Machmal schwanken wir einfach zwischen Subjekt und Objekt, und bei einer künstlicher
Schicht bleiben.

TING - JUNG CHEN born 1985 in Taiwan Taipei. She is gratuated from National Taiwan Universarty, Philosophy, now based in Germany Hamburg and and studying stage design and sculptur in Art Academy Hamburg (HFBK Hamburg).

tamtamART will be in winter break from 25th December 2011 to 15th January 2012.
Next exhibition will be on 27th January 2012.

tamtamART is pleased to present “1 + 1 = 11”, a Takt goup show curated by Weronika
Trojanska (PL). The exhibition will open on Dec 9. and will be on view until Dec 17.

Eleven. One beyond ten and one below twelve. The first number which cannot be counted
by human fingers. Stays the same written upside down. Indicates hour before midnight - the
last possible moment to take care of something. Posses the qualities of intuition, patience,
honesty, sensitivity and spirituality. The number of years in which the sun spot cycle repeats.
The length of the largest cat Siberian Tiger. The quantity of dimensions which may exist in
the universe. Number of players on the field in games such as soccer, cricket or American
football. The distance from the deepest point of the ocean floor to the bottom of the Mariana
Trench. Speed in kilometers per second at which the rocket must travel to escape the
Earth’s gravity. Weight in ounces of the average adult male heart. The hour, day and month
of the date the World War I ended. The record number of Oscar awards for one movie. The

“MADE IN BERLIN：THE ENCOUNTER”, is a special project from a young artist from Taiwan, Peihang Huang（黃沛涵）. During her stay in Berlin, she pictured a smile from those new made friends or the nice people that are friendly to her, and paint the portrait of them each on acrylic on paper. This is an evidence of her stay and how she makes the connection to this city, and could be an experiment of how people can be connected to each other. Through the exhibition, all the people participated in the project could gather together to celebrate “the Encounter”of the artist and the culture. Welcome to share this magic moment, exclusively in Berlin.

tamtamART have the pleasure to invite you to our opening for exhibition : “MASA # 6 : VIRUS/SUPERSTAR” by Yuki Jungesblut. The show is organized by Isabel Schmiga and Sandra Teitge and will open on 19. 20. Nov. 2011.

For MASA BERLIN Berlin-based artist Yuki Jungesblut (*1974) explores the metaphoric power

of the concepts virus and superstar in our everyday life. Originated in the sciences in the last

century, the term virus has since entered other fields (»computer virus« p.e.). The superstar is

also a creation of the 20th century and closely linked to mass media. In a growing mental map

of associations, the artist invites the audience at MASA BERLIN to either draw, write down, or

verbally communicate ideas concerning notions of VIRUS/SUPERSTAR. Jungesblut will

subsequently structure and model the collected remarks in the further development of the

project.

MASA SPREAD YOURSELF! Masa is the Turkish word for table and simultaneously provides

the title for the mobile and independent exhibition space MASA BERLIN. It is an alterable table

vitrine, which appeared for the first time in 2006 in Istanbul, where it was initiated by artist

Vahit Tuna as a space for contemporary art. In 2011, MASA multiplied and starting from April

its offspring has been invading Berlin’s artistic and urban landscape. In-between-space itself,

MASA – a table set with art – will appear in in-between-spaces, attest them, open up a dialogue

and simply embody the notion of hospitality.

MASA BERLIN - BEING HOSTED AS THE HOST To invite has a twofold meaning in Hebrew and means additional to its conventional use also »to make time«. The notion of double hospitality, triggered via its peregrination and its halt at the most different locations, will be framed by a condensed and focused two-day exhibition format.

»As an extension that excludes art created for the system, as an environment that aims to

Refraction is the change in direction of a wave due to a change in its speed. Refraction is commonly observed when a wave passes from one medium to another. Living in a modern society, our daily behaviors show the norm of civic attitude. Modern civilization surfaces the automatic positioning of our daily life. Common situation of daily routine becomes a safe haven, in which we act without thinking. When we brush our teeth every morning, voice down the phone in the public, we act automatically. The trivial automatic interactions with our environment provide a sense of security, as if things will never change as long as we follow the way it should be. However, the safe and peace current moment itself is the trigger of crisis, since the balance will easily break down once a tiny happening takes place. In the works of art, we see how artists apply themselves as a medium different from the norms in civilized daily life. By acting in a different way towards things we are used to, we were provided the chance to find the insight of being in an uncertain, unsafe status. The refractions happen when we try to re-interpret what we’ve been acting every day. The works in this curatorial practice are closely tight to artists’ daily lives and their own reality, which have made the “refraction” more convincing. Meanwhile, the slight but serious attitude of artists from different cultural background has also created an interesting reflection of the generation. Beyond the refraction of rigid civilized life, a reflection on cultural exchange is also an worth-expecting perspective of the show.

tamtamART have the pleasure to invite you to our Opening for Exhibition : CIRCLE PROJECT by Casey, Nai-Huei Wang and Music Event : KLANG ABEND # 2. The exhibition will open on 9^th September and will be on view until 18^th September. At the opening night will include a KLANG ABEND # 2 event by Jeketh Zoun and Jaal Peint.

CIRCLE PROJECT is an independent study to experience cross-discipline design among urbanism, architecture and fashion design. From the most intimate scale of human body to metropolitan pattern, the textile and the technique of fashion design is applied on to the “fabric” understood by architects and urbanists. The unexpected results follow upon the aesthetic yet logical re-form.

Company with the circle project, the video is the documentary of the largest textile wholesale market in the world, Guangzhou textile town and the process of the project realization.

