Some food for thought...

DO you eat to live or live to eat?

I'd say it's a bit of both for me, but food is definitely up there with my favourite pastimes.

Electric dreams?

So there I was, standing at the petrol pump the other day, watching the pounds and pence display careering towards the fifty pound mark. Eek. It's enough to give you palpitations.

Gas is guzzling our cash like never before, the price hikes are neverending for us motorists - and there's more woe to come on the forecourts, with another rise due before the month is out.

A green way to slash your fuel bills?

I WOULDN'T say I'm a dark greenie - far from it - if I'm honest, there's a lot more I could do to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

But a little cash incentive promised by the Government has got me thinking.

Government's green carrots could mean it pays to be eco friendly

Does the thought of being paid to go green sound tempting to you?

Tax breaks and monetary motivators are being brought in by the Government to help us Teessiders realise the UK's carbon reduction goal.

Climate change - it's everywhere!

WE'D hardly heard of it just a few short years ago, but the phrase 'climate change' seems to be everywhere nowadays.

From recycling at home, food packaging labels at the supermarket to newspaper headlines, even the TV - these days hardly an ad-break goes by without some mention of global warming.

There is such a lot going on in the Tees Valley to tackle the problem. Thanks to the Go Green campaign, we regularly try to bring you updates on all the innovative ideas that are making this region a greener place to live.

And over the coming weeks, Gazettelive will bring you the environmental views of our eco bloggers - from green gurus to the man on the street.
