Also tonight a night of audio and visual delights including a Circus of local talents! Proceeds will support Beyond Fire Tribe and SambaDrop’s journey to Black Rock City for Rites of Passage this year.

Much of the initial tracking was done at Scott’s studio in L.A.  Then bringing it back home, Alela decided to utilize some of our great local talent here in Nevada County. The sessions were highly productive and Scott is now in the middle of mixing. Alela plans to release her new album in February 2011. It was a real honor and pleasure to work with Alela and Scott.

I had the pleasure of recording Kipchoge & the Ninjas again and this time with the help of the talented and righteous producer Ted Reichman.
The basic tracks were recorded at Station to Station and SunSound Studios here is Grass Valley. We recorded basics and overdubs in about two weeks,
then Ted finished the remainder of the production work on the East coast. As always it was a lot of fun to work with Kipchoge & the Ginger Ninjas and an honor to work with Ted.

By the by, Kipchoge & the Ginger Ninjas are on tour in Europe for the whole summer and fall. Check out the schedule at www.pleasantrevolution.net

This amazingly tight trio has prepared a fantastic new set of funky, jazzy, rockin’, groovin’ tunes.  Both Perry and Mike contributing compositions and singing on tracks, with Mark, drummer extrordinaire, driving the amazing rhythms.

We are stoked at SunSound to be working with these fantastic musicians again! We will have sound clips on their page very soon!

The South Yuba String Band was in the studio last week recording songs for their demo and new upcoming album! Good times and great session work creates great music, check out “Goddess of Makenna.”