Casey, Nai-Huei Wang born in Taiwan, based in Hong Kong. She is an architect and urban designer received her post professional degree, Master of Architecture in Urban Design at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She has worked on diverse scale of projects worldwide.

Her interests and research is in architectural and urban design, urban history and theory. During 2003-2005 she focused on the urban study and practice in Shanghai, China; from 2005 to 2007 at Harvard Graduate School of Design, the concentrated projects and interests are about Boston metropolitan area, Beijing infrastructure and proposed the strategy for Tsuing Hua University Campus as an operative device to reshape the metropolis, Detroit Music Experience Museum in USA, and Almere waterfront residential area in the Netherlands. Casey also collaborated with Juergen Mayer H. in Berlin for installation of exhibition at Netherlands Architecture Institute in Maastricht and plaza design of Metropol Parasol, Plaza de la Encarnacion in Sevilla Spain.

From 2007-2009 she worked at Foster and Partner London office, for projects: Robert Gorden University in Aberdeen and Birmingham Library in UK and Andorra mix-use Masterplan, Esentai residential complex in Kazakhstan. In 2009, she returned to Asia, concentrates on studies on blooming cities in Asia, Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Currently she is based in Hong Kong and works at Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA Asia, Ltd) on Taipei Performing Arts Center, a theater complex, which is expected to be completed in 2014, Qianhai Masterplan competition which has mixed use program including residential, commercial, office and educational, health care institute, and logistic program, was held the 3rd place in 2010, under progress for further involvement and she also teaches at the University of Hong Kong, Department of Urban Planing and Design at Faculty of Architecture as a Supervisor for Thesis Studio, Master of Urban Design Program.

This video is about a hidden story of development of the eye glance - the eye sights. How do eyes look like, when they see, look, shine, catch sight of, recognize, wink, observe, penetrate, speak, take on a face….eyes put on make up, cleansed, meet the look of all looks face to face, in their mirror. Eyes are the mirror of the soul. The voice of the eyes describes the invisible. Finely this film is about a relationship of couples or daughters and mothers.

Verena Kyselka lives and works in Berlin. Her artistic work was developed in the underground scene of East Germany at the end of 80’s. With the female artist group Exterra XX she founded the Kunsthaus Erfurt in 1990. Here she curated and worked on intercultural projects. From 1997 to 2003 she studied fine art at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. Since then, she has been working space-related with video. Her numerous international projects were developed during intercultural exchanges in East Europe as well as Taiwan and Australia. Her artistic intention is to take up experiences of contemporary history and to put it into an artistic context.

Andrea Loebell-Buch dances because dancing is an important part of her life. From her first steps at Palucca-school in Dresden, her training as dance educator to her last performance at HUNGER-Festival in mai 2011 her research is inspired by observing movements of children, enlargening the potential and range of possibilities.

Ruth Pulgram's itinerary to performance art started with her activity as stage and costume designer - meeting with choreographers gave her the opportunity to sketch dancers in rehearsal - sketches on various supports became installations in dance-spaces. watching dancers gave her the desire to move. her actual research is at the border of visual and performing art, trying to capture the uniqueness of the moment, moving and sketching becoming one, bringing up a new identity.

I-Chen Tsou born 1983 in Taipei, Taiwan, now studies in France, works in France and Germany. She uses her body as material, and the memories from childhood and teenager as the element for her works. She is more a storyteller than a performer.

Who is "I" ? Through outer look, words, smell or voice, in which details we construct "I" as "ME" ? Is "I" really "ME" ? By answering the questions of auto-introductions, we are on the way of searching.

Yuan-Chen Chen born in 1978. Used to be a reporter, art administrators, copywriter, film maker. Graduating from the Graduate Institute of Sound and Image Studies in Management Of Tainan National University of Art. She is now studying documentary films in the University of Lumière in Lyon, France.

MOMENT THAT IS TIMELESS Su-Mei Tang + Yu-Hsuan Pai + Amélie Chambinaud

This is a combination of visual, auditory, tactile improvisation. On the body, son, rhythm with painting, color structure of each movement, as a march infinitive. Action / moment that is real / timeless, through a combination of painting and sound experimental means to leave traces of the process, to find another fun and other possibilities.

Yu-Hsuan Pai born 1988 in Taichung city, Taiwan. She starts learning the piano music and traditional instruments when she was young. At 14 years old she discovered the percussion with Mr. Li-Feng Cheng, and is attracted by the diversity and richness of the instruments. In 2006, she decided to come and work the comtemporary music in France, and she entered the class of percussion with Jean Geoffroy and Henri-Charles Caget of the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon. She is currently a master interpreter, she has worked since 2010 with artist Su-Mei Tang Taiwanese on report musical gesture / act of painting.

Amélie Chambinaud is an artist of many talents. She started her adventure with music by learning the piano, but her thirst for social interaction and team working naturally led her to percussion. She first studied at the music school of Nevers, then at the Conservatoire National de Région of Tours, where she passed the Diplome d'Etudes Musicales. She also passed the bachelor degree in musicology in 2004, and discovered the pleasure of teaching. This is why Amélie decided to study pedagogy at the Centre de Formation des Enseignants de la Musique of Dijon where she obtained her diploma in 2008 (Diplôme d'Etat de professeur de percussion). In 2011, Amélie passed a Master degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Lyon. Her percussion teachers were Jean Geoffroy and Henri-Charles Caget.

