Wondering if I should buy an Iphone 4S or wait for the Iphone 5 instead of just staying with Android. iOS and iPhone is a great phone and less prone to Malware than Android because it is less open-source but Android phones have more choice in terms of manufacturers. I will buy the new Android phone What do you think Tweet me Google Plus

DirecTV HD Guide Update

DirecTV changed their guide to a new full HD format style. It has a better design and it looks great. However it does not show channel logos in the full guide and adverts are still appears in the middle of some entries of the guide . The guide is great and very fast. You can force download a beta version at the moment while a full rollout occurs. Compared to the new Dish Network guide which is only on VIP 922, this guide is great and very slick. It also has apps which allow tweeting and update of status while watching TV.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving. My 200th post. A huge thank you to all who viwed my blog, tweeted me and commented on my Youtube Channel. Below is a look at some of the commercials form this year's Thanksgiving.
Kohls
This years Kohls have used the popular culture of viral video to add music to their commercial. The company has used Rebecca Black's Friday song to make a quite annoying commercial of a women shopping from AM to PM.

Target

The bullseye bought back the Christmas Champ commericals from last year. As you can see there are many in the series. To see them just click on the youtube logo The Target commericals have been used for years and will be used again for Christmas

Wal-Mart

Wal-mart has added a playlsit of all the commercials on Youtube The Wal-Mart commercials are great and informs the viewers that since it is open 24/7 you do not have to wait outside like other stores and the offers start at 10PM Thanksgiving night

Kmart

The commercials a general theme of home and kitchen. Sears/kmart still uses the old kmart logo for some of the promotions.

Happy 1st of the month. This is my 200th post on my blog. Thanks for the recent coments

I can't believe it is September already. TOMTOM has introduced new "connected services" allow users to tweet and check gas prices on the go. This is competing with Garmin and Toyota new services which allow users to check Facebook and gas prices as well as search on Google. The service is very easy to use and good for the user to find quickly the nearest gas stations. .

The new Toyota Yaris 2011 has been launched. It will have the same design worldwide and the same spec. More information at toyota.com/yaris or toyota.co.uk/yaris. The new Yaris has a all -new touch screen system which provide audio,bluetooth and navigation options. The full-screen navigation is free until November. It is a great little car with a 1.33 litre engine. The road tax is in band B and it handles well. A detailed review can be found here

Dartford crossing and Summer 2011

Hope everyone had a great summer. I went over Dartford crossing this weekend using car only lane. Paid required £1.50 and the barrier did not open. Paid again and still not open. After 4 mins the Highways Agency officer came and opened it. Why can't they upgrade the equipment. Nice crossing overall except for toll

Android 2.3 GINGERBREAD Update

Today I updated my Android HTC phone to Gingerbread android 2.3 version. The phone force closed twice but it is fasater and has a better applications menu broked up into all apps, favs and downloaded. The phone also has faster performance and better battery life. The battery use section has a new usage graph.

AT&T's deal for acquiring T-Mobile usa means that the company will increase their presence in the south of the U.S which may lead to increase network coverage. As a T-Mobile customer I think that the deal is bad for the company because of AT&T's bad customer service and the marketing campaigns.

I have owned my android phone for about a week and can see that the battery life is poor even in only 4 or 5 widgets on the home screens and a black static wallpaper. I enjoy the phone a lot. It has the same spec as EVO or Inspire 4G. I can just take all my contacts from Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin with adding them manually into the phone but the only disadvantage is the battery life and poor built quality of the usb cables. Overall the phone is excellent build quality and like a mini computer

Comparing it with my old Nokia 5800, it surpass my expectations and I love every minute I use it compared with the small screen size of the 5800. My new android phone also can play any video format I want. The android phone is a bit heavy than the 5800 due to being made out of a solid piece of metal. Games look amazing on the large screen compared with the small 3.7in screen of the 5800. The bulid quality is a bit better than the Desire HD such as the battery cover not breaking after two days of use. Software used by the 5800 is the Symbain Version 3 and desire hd runs Android 2.2 with update to 2.3 coming soon.

UK has allowed product placement on any programme produced in the UK. The viewers will know if there is product placement when a P logo is shown at the start and end of the programme.

Twitter has updated their Android app.
It now has the following changes

Timeline now maintains its position when you exit/enter the app.
Tapping on a map thumbnail now opens to a full screen map.
Fixed crashes when in landscape mode.
App refreshes with latest Tweets upon launch.
Other various bug fixes.

The stock Youtube app got an update to allow anyone to view music videos just be searching for the song. This is handy for anyone who is outside the U.S or Canada who can download or access the VEVO app More information about the VEVO app here

In order to make use of the videos though your device needs to be running Android 2.2 or higher. Most of what has changed is simple UI enhancements to offer better ways of finding and discovering music videos and artists:

Music videos are now clearly marked with a ‘music note’ badge
While enjoying the video you can read ‘artist bio’
It’s easy to discover more tracks from the same artist using ‘artist tracks’ tab
You’ll find similar cool bands on the ‘related artists’ tab

TMobile UK cutting data usage limit to 500MB for new and upgrading customers only

T-Mobile will not charge its customers additional rates for exceeding these data limits, and those who do will still be able to access important services such as email and website browsing, but will have file downloading restricted. Customers who have a need for higher volumes of data will be encouraged to take up a separate mobile broadband plan. USTREAM has now combined the viwer and broadcaster apps into to one single app with a size of about 3.4MB. The new app has a new icon and all new UI. Once the app is launched a window with options to see your videos, start a new broadcast or view content will be shown.

USTREAM for getting a head start on the competition by making this new app. Hopefully I will be broadcasting more videos on my own channel. I will be broadcasting from my phone on my own QIK and Justin.tv Channels

Android market now has over 100,000 Apps

The Android Market has more than 100,000 apps that are actively downloaded. While the official count was previously 90,000 apps, the Android developer Twitter account has confirmed that the Market that there are 100,000 apps to choose from.

The growing rate of interest in development has helped accelerate Android’s adoption. While Android still trails Apple’s 300,000 number of apps, there are more than enough apps to help Google gain a foothold in the ultra-competitive mobile sector faster than anticipated.

“It’s well past anything I could have hoped for,” Google CEO Eric Schmidt said about Android’s success during Google’s recent earnings call.

Of course, a 100,000 app Android Market is 999,950 apps more than you’ll probably need. There’s plenty of crap in the market – as there are in every OS app store or any place where products are sold – that people will never care to download. However, this number represents the large amount of choices available in the Market and signals that more are on the way.
