How Michael Dyer's commitment to Auburn affects Marcus Lattimore

Michael Dyer, one of the top-ranked tailbacks in America, committed to Auburn on Friday. Dyer, from Little Rock Christian in Little Rock, Ark., is considered the No. 1 running back in the country by ESPN, and No. 3 by Scout.com and Rivals.com. The big question is how Dyer’s commitment will affect the nation’s other top-rated backs. Marcus Lattimore of Duncan, S.C., and Lache Seastrunk of Temple, Texas, ranked 1 and 2 by the other services, were also considering Auburn. The general thought was that two backs of that ilk wouldn’t go to the same school.

Defensive back commits to UNC

Jabari Price has changed his mind about where he wants to play college football and will head to North Carolina instead of Minnesota. Price, a 5-11, 170-pound senior at Ely High in Pompano Beach, Fla., committed to UNC on Tuesday night. He had committed to Minnesota earlier but had second thoughts and re-opened the recruiting process. He also considered Rutgers.

For the third week in a row, Miami has had significant activity on the recruiting trail. This week two running backs, Eduardo Clements and Storm Johnson, committed. The Hurricanes also beat out Florida State for safety Greg Dent. That’s 22 commitments already for Miami, if you’re scoring at home. North Carolina got a commitment from three-star defensive back Jabari Price from Pompano Beach, Fla. The Tar Heels reportedly got Price to switch his loyalty from Minnesota to UNC.

Lucky Radley visiting UNC this weekend

ATH Lucky Radley (5-11 185) of Woodland Hills, CA will take his first official visit this weekend to North Carolina. His mother and younger brother will join him on the trip. Radley has not set any other visits but wants to schedule one with South Carolina. He plans to call recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. Wednesday. Radley said he's getting daily, handwritten mail from Gamecock coaches.

He has good speed, he can run through blocks, and you can see him in action here on ScoutTV. Recruiting: Perryman is one of the most highly recruited linebackers in the South right now. Has well over a dozen scholarship offers from schools such as Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Miami is the school all are chasing at this time.

DE Tim Jackson narrows list to 8

Heralded DE Tim Jackson has narrowed his list of potential schools to eight. Here’s who made the cut (in alphabetical order): Iowa State, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Stanford, USF, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. In all, Jackson has scholarship offers from 18 schools. Jackson has already visited Wake Forest, and plans to trip to Stanford in late November. He also expects to visit Ole Miss and UNC, meaning the other schools on his list will try to score his final trip.

Auburn impresses Marcus Lattimore during official visit

ESPNU 150 running back Marcus Lattimore (Duncan, S.C./Byrnes) spoke with ESPN affiliate Web site AuburnUndercover.com following his official visit to campus. "I really can see myself playing here. The running back situation is really good for me. Ben Tate will be leaving, going to the NFL. And I will be trying to take his spot if I come in." Lattimore is slated to make an official visit to Penn State next weekend. The highly-touted ball-carrier is also still considering South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida State and Georgia.

O.J. Ross commits to Purdue

The Orlando Sentinel and ESPN.com reported Monday night that Daytona Beach Mainland teammates Ricardo Allen, Chevin Davis and O.J. Ross have committed to play football at Purdue. Allen is a 5-foot-9, 168-pound cornerback, Davis a 6-1, 175-pound receiver and Ross a 5-10, 175-pound receiver. Ross is a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com and ESPN.com. All three visited Purdue on Oct. 17 and saw the Boilermakers upset Ohio State. Ross (6th) and Allen (8th) are rated in the top 10 of the Sentinel's Central Florida Top 50 for the Class of 2010.

UVA makes a push for Aramide Olaniyan

ESPNU150 linebacker Aramide Olaniyan (Woodberry Forest, Va./Woodberry Forest) made an official visit to Virginia during the weekend. Olaniyan said that the Cavs firmed up their scholarship offer to him, and that Virginia is now making a push into the top group with Duke, North Carolina, Michigan and UCLA. The news here, though, is that an old favorite has worked its way back into the mix.