Today Amélie beams in almost all spheres of the musical world, as long as it's possible to break the rules. She teaches percussion and musical theatre at the Conservatoire of Bourg-en-Bresse. She's much interested in the link between music, lyrics and gesture. This is why she created several exhibitions such as the musical theatre piece “Qu'est-ce ou la boîte à souvenir metallique or Trois p'tits pas”, created for the young public in 2011. She's also working with the composer Stéphane Borrel, and she recently joined the Compagnie ATTA."

A girl comes from an island and actively participates in the definition of the island's nation status. Her family' story is as intricate as her island' story. Her grandparents belonged to an ethnic minority, which language she has forgotten. Her boyfriend comes from the same ethnic group as her grandparents and she met her ex-girlfriend in a political movement, thus beginning an unstable three-way relationship. She decided to leave her island to travel around the world. During her journey, she met a western girl who shares her interest in insular culture, thus thinking maybe together they can find a solution? This girl told her story like it was right out of her memory, and sometimes like it was a dream.

Yi-Cai Hsu born in Taiwan, has a bachelor's degree in Chinese literature and a master's degree in Taiwanese literature. Has served as play writer, manager and director in a theater troupe. She can't speak her grandparents' language, Hakka, but she speaks Taiwanese and Chinese. She now lives and studies in French.

tamtamART is pleased to present THEATRE REVERB：RELIQUM and FREITAGkINO # 4. “RELIQUM” is a newest performance by the NYC-based company Theatre Reverb and event "FREITAGkINO # 4" is a project of screening on weekend night by international young directors and artists, who are focusing on the creation of video, film and animation.

The performance starts at 9 pm, and after performance screening will begin.

Theatre Reverb, the young Brooklyn-based company of multidisciplinary artists that received “audience choice” and “sold out” awards from the 2008 FRIGID New York Festival, was featured on Polish television’s Oblicza Ameryki, and is in residency at Galapagos Art Space in New York, is pleased to announce that they are seeking opportunities to present their latest production Reliquum.

Reliquum

Theatre Reverb’s newest sensual fantasy production is loosely inspired by Fritz Lang’s classic film Metropolis which serves as the piece’s thematic backdrop and a basis to explore themes of dystopia, violent revolution, and terrorism as a modern warfare. The hybrid mixed media spectacle is told using cinematic devices, live action, and Indian dance theatre techniques. The artists use live video feed and audience interaction to involve spectators in the production’s narrative and to create a work that ultimately envelops both its own source media and its audience. Theatre Reverb began development of this work in Kerala, India where they trained in the Classical Sanskrit dance theater kutiyattam to inform the telling of their contemporary epic.

Reliquum features Kristin Arnesen as Kalpa/Ulka, Christopher Thomas Gilkey as Max, and Radoslaw Konopka as Ott with voice over by Christopher Thomas Gilkey. Script, video, and sound design by Kristin Arnesen and Radoslaw Konopka.

On this session tamtamART is pleased to present " EUROPA ROLLs " by Legend Lin.

By train, between Prague and Berlin, I had found a roll’s secret. - Legend Lin 2011

Legend Lin, a traveler and full time artist. Based in Tainan, Taiwan, her Mid-career is best know for her interpretation of “Nest? Next.”.
By using the theme of a nomadic nest to look into the concept of human's future and the continuation of life, and a main element in her creative works is the sperm spoon. The tadpole sperm-like icon comes from the French word, l'oeuf, which means egg and sounds similar to the English word, love, and the l’oeuf icon “,” then becomes the source of transformation in Lin's iconic creations. Through the fusion of love and life as the starting point, various creative works are extended out from dialogues with life.

tamtamART pleased to present "Reisender", a installation and drawing Exhibition by artists Ying-Chih Chen. The exhibition will open on July 08 and will be on view until July 17. The opening reception scheduled for Friday, July 08 and will include a live concert by Wen- Hsuan Huang.

Follow the falling of the night to the breaking of the dawn; lights have been turned on and off one by one. People live in these units full of lonesome along sides of the streets. One next to the other, but there’s no one can actually talk to; One word “ Alienation” simply says it all. Walking alone on these streets crowded with noise isn’t an option, just to giving eye contacts with endless strangers but merely passing by.

"Reisender" is be focused on the Ying-Chih Chen’s observation of happened stories in daily life.

At the beginning of the summer, on this evening tamtamART have the pleasure to invite you to our Opening for Graphics Exhibition : SCENERY。UTOPIE。QUIET by three artists from three different nations, Gérald Ciolkowski (FR) ,Yi-Chen Huang (TW) and Hironori Minematsu (JP) and also three different breathes of imagination: "Utopie, 幽(Quiet), Scenery". We invite you to discover together how they change this space into a fantasy journey by re-decoring all the walls.

The exhibition will open on May 28 and will be on view until June 5. At the opening night, Let your eyes and ears wide open! because we are also going to present you a live performance combines with Event: KLANGaBEND # 1 by OriOriOri (JP) + Live Painting by Mine-Taro (JP) beginning at 9.30 pm.

Gérald Ciolkowski, 37 years old, lives in Paris and paints for more than 15 years. Self-taught artist, his artwork is close of Art Brut and Art Singulier (Folk Art French movement launched by Dubuffet in 50's). He exhibits regularly in France, Europe and Asia (recently to the International Art singulier Festival of Normandy - France or in Taipei - Taiwan). He draws his inspiration in : news on TV, photography, movies (as Tsai Ming-Liang movies), street art, graffiti, calligraphy, tattoo art, aboriginal art, urbanity, big cities, History, or music... He needs to collects many images, pictures, newspapers articles before starting creating. He recovers many old material and papers, old postcards or used envelopps to paint on with chinese ink or draw with pastel or permanent marker. He never buys really often new paper or paint. He paints with black ink (Chinese ink), accumulating faces, people and many characters or items on the paper.

