“Vampire Bella is badass!” Noel Fisher, 28, who plays Romanian vampire Vladimir in the film, told us last night at the Hollywood Reporter’s premiere of the new History Channel miniseries Hatfields & McCoys.

And it has a lot to do with her eyes—her fake red eyes, that is.

“I think one of the cool things about becoming a vampire is that the contacts really just add this whole other thing to it,” Fisher said. “You catch glimpses of yourself walking by in a window and you’re like, ‘Ah! Oh, God!’ Oh wait, they’re contacts.”

FilmNation has picked up almost worldwide rights for the film The Rover, which will star Robert Pattinson and shoot later this year. The film was selling at Cannes and, according to Deadline, has all but sold out. More details about the plot have been revealed:

The Rover is set in the Australian desert in a dangerous and dysfunctional near future. Eric has left everything and every semblance of human kindness behind him. When his last possession, his car, is stolen by a gang of dangerous criminals, Eric sets off to track them down and is forced along the way to enlist the help of Reynolds, the naïve simpleton member of the gang left behind in the bloody chaos of the gang’s most recent escape.

At this point, we know Rob is playing one of the criminals, but, as far as I know, it is unknown if he is the “simpleton” mentioned above. The film will also star Guy Pearce.

The interview was done in a private club in Sunset Boulevard.

He hid his intense beauty under a baseball cap, a blonde scruff, a lumberkjack shirt, a white tee and washed out jeans. They had the interview on the terrace where he could light up his cigarettes.

Between light coughs and nervous laughs, he explains that he doesn’t feel at home here.

His dream is to work in a black comedy of Todd Solodnz or in dramas for men by James Gray or Jacques Audiard.

“I was scared of being cut off from the art-house cinema that I always felt passionate about. I was scared to never be asked to play in anything interesting, that my life would pass and that someone would ask me one day, ‘so apart from Twilight, what did you do?’. In this industry, you’re easily typecast”

“I never proved anything, I was never fooled by the hysteria that surrounds me. It’s the character that I play, Edward Cullen, the romantic vampire. Besides, before the movie was even made, girls would screams at Stephenie Meyer’s public readings.”

When he got the script for Cosmopolis: He got the fear of the beginner/novice. ”I was so scared I would screw this up that I spent a week trying to find a way to refuse the job. And then I told myself that I shouldn’t be so stuck-up. My agent was nervous: ‘why would you accept if you don’t understand it?’. I confessed my confusion to David and he liked it. I think that might be why he hired me. Most actors would have try to act cooler, try to say something smart but I was completely lost.”

Cronenberg said that the actor didn’t come on set with his hands in his pockets. That he’s an assiduous reader, who’s been interested in the character of the ‘golden boy’ for a long while, one who’s close to the one he portrays in Cosmopolis. ’Money’ by Martin Amis – which describes the giddy heights of easy money and the chic hedonism – is one of his bedtime readings. He finds so many similarities with himself in the empty space of the star system, that he wrote how own version of the novel, in hopes of playing it one day.

“I thought about it for Cosmopolis of course but the characters are too different and Cronenberg prefered that I knew nothing. He wanted me to give in, to say my lines in almost an abstract way, like poetry. It was exciting and a little scary. Today I’m nervous about the idea of having to talk to an audience about a movie that stays dark. But Cronenberg, himself, wanted to have something that escapes him. He would tell me about Fellini and say that a filmmaker that has a goal is dead already. It’s so much more interesting than to know right away where an artist is gonna take you. Plus, its’ the first time I really like one of the movies I make.”

The character discovered the joys of sex (We had to wait for the 4th movie, we imagine it was faster for Kristen), She lived fully her love for a vampire (Stewart can no longer deny her real life relationship with Robert Pattinson, her better half on screen), & went through loneliness & wickedness. As for the actress herself, she had her transition to adulthood under the spotlight. She was 18 during the first movie. Now, she’s 22, still appears to be a teenager, and kept in her voice that tone of cool distrust that clashes within a Hollwood densely populated by robotic pin-ups, and today, she has that look in her eyes, of someone that is determined, self-willed. But we see something surprising as well, someone sexy. During our photoshoot in the mountains of Topanga Canyon overlooking the beaches of Malibu, the actress is a ease & strikes a pose with that detached & wild look that is her trademark. A break, while we wait for the sun to set, & we we settle down with a few cigarettes to talk about the movie that promises to be a turning point in her career. She knows it and she talks about it with passion; “One The Road” is the role of her – young – life. “When Walter Salles chose me to play Marylou,” she remembers, “I was 16. It was my favorite book, the role that I couldn’t pass up.” Brought up in Los Angeles by a father who is a TV Producer & mother who is a screen writer, Kristen Stewart “grew up on set”. “I was always roaming around, and I was dreaming for a job that would allow me to be part of the process. It led me to be an actress, totally by accient. It’s on the job while working with amazing directors that I learned to like it.” She is 11 when David Fincher lets her play Jodie Foster’s young daughter in “Panic Room”, she’s is 17 when Sean Penn gives her a small role in “Into The Wild”. She was an actress for so many years before she became a star, and the transition was not easy. “The first few times I was recognized in the street, it was a complete surprise,” she says. “It may sound naive, but until “Twilight,” the ‘celebrity aspect’ of the job had completely escaped me. I suddenly found myself facing this unhealthy interest that relates more to the “pop culture” than to movies; people come to ask you for a picture or an autograph because they saw you on the cover of a gossip magazing, but they have no idea what movies you were you were in. This is disturbing. “

CANNES – Canadian distributor VVS Films has picked up cop thriller Ten starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The deal was negotiated between Ernie and Harry Grivakis of VVS Films andBill Block and John Friedberg of QED, which are financing and producing the film. David Ayer, who helmed Street Kings (2008) and the upcoming cop drama End of Watch with Jake Gyllenhaal, is attached to direct. VVS also has End of Watch in Canada. Open Road recently picked up Ten for release in the U.S.

