, the result was impressive and beautiful, as well as a good gesture of love, I recommend that you see it based on real events.

Characteristics of Monochromic

· Time Flies

· Set Clocks

Polychromic

· Time is flexible

· Relationship-based

· “Island Time”

In Mexico, it is based on polyconic where the student's family and emotional relationships are sought to go well and their development grows in education.

It is important to know what kind of culture is base on how we can apply our class as teachers to our students when they are based on this type of culture.

I have seen how some teachers are based on the relationships they have even to give better grades that are sad but we really should try to adopt a bit of monochromic culture to carry out all the rules and not only based on the relationships as a student I saw it very bad

I want to really apply what the student deserves according to their own knowledge, in that they can understand that not only to get along with the student or parents will have a favorite place or some benefit.

This topic made me think about how according to our culture we have different ideas of a single concept like what is mentioned in the first video: "But you have all these paradigms in your head. You have a paradigm for what is a rock, what is a tree, and all these more complex paradigms. "

It's amazing how just changing from one small country to another change radically in such a way as this woman mentioned when she was in Africa She had a legitimate fear because the spread of AIDS in Africa It was considered to be beautiful and gave great value to herself when she crossed into America.
What it´s education?
Training aimed at developing the intellectual, moral and emotional capacity of people in accordance with the culture and norms of coexistence of the society to which they belong.
That is the definition is where they develop emotionally and intellectually according to their culture
What is a teacher?
A teacher is a person in charge of the intellectual, moral and emotional development of a student

So great responsibility and blessing, so the great teacher is still alive and he is the one who strives for his students to reach their divine potential

I am sure that each teacher has something to contribute to their students but sometimes they focus only on teaching and not on the progress of each one of their students, just as the enthusiasm goes down little by little until they no longer have the desire to attend the class
During my life, I have met teachers who only focus on what they teach that what they learn as mentioned in my gospel preach focus on people and not on lessons so it is the same for us I feel fortunate to have the opportunity in the future apply all these principles
Once my father told me how was the education where the teacher also disciplined and learned . He told a litte experiencie that he always remember where their teacher give courage to go and discipline .
There are paradigms that say that the great master died but really, I have always thought that the key is love enthusiasm.
In Latin America, it is sought to implement technology so that students have a better development and as mentioned that we are already digitized where students need to take a bigger step than what they give.
I have noticed during the time as it is implemented but every time the technology goes a step further than we

We are also invited to know more about our students in such a way that they will progress and develop their linguistic skills,so I am sure that the great teacher has not died if he has not been resurrected to implement the technology and personalization of teaching.

There are many ways of thinking but I'm going to work with young or small students they will someday face this kind of ideology where they will grow with great remember

It is very clear that we all have a different way of seeing according to the point where we observe.

It is important that our students know the ways of seeing different education go to the future.
It is good to learn the culture of others and ways of education apply it !that we can even put into practice depending on the benefit that we personally for our class.
Personally, I would like to apply this type of teaching be enthusiastic and the great teacher live!

We have the power to break those barriers and finally, I would like to just ask a small question how can I help my students with technology in their progress?

5/02/18 Lesson 1 Is the Great American Teacher Dead?

A small question that leads to many factors of educational quality, while reading this article came to mind the importance of teaching and the great impact that can be achieved in students as mentioned in this article:

"Are many walking that road with a self-assurance supported by

years of positive feedback, informal and formal assessments,

and heartening student outcomes? Or, remove possibly, are

many walking that road with an unjustified spring in their

step not realizing they have just bored their students to tears? "

So let's evaluate a little about teaching.

In different parts of the world are different types of teaching but the purpose is the same learn but I know that working with our students is 50 and 50 so I will talk a little about the points mentioned:

Making Things Meaningful

"Students remember meaning before details" During my life I have met many teachers but those who inspired me helped me to remember the meaning of what I learned and I would like to quote: "Teachers should not fear to be a little more exciting, a little more courageous, a little more entertaining, a little more stimulating, and a little more inspiring. If one believes he or she is engaged in a great work, one's comportment and bearing need to be proportionately reflective "

The Need to Go Deep Metacognition and the Great Teacher .- I summarize to reflection and thinking about thinking means when someone

Transformative Education "This mode of learning is replete with deep, personal reflection; the reflection that potentially pushes back the parameters of reality "means consider aspects of personal reflection, society and believes.

Cultural Self-Examination.- We are all from different places and by default, we tend to acquire emotions from our own culture so I would define it as believing in yourself.

Mining the Rich Cross-Cultural Landscape.-"Speaking of cultural differences, researchers have discovered a positive correlation between human achievement and being raised in an environment that is rich in cultural diversity"

We are all different and we have different ways of learning in such a way that when the teacher occupies the attention of the students in different ways they will continue learning, for my opinion you will never find the perfect way to teach yourself but if the best you can .Every day we grow in a world full of changes and technology that changes the life around us and ours, so every day the type of teaching is renewed but when the goal is given and the teacher becomes the best teacher because he loves what he does and he is humble when receiving comments where he can improve.

I have always admired the dedication of a teacher towards his students. It is not easy but when we apply these principles we can meet some challenges according to the culture and age but will achieve progress in the same teacher "The Great Teacher".

We will not only achieve small things, but also miracles.