Yi-Chen Huang 1986 Born in Taiwan, works as a artist and designer in Berlin and Taiwan. After comleting a BFA from National Taiwan Universty of Arts in 2008. She moved to Berlin in 2009 and strats her studie in Berlin Weissensee School of Art Visual Communication and her artist practice.

Hironori Minematsu 1982 Born in Japan, live in Berlin, in 2004 he received his B.A.(major oil painting) from Tama Art University. He received several awards from CANON, Seiko- Epson and more when he was student. Hironori Minematsu has exhibited widely internationally. Next year he will exhibit at Saitama Mordern Art Museum, Saitama, Japan. It will be his first big exhibition at national museum in Japan. At the moment he work as cleaner in Berlin and as road maker in Japan.

Throughout the Month of Performance Art, tamtamART presents the ‘Performance Art - Lose weight exercise’. At the opening on March 7th, we’ll have video installation and “lose weight exercise lesson” for the audience to join us

Lose weight exercise is a new performance project. Description of HUNGER (not only from physiology, but also from psychology): a strong desire. At this time, both men and women, have a new standard for the “perfect shape” which is more stringent and more diversified. At some point, we even get stuck in morbid thoughts “hunger for hunger “. Therefore, we intend to mock this bizarre social phenomenon through this series of performance- Lose weight exercise. A documentation will run from the 7-15 MAY with work by the following artists: Franziska Keune, Hsuan Huang, I-Chen Tsou, Mirella Oestreicher, Ya-Wen Fu, Ying-Chih Chen, Yun-Ting Hung

Month of Performance Art is a new pilot project which aims to highlight the wealth and diversity of independent performance art practices, currently thriving in Berlin. Due in May 2011, MPA aspires to intersect Berlin-based venues, curators, producers and artists who operate on the boundaries of institutionalised performing arts structures, and thus to reflect the creative force injected by independent cultural players into the city’s contemporary performance art scene.

tamtamART is pleased to present "SILENCE LABOR", an exhibition of theater installation organized by Hsuan Huang and Event : "FREITAGkINO # 3". The exhibition will open on April 22 and will be on view until April 29. At the opening night will include a FreitagKino # 3 event of Screening at 9 pm.

Silence Labor, we focus on silence films and libretto: “Die Witwe von Ephesus” by Erich Bormann. We intend to creat a fantastic space composed of machine, movement, labor, silence image and repeat.

Freitag Kino is going to be 3 sessions of projection on 3 nights. On this third evening we will present “KUHLE WAMPE”

Kuhle Wampe, ( full title: Kuhle Wampe or Who Owns the World?) is a 1932German feature film about unemployment and left wing politics in the Weimar Republic. The script was conceived and written by Bertolt Brecht. Kuhle Wampe itself was a tent camp on the Müggelsee in Berlin. Wampe is Berlin dialect for "belly", so the title could also be rendered "Empty (or 'cool') Belly"

現-場與「姚仲涵轉換」：記《雷射-日光燈-聲響表演（LLSP）》的一次中斷

今年二月初，時值超媒體藝術節、國際電子音樂與暨視覺藝術節（club transmediale）兩個媒體藝術節同時進行的年度盛會，現居柏林的策展人王俊琪所策劃的「週末藝廊系列」與後者策略聯盟，成為豐富節目單上的一個選擇。在這個重要的檔期，王俊琪邀請到姚仲涵，除了在tamtamART藝術空間推出《我會壞掉》這個聲音裝置作品之外，還在二月四日晚間演出《雷射-日光燈-聲響表演》這個現場作品。演出當天出席人數眾多，氣氛熱烈，表演準時進行。在全暗的空間中，姚仲涵藉由中斷雷射的傳輸來創造一波又一波眩目的聲光效果。然而，就在表演進行到預計結束時間三分之二強左右，兩顆喇叭突然失聲，原本聲光式的感知衝擊最終只剩日光燈管白熾光線閃爍，經過幾分鐘測試，因為喇叭持續罷工，聲音效果一直無法呈現，只好宣佈表演結束。

對我們來說，一個重要的理論問題就從這種非預期的結束方式中產生。不同於藝術家、策展人與藝廊方面對於技術與設備問題完備性的檢討，我們認為，這種結束方式恰恰凸顯了這個作品的「現場」性質，因此接下來我們問題是：表演的「現場性（liveness）」到底意味著什麼？

中文以「現場」來翻譯的「live」到底具有什麼什麼樣的內涵？或許我們能夠以字源學的方式將中文中所理解的live意義內涵拆解成「現-場」，換句話說也就是：在「現在」這個時間點上的某種「場」。「現在的場」這樣一種對於「時間-空間」的理解方式其實是個二十世紀中葉之後才慢慢被接受的物理學觀念。