Premiere: What made you go back to Cannes with Cosmopolis?

David Cronenberg: The festival and I have a long history. In a sense I have the feeling of coming home. I think it is an ideal film for Cannes and I’m excited about the idea of having ​​Rob with me.

Q: Today it is impossible to imagine someone for this part. However, you offered it before to Colin Farrell …

DC: When Colin left the project to film the remake of Total Recall, it made me rethink everything. Anyway he was too old for the part: he’s 35 and I wanted to be faithful to the book, it was necessary to have 25 year old actor. Then I started to check all the actors of that age and that’s how I thought of Rob. I had seen him in Twilight, of course, but nothing he had done so far really predisposed him to act in Cosmopolis. Even tho you choose an actor by the perceived potential you see in him and not by his resume. And the more I thought aout it, the more I liked the idea.

Q: Did he went through an audition?

DC: No. We talked a lot on the phone. Rob is not one of those people with a big ego. He really wanted to make the movie, but seriously wondered if he could. It was his only concern. He said “do you really think I’m good enough to play this part? I’m afraid to ruin your movie.” I told him that this conversation more than convinced me that he was perfect for Cosmopolis.

Q: It’s hard to imagine you watching Twilight. Have you seen all four movies?

DC: (laughs). No, not really. I must have seen one and a half.

Q: The saga has made him a star, but has also created an absurd situation: people who have not seen him act shout that he is an idol for young girls, and lacking any talent.

DC: This reflects the world we live in today, where the Internet, among other things, promotes this kind of hasty and dangerous judgement. I ignore them and try to see beyond. The advantage is that Rob’s fans are waiting for the moment when he will show everyone that he is able to exist beyond Twilight. And if they’re all going to see Cosmopolis, I don’t worry about the future of the film.

Q: How did the other actors react when you told them that Robert Pattinson would have the lead role?

DC: Paul Giamatti, who was one of the first actors to join the cast, thought it was a brilliant idea. I’m not sure if Juliette Binoche could have weighed the popularity of Rob when she signed for the film, but none of them expressed doubt or contempt about him. Nobody told me: “What the hell were you thinking when you hired the guy from Twilight?” Quite the contrary. In fact, I caught Rob and Juliette having very deep conversations about French cinema. They got along really well.

Q: Do you have in mind a particular scene in which he has impressed you.

DC: By the end of the shoot, he was so into his role that we would only do one or two takes per shot. And he surprised every time by the way he managed to secure all the emotions that were at stake. He was completely impregnated with the loneliness and pain of the character. Because we shot the film more or less in chronological order, the final scene we shot was the last. And I just needed to do one take because of how perfect Rob and Paul were. When I said “cut” all crew members looked stunned by what had just happened.

Q: Seeing Robert Pattinson in the movie, you immediately think of Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt, who were teen idols before they could really show their potential when directed by Tim Burton and David Fincher …

DC: Some actors become stars thanks to their pretty faces and a charisma that comes off well on the screen. At first, they’re rarely offered the opportunity to show more than that. But it happens that they only have this to show… With Cosmopolis I was proud to give Rob a chance to prove the ability of his talent. If he does well, I see him having, with no difficulty, a career like Johnny Depp’s or Brad Pitt’s. Or maybe even better.

In a new interview, Billy Burke talks with Zap2It about his new J.J. Abrams TV show Revolution that was picked up by NBC. You can check out the video interview here.

“I don’t think people will be confused in the slightest watching it,” he says. “For some reason, all forms of energy and power go out. Fifteen years later, people are trying to get along and trying to figure out how to reconnect and how to form new societies without any of those benefits. We cut back and forth a little bit in time, but it’s all pretty linear and very easy to follow and highly entertaining.”

Noel Fisher was interviewed by Purple Revolver about Twilight and Shameless.

Purple Revolver: How was it joining a group of actors who had worked on so many of the Twilight films already?

Noel Fisher: “It’s been a very welcoming expereince. There were so many people who were veterans of the series and who had already created a kind of family, but they were all very good at welcoming all the newbies.

“But the other good thing was that were so many new people joining the cast it was kind of like having a whole new family joining.”

PR: Did you feel any pressure taking on a role in a series that has been so hugely popular and scrutinized?

NF: “More than pressure there was a feeling of not quite believing that it had happened.”

PR: So are you ready for all the Twilight mania then?

NF: “I think so. There is a massive, dedicated fan base, but my experience of them so far has been very welcoming too and very supportive.

According to Screen Daily :

Shooting is underway in London on Vertigo Films’ Viking story Hammer of the Gods, the debut from Farren Blackburn.

Set in Viking Britain in 871 AD, Hammer of the Gods is described as “a visceral, intense tale set in a world whose only language is violence”.  The film will follow a young Viking warrior, Steinar (Charlie Bewley), sent by his father the King on a quest to find his estranged brother.

Charlie Bewley (Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 2, Like Crazy) stars as Steiner, aslongside Ivan Kaye (Layer Cake, Dark Shadows) and James Cosmo (Braveheart, Game Of Thrones). Matthew Read has written the script.

Blackburn’s recent TV credits include The Fadesand 2011 Doctor Who Christmas special The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe.

Protagonist are on board for international sales.

Producer Rupert Preston said of the project: “This will be an exciting, barbaric, stylish and heroic film that will entertain genre fans around the world.”

The six week shoot will take place in London and Wales.