Marcus Lattimore gives Auburn high marks on recruiting visit

Top-notch high school running back Marcus Lattimore says he doesn't have a leader for his college services, but said Sunday that Auburn will remain one of his favorites. Auburn, he said, is "going to be there at the end, I'll tell you that.'' Lattimore made his official visit to Auburn, and got to see the Tigers beat Ole Miss 33-20 Saturday. "The whole weekend was great,'' said Lattimore.

RB Storm Johnson commits to Miami Hurricanes

It was only fitting that a guy named Storm would end up a Hurricane. Storm Johnson, a Loganville tailback and one of the top rushers in the state, committed to the University of Miami on Sunday. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound senior made the decision without ever seeing the Hurricanes’ Coral Gables campus. He’ll do that during an official visit on Dec. 12. Johnson said he chose Miami over Michigan State and Oregon, in that order. Florida State, Kentucky, Alabama, North Carolina and N.C. State also were recruiting him.

Sharrif Floyd weighs options

It's hasn't been a bed of roses for the player that has the likes of USC, Florida, Ohio State gushing over him. Sharrif Floyd said his biological father, shot outside of his grandmother's home, died a few days before he was born. He said he talks to his mother regularly by phone, but does not see her on a regular basis. She came out to watch the Eagles' 28-6 win over archrival Frankford at Northeast on Oct. 10.

RB Storm Johnson of Loganville, Ga., has named his final five schools and Miami is still in the hunt, while Florida State looks to be out in the cold. Johnson told ESPN affiliate Oregon Web site DuckTerritory.com that his list has been whittled down to Miami, Michigan State, North Carolina, Oregon and Penn State. The 6-foot-1, 217-pound bruiser was set to commit to LSU until the Tigers pulled their controversial offer after getting other commitments athletes who can play quarterback.

Next weekend, I might head to Penn State for an unofficial visit. The Nittany Lions play the Buckeyes and it should be a crazy game and a full white-out. And I want to end with this with my top five. Can I have a drum roll please? In no particular order, they are: Florida, Ohio State, North Carolina, South Carolina and USC. We'll see which one of these is picture perfect.

Marcus Lattimore Determines Third Official Visit

Byrnes RB Marcus Lattimore (6-0 210) will take his first official visit this weekend to Auburn. Official visit #2 will be the following weekend to Penn State. And Tuesday night Lattimore said he had decided on a third official visit. "Oregon, most likely January 16th," Lattimore said. "I don't know the other two yet." That leaves two official visits to fill with four schools still on Lattimore's list...USC and North Carolina are firmly on the list while Georgia and Florida State remain on the list as possibilities.

Originally from Baltimore, Md., Dorsey is also holding offers from Ole Miss, North Carolina, Mississippi State, Iowa State, Michigan, Oklahoma State, South Florida and Tennessee amongst others. The 6-foot-7, 250-pounder has also made an official visit to Ole Miss and has a date scheduled with North Carolina.

"My final five schools in order are Miami, Michigan State, North Carolina, Oregon, and Penn State. I think I'm visiting Miami December 12th, and North Carolina pretty soon. My dad takes care of most of the visit dates and stuff like that so I'm not too sure. The ship is really moving fast right now, it's been quite a ride." He continued, "I plan to enroll early. I would like to have my decision made by early December."

For the third straight week Miami has landed a commitment. Maybe the national attention is catching some eyes. This week it’s David Perry, a defensive end out of Ft. Lauderdale. He received three stars from both Rivals.com and Scout.com. In other commitment signings, Duke added outside linebacker Clerance France from Columbus, Georgia making it 14 signed overall for the Blue Devils.

DE Kareem Martin playing multiple roles

Defensive end target Kareem Martin is playing multiple roles for his Roanoke Rapids team, according to a report by the paysite Inside Carolina. In a recent game the 6-foot-6, 250-pound senior played defensive end, defensive tackle, tight end and fullback in goal-line situations reporter. Martin contributed to three of five turnovers by the opposing team, forcing two fumbles, recovering one and tipping a pass that was intercepted by a teammate. Martin is considering North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Duke in addition to the Yellow Jackets.