晚年寫給摯友Michele Besso的一封信中，Albert Einstein提到，「你（Besso）站在光滑的地面上。在物理學的基本定律中沒有任何不可逆性，你必須接受這樣的思想：主觀的時間，連同它對『現在』的強調，都是沒有任何客觀意義的。…過去、現在和將來三者之間的區別只是一種幻覺，然而，這種區別依然持續著。」提出相對論的Einstein堅持「客觀存在的世界具有完備的規律與秩序」，因此，縱使是建立量子力學、並與Einstein並列二十世紀初科學巨人的Werner Heisenberg的「測不準原理」也無法說服Einstein相信「偶然性」是事物的基本特質，他相信在這一切物理現象之後有個等同於「自然」的、理性的Spinoza式上帝，人類之所以無法掌握偶然性是因為我們無法達到全知，或者簡單地說，「無知」。Einstein的物理學宇宙自大爆炸的那一天起就已經全部被決定好了，過去決定了現在，現在決定了未來，反之亦然。上帝的秩序是這麼地井然有序，在這個意義下，「現在」不具備任何重要性，因為「現在」的全數內容都可以從「過去」推導出來，我們也能夠從某個被稱為「現在」的時間點倒推出「過去」的一切內涵，差別只在我們能不能發現事物之後的規律。「時間」是外於這種宇宙中的某種不明物體，掌握在Einstein的上帝手中，只要我們能夠掌握到某種時間「軌跡」，我們就能理解一切現象，換句話說，不管是空間還是物質都必須依靠發展軌跡來加以說明。用一種淺顯而化約的講法來說，這是一種「路徑依賴」物理學，時間（在我們的宇宙中就是以「光速」來量測的維度）不過是標示「路徑」那些界標整體的名字。「時間」本身卻是這個宇宙中唯一不具任何「時間性」的東西，以Ilya Prigogine的方式來說，就是：時間（每一個「現在」）沒有「厚度」。

不過，就「時間/空間」觀念的發展來說，Einstein的相對論與Heisenberg的量子力學其實幫我們從Isaac Newton式時間與空間相互區分的二維宇宙中掙脫開來了。最早在數學尚未有足夠進展之前，人們將偶發性因素的創造與預測能力交予神祇或魔鬼這類超驗觀察者，直到Newton與Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz提出「微積分」的構想之後，人們開始將「確定性」等同於「可預測性」（兩者數學上「等價」），正如Pièrre Simon de Laplace所認為的「依照因果律可以計算出有關過去與未來的一切」那樣，這種思惟將宇宙視為一個巨大且精確的時鐘，過去/當下/未來三者的因果關係是捆綁在一起的，不過我們要注意，在這個Newton物理學時期，最終決定世界狀態的因素，不像Einstein所理解的：只有時間；相反地，在時間之外，我們還必須考慮「空間」這個獨立的維度，「時間/空間」兩者並非以「時-空」這種方式一起演化，而是兩者朝著各自的方向發展。我們或許簡化地能說，這是一種「光學幾何」物理學。

正如上面所談到的，文藝復興時期以降直到二十世紀中葉，時/空觀念起碼經歷兩個斷代。「現在」這樣一個時間性觀念，不管是在近代早期直至十九世紀中葉的「光學幾何物理學」中，還是在十九世紀末二十世紀初的「路徑依賴物理學」那裡都不具任何地位。前者完全位於一個靜態宇宙之中，後者雖然已經考慮到一個動態的宇宙，但是卻依舊是個全然不留位置給「現在」與「未來」的封閉宇宙。沒有「現在」，當然就更談不上有「現在的場」了，以Wolfgang Hagen的用語來說，就是這兩種宇宙觀都「忘了有『現在』這件事（Gegenwartsvergessenheit）」。

為了提出一個有「現在」的開放性宇宙的時空理論，讓我們仿照Karl Popper在《科學發現的邏輯》一書中的建議做個思想上的實驗，以前述兩種時空理論來測試《雷射-日光燈-聲響表演》這個作品所帶來的效應是否能夠被合理地說明。不管是在Newton式光學幾何物理學的觀點下，還是從Einstein相對論的視角來看，我們應該能夠想像時間具有「可逆性」，在我們這裡的例子中，這意味著在獲知表演因為儀器原因而無法繼續下去時，當時現場大眾的「失望」這一件事情，是能夠全數地被逆推回每個人剛進入表演空間時的「期待」心情。順著表演時間前進的方向來說，因為台上表演精彩而導致每個人都情緒高漲這樣一個結果似乎順理成章，只需依賴姚仲涵在台上的展演性動作即可達到。但是如果我們打算請大家都花費相同的時間，將「失望」以情境條件完全相同、但時間方向上卻恰恰逆反的過程降溫，退回完全沒有預料到演出會出差錯的、剛進入tamtamART藝術空間時一模一樣的心情。那麼，我想所有的人都會認為做這種「降溫」提議的的人瘋了，因為這全然不符合我們所看到的現象所表現出來的樣子，更不符合成本效益，逆推降溫所需要消耗的心力（能量）與控制的變項遠大於順向加溫。

這樣一個簡單的思想實驗說明了「時間是不可逆的」這種事態是最基本的時間事態，Ilya Prigogine稱呼這種事態是「時間對稱性的破損」，換句話說，「從過去到未來」與「從未來到過去」這兩個方向並不對稱，所以無法逆推。就是在這樣時間方向無法逆推的理解下，每個「時間點」必然內在於宇宙之中（而不是像之前的兩種理論一樣，將時間視為得以用來測量宇宙、且外在宇宙的標尺）。以《雷射-日光燈-聲響表演》這個現場演出來說，這意味著藝術家每個動作的選擇、日光燈與喇叭等設備狀態、觀眾自身所處的情境這三者位於同一個「場」（或者我們可以更抽象地稱之為「系統」）中，每個觀眾都佔有一個以上的場，在另一個集體行動的層次上，每一區觀眾也形成另一種不同的場的形態。這些所有「場」都被藝術家、設備與觀眾同時（不管是自覺還是無意識地以各種方式）控制著，就像Ilya Prigogine所指出的，「當我們控制這個系統（例如加熱一部份而冷卻另一部份）時，我們打破了這個時間對稱性，而且在某種意義上，我們把我們的破缺的時間對稱性傳給了該系統」。

經過了這麼冗長的理論鋪陳，我們或許可以簡單地這麼說，從Newton到Einstein的時空理論都是個「預設『時間存在』先於『時間變化』」的理論，在這樣的理論中，時間是神祕不可探詢的、「現在」與「未來」都是不存在的、宇宙是封閉的、人是沒有自由的（除非擁有一種擬上帝式的全知或理性）、尋求的是「（無限制的）自由」這種「解放」的可能性；相對於此，「現-場」在Ilya Prigogine所指出的演化式熱力學宇宙中具有基本不可取代的地位，在這個理論中，「時間」是內在於系統的，因而每個「現在」都會創造自身的「場」，場的「未來」決定於系統內部所有參與者在每個時間點上同步的創造與選擇、宇宙是開放的、時間是不可逆的，對這個理論而言，自由與限制本就是同時存在的攣生物，人們所探問因而不再是「如何能夠找到（不被限制的）自由？」這種問題，而是「我應該如何控制自由度的大小變化？」這種問題。

姚仲涵以單一維度的雷射作為「時-空」軸，將每個「現在」以「（數位）聲-（日光燈）光」轉換並創造「場」的方式，或許我們能夠仿照物理學上的命名方法，稱之為「姚仲涵轉換（Yao Chung-Han transform）」。於此，《雷射-日光燈-聲響表演》這個作品之所以依賴藝術家對現場氣氛的判斷來決定如何創造並安排聲光節奏，就是為了探詢「姚仲涵轉換」在「操縱自由度」上的諸種技巧。

tamtamART is pleased to present Exhibition : "Window Installation : somethings" by Stefan Riebel and Event : "FreitagKino # 2". The exhibition will open on March 17 and will be on view until March 26. At the opening night will include a FreitagKino # 2 event of Screening by 7 directors Bernadette Kolonko, Saskia Hubert, Jo-Mei Lee李若玫, Marcus Nebe, Anna Mönnisch, Tilde Juul, Quirin Kehm beginning at 9.30 pm.

Stefan Riebel almost exclusively works in series in the field of space-related performance and conceptual art. He thereby focus on a non-expressive way to deal with information, statements and descriptions and furthermore he tries to develop interactive and model-like open structures, processes and concepts. for his research and without any restrictions. He tries to use all kinds of media in an often playful and self-referential way. All of his works deal with very basic questions, for instance: what art could be? how something turns into art? what sort of significance art could have? how the relation between art and its audience might be? ... These single pieces and series often operate between artistic action and the everyday life, between poetic and context specific intervention and highly compatible entertainment on a mass media basis. Besides questioning the basic parameters of the arts he is interested in unfolding very individual and complex situations based on very simple interactions the beholder usually takes a main role in.

Freitag Kino is going to be 3 sessions of projection on 3 nights. On this second evening we will present 7 young image creators.

Time is unfolded by the bright, delicate reality；The accumulated memories and spaces are released. This does not suggest that the past is evaded. Mansions not only contain memories but release the past and future. Thus, passing through time, the rectangle images are like windows without glasses. Innumerous dust of the ancient and the new is floating, and then making soft and real sounds when it is grounded

Jing-Da Lin re-condenses “somewhere” of his deep memory through shooting video image of location and landscape that memory has been placed. In other words, the artist is not reproducing similarity between two locations by shifting spaces horizontally, but is constantly taking a new location at a fictional spot in past memories. This kind of fiction allows him to produce narratives in a trip recorded without end. Furthermore, these narratives can be reassembled to connect to some fragmented memories which are deliberated anew by the artist.

By what kind of position and posture they will make a rendezvous, while people encountered in a balance beam: meaningless, expected, resistance, cooperative, yielding, bully, submissive…. Regardless of the rendezvous come with the success or failure, meeting that part is a processing; however, it is also a result when the two men meet up after the debated.

Ning Huan was born in Taiwan. He received his masters degree from Arts’ National Hsinchu University of Education in Taiwan. He has exhibited widely internationally. Important shows include the “Art Shit↑”30 th Asolo International Art film Festival, Asolo, Italy(2011), Shanghai Taipei Cultural& Creative Industry Expo, Shanghai.(2010)

Just like any other ordinary morning, she brushes her teeth, but when she looks at the mirror, she suddenly does not recognize the person staring back at her. 3 years ago, she decided to get surgery to put her crooked jaw back where it should be. How do you get along with that part of the body you absolutely loathe? This is a story about a person who does not like her body and decides to take action.

Yuan-Chen Chen, born in 1978. Used to be a reporter, art administrators, copywriter. Graduating from the Graduate Institute of Sound and Image Studies in Management of Tainan National University of Art. She is now studying documentary films in the University of Lumière in Lyon, France.

Kouhu is a place where land disappears and reappears in the course of history. 20 years ago, wetlands reappeared, turning the residents of Kouhu into one form of “climate refugees”. What visitors regard as beautiful scenery is in fact sorrow of the local residents. While nature gave the land a chance to recuperate, the people who were forced out of the land carry the memory of impoverished homeland forever.

Hsin-Yao Huang is an independent filmmaker based in Tainan, Taiwan. Graduated from the Tainan National University of the Arts' Graduate Institute of Sound and Image, his works have been featured at international film events such as Kassel's documentary, Durban Film Festival in South Arica, the International Environmental Film and Video Festival (FICA, Brazil) and MOMA in New York. His fourth documentary, Bluffing, won Best Documentary at the 29th Golden Harvest Awards, Taiwan's premier showcase for young filmmakers. Huang currently runs Sun Studio Taiwan, an independent production company in Taiwan, and serves as executive director of Taiwan's Documentary Media Workers' Union.

The Wind Up Life I 2010 I 5’ 07” I One Man Chen

The Wind-Up Life is a motion graphics animation project using matte painting, compositing, illustration skills, 2D animation, and 3D animation. This is about the idea of the intersection between dreams and reality. It depicts the connection between what we dream at night and the stress we feel during the day. Symbolically, the idea of pressure is represented by an ocean and fish to show the idea of mentally drowning. My animated film uses dream-like imagery to metaphorically portray the struggles of a person dealing with everyday life.

Yi-Jen Chen aka One Man Chen is a motion graphics artist based in New York City. Born and raised in Taiwan, Yi-Jen Chen works in the mediums of graphic design, 2D animation, motion graphics, 3D animation, and digital video. He completed his college education in the Applied Art Department at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan; and received his MFA degree in School of Visual Arts Computer Art in 2010.

Yen-Ting Kuo, born in Taipei, Taiwan. Yen-Ting became interested in art and movie at a young age.His passion for storytelling, acting and imagery cametogether in the creative arts.Bybuilding on his video and filmbackground established at Southern Taiwan University, Taiwan, where he achieved his Bachelor degree, he continued his in-depth study in animationat School of Visual Arts, USA.After graduation, Yen-Ting moved from New York to California, where he is now working as acharacter animation freelancer.

Hallucii, because of drinking too much alcohol, a chubby guy lost his consciousness on his way home. After he woke up, he found himself trapped in an endless-looping staircase. He triedhard to escape, but the truth is another nightmare......

Goo-Shun Wang was born in Taiwan. He earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Geosciences in National Taiwan University. The scientific training in Geosciences offered him a logical angle to observe; in Geology he enjoyed the largest, tiniest, and most primitive beauty of Nature. After the scientific experience he decided to jump into the art field. He graduated from School of Visual Arts in New York with a Master of Fine Art degree. He is working at Psyop Inc. in New York City.

The Nest I 2010 I 1’ 04” I Yen-Ting Chung, Chao- Ying Lin

The Nest is an animated film made by Yen-Ting Chung and Chao-Ying Lin. This live action film, blended with ink animation, describes a woman who can not sleep at night after she starts her first job, stapling endless papers. She keeps seeing ink birds and insects in her life. Humans become birds and buildings become nests. Finally, she realizes that she has become a part of the spectacle and cannot escape.

Yen-Ting Chung was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She received her masters degree from Parsons The New School for Design in New York. Her work varies in media from drawing to animation and sculpture. She recently showed work in The Kitchen Gallery, Sheila C. Johnson Design Center and PULSE Art Fair in NYC, and participated in numerous exhibitions internationally.

Chao-Ying Lin was born in Taipei, Taiwan. After receiving her masters degree from School of Visual Arts in New York, she works on image narratives with verious media by computer processing. She believes modernity looks at ambiguities in new degrees to suppose issues. It doesn't rely on the old models but faces the situations with new efforts and ideas. When a new idea is forming, it can be unclear, unacceptable, or insane at the time. Then myth becomes a pleasant way to search for the expression by liberating human imagination. Computer technique is the powerful tool to produce fantasy for its potential to extend human vision. She integrated eastern and western thinkings to discover the collective consciousness of modern society. The resonant metaphor to relate the spirituality and reality is the aesthetics she always searches for.

Roue I 2009 I 5’ 03” I Tai-Li Wu

Roue is a self-portrait project. This piece is composed by fragments of my dreams, childhood memories and emotions. "ROUE" is a Chinese word meaning rub back and forth & disorder something. As to me, the experiences of recalls bring me all the affections, both positive and negative. By producing this short film, I explore my unconscious, record my thoughts as a track, and create a way to comfort my emotions.

Tai-Li Wu originated from Taiwan. She received her MFA in Computer Art from School of Visual Arts, NY(2009). Currently, Wu experiments across-field on motion graphics and video design. She enjoys expressing through drawing, animation and photograph in metaphorical forms. She likes to creates things and makes surprises.

Cedrik Fermont is a multifaced vegan artist, academically trained musician, dj, singer, composer and drummer ; he is electroacoustic composer Annette Vande Gorne former student (Conservatory of Mons, Belgium). Of Greek, Zairian and Belgian descent, born in Zaire (RDC), he lived in Belgium, the Netherlands and relocated to Germany Berln..

Olaf Hochherz is born 1981 in Wuppertal/Germany. he is a composer and improviser. he found his way to music by experimenting with synthesizers and computers. after years with an focus on composition of electroacustic music. he came (back) to improvisation. he uses simple electronic setups or computer. He likes unstable systems. he is interested in the effect acoustic activity has, the relation between surrounding environment and music, between sound and associations. Now he lives in Berlin.

Yao Chung-Han Born in Taipei and a 2008 graduate of the School of Art and Technology, Taipei National University of the Art, Yao Chung-Han is an active member of the new generation of sound artists in Taiwan, which includes the group i/O Lab of which he is a core member. His works are mostly concerned with sound, while at the same time searching for the inherent connections between video, installation, space, and various media. Recent exhibitions include Non-Places: Architecture of Pheromonal Presence, SCU, Taipei (2010); Emergencies!014, NTT ICC, Tokyo (2010); Tokyo Story, Wonder Site, Tokyo (2010); SuperGeneration@Taiwan, Today Art Museum, Beijing (2010), and Shanghai Art Museum, Shanghai (2009).

"LLSP (Laser - Lamps - Sound Performance)" : Fingering with a green laser light, when touching the laser, the fluorescent lamps all lighten up and also the sounds are triggered. This is how I play an instrument which is created on my own. I place some devices like microphones around the fluorescent lamps and then amplify the tiny noises from switching on of lamps and input the noises into my computer. Laser lights are projected 170 cm long and I use sensors to judge the position of my hands to control tuning up or down on this 170 cm long green laser light. To me, this is a very interesting logic: First, I found a material which is able to make sounds and later I found the logic of playing according to its specifics. In the theme of this performance, I direct the manipulation of sounds to human body and combine a relationship between performer's limb and performer's playing. Thus, I figured out how to perform with your limbs and sounds harmoniously and it's all related to the ergonomics. However, it's an amusing thinking of how to be "harmony" and it includes the ways we play and the cognitions of all kinds of instruments. Thus, I expect this kind of logic could bring an avant-garde performance by this new theme, new logic of playing, and also a new experiment. Moreover, we can find out more possibilities of sounds' manipulating and performing in the next, upcoming experiments.(Text by Yao Chung-Han)

On the weekend prior to the festivals from 28th until 30th January, CTM, transmediale, Create Berlin and a multitude of Berlin partners together invite you to the inaugural Digital Arts & Sound (DAS)Weekend, when more than 70 independent organizations, venues and individuals active in Berlin will present their activities by setting up their own events and opening doors to their spaces. DAS Weekend aims to draw attention to the many artists, spaces and initiatives active in Berlin with great commitment and exciting ideas to promote artistic work and discourse in the converging zones between digital arts, experimental music and sound art.

Urban Flashes is four session exhibitions curated by Chun-Chi Wang. The exhibition are explore the work of four groups of artists who make new media such as light, sound, new technology and installation. Contemporary artists play freely with materials and forms. They construct laboratories of perception, focusing on human perception and the ability to manipulate and condition it. The artists work with a direct reference to the modern environment and use its artifacts such as strobe lights and spot lights to create light spaces situated between sensual experience and scientific experiment. The spatial and temporal structures are deconstructed by means of projection.

These four works offer an indication of the future of light techniques at the interface of art and cutting-edge technologies: "I will be Broken" by Yao Chung-Han, "syzygy" by Pei-Wen Liu & Tobias Hoffmann, "Volusonogram"by Tim Vets and "One Moment in Time" by Jiayi Young & Shih-Wen Young.

I will be gone out of order, but before that, my voice is beautiful.
With a 16.6/second switching frequency, I sing and with the same 16.6/second switching frequency, I break down.
After I am completely broken, I can be discarded.

Fluorescent light has a limited life span. It wears out. Inside a pitch dark space, a string of sparks is continuously triggered by programmed electric currents. The concurrent, minute cracking sounds are amplified by a microphone placed at the upper part of the work. Perceptual contrasts fascinate the artist. In his words, “the visual part is so intense, while the sound is almost imperceptible and yet beautiful.”
Being sensitive to the uncertainties of place, whenever he arrives in a new city, Yao Chung-han would open the hotel’s windows, standing awhile to figure out what kind of place it is. A sudden spurt of sound can become enchanting to him, as if a scene unexpectedly unfolds outside of one’s own apartment. Likewise, an instantaneous sound can appear purposelessly, and thus capture one in amazement.
“I Will be Broken” is such a scene occurring outside of one’s window. Even though it is program-controlled, the approaching of different visitors, with different distances, at random affects the work. For the artist, the visitor is integral to the space of the work.(Text by WU Ting-hsien)

"I'm looking for you" : When a person sets out with the intention to look for someone they may be able to find themselves in the process. On the path to find ourselves there are many questions. Not all of them can be answered. "I'm looking for you" is an exploration of ourselves and people we haven't met yet. The artists in this exhibition are using a combination of Installation, Photographs , Videos and Texts to explore these questions.

Delphine Marinier is history researcher and digital music artist. She has a broad range of interests and brings these into each new project she explores.
Brian Bixby is an internationally exhibiting visual artist, film maker and musician. Brian Bixby uses Photoshop and an Apple computer to create exotic, psychedelic digital artworks of enormous range and complexity. Imagine the paint brush severed from cliché and all of its physical limitations, shaping a bold new visual language. His hyper-color and luminant compositions are anything but sterile computer experiments. They resemble sensitive, telscopic renderings of otherworldly life or natural atmospheric occurences, an inherent naturalism permeating each piece.

Dear friends, tamtamART is pleased to present "GIL PROJECT" by eight Korean artists: So Young, Lee Ju, Miju Kim, Mi-Jung Kim, Yong Hwan Kim, Sang-Hee Lee, Luconetta, Yvette Yang. The exhibition will open on January 14 and will be on view until January 23. The opening reception scheduled for Friday, January 14 and will include a music performance by Luconetta beginning at 9.00 pm.

"GIL" is the expression of Korean "길" Romanized.
"GIL" means 'Chemin' in French and "Road" in English in a dictionary definition, but the meaning can be more wide.
"(hyphen)" is the symbol of connection of the characteristics which belong to the name of a place. For example, "가로수(Karosu)길(gil)" should be written as "Karosu-gil".

Eight Korean artists are gathered for "GIL PROJECT", and they started to find their own "metaphor" about "GIL" Sthrough this project. Each question was begun with the concept as a 'space' and then detailed with a "dictionary definition" and "their own experiences". Those questions were developed in a similar way but also in a very different way. Because "GIL" also presents each person's life process in a personal view, not only the space we are walking on.
