Because the four wheels universe was already mastered and they didn’t know what to do with that much know-how and technology discipline, the guys from BMW invented a 12,9 kilos (28,38 lbs) aluminum bike ready to rock your world. There’s not much about the price, however, which is a pretty interesting detail when it comes to powerful gadgets like this! I know you heard this before, and you’ve even heard it from me, still, I feel compelled to repeat myself: Gisele has that mummy look she never had before. Yep, mothers do have something special in their look. Especially in their early mothers life! That brings something new to old Gisele, too bad it’s not Anna’s contribution. What irks me about this Gisele’s Earth Mother story is the sanctification of Gisele’s persona. Suddenly she’s more than a model. She’s a Na’vi! How uninspired and entertainment-submerged must be the person who wrote the article as to talk about a real life person in computer-sci-fi generated terms?

From all the world’s vocabulary, it had to be Na’vi? (for those of you who are not yet familiarized with the concept and the visuals, Na’vi is the computer generated population from the planet Pandora, also fruit of Avatar’s scenarists imagination!) I admire Gisele and feel the righteousness of her covering Vogue’s Shape issue. Then again, if we’re to relate to shape issues, why bring on a goddess to make us all feel puny and irrelevant? Especially all those young mothers who look nothing near Gisele only four months after giving birth?

To draw an early conclusion before feeling the tension mount: this is yet another perfect example of how Anna likes to hide fashion underneath thick layers of entertainment and Good Ol’ American dream stories. And then we all wake up to this cloudy reality far from the Na’vi ideals and wonder if those who depressed from not being able to touch the Pandora reality were that off the common sense line! Kirk Henry’s skateboard design brings well known elements from established haute houses. Whether that will come to life (or in that particular shape) only time will show us. For now, I’m just enjoying the view and the oh-so-useful philosophy of getting everything Haute Couture can (or could) deliver. Instead, I discovered that what you ignore today, may hit you twice as hard tomorrow! Last week, I found out, like many of you, that Madonna had inked a design deal with MG Icon group (owner of Ed Hardy, amongst others) for a children collection! The name is Material Girl and it will be available in Macy’s stores in time for back to school season, with prices raging from $12 to $40! (don’t miss the rest for the story, right after the jump!)

As you may remember, Madonna, who has tried so hard to transgress her chanteuse status into something more serious (so hard that she even married a highly esteemed director), has had a brief designer episode with H&M. Now she’s taking that road again, with Lourdes as her front-reason, the new Material Girl collection being inspired by her Madgesty’s daughter.

And before you breathe in relief that the Material Girl fashion adventures won’t hit your closet, read through: Madonna has designed a new pair of sunglasses for (and with) Dolce and Gabbana! Toujours part of her MG Icon contract, the “design deal” enabled Madonna to have her favorite photographer, Steven Klein, do the ad campaign for MDG shades. And that’s not all! The campaign also stars Tyson Ballou, just another Jesus-replacement.

There’s no word on whether this was Lourdes doing or just her Madgesty fashion genius at work, the only clear giveaway of Madonna’s involvement is the glitzy stars-made M letter from the MDG signature you can see on the shades arms. What a Material Girl, indeed! (WWD, photos via 1, 2, 3)

And their upcoming issue, with Claudia Schiffer, Vanessa Paradis, Bar Refaeli and Claire Danes is set to amaze your aesthetics. (don’t miss the rest of the story and the images right after the jump! Four covers are ready for the Vs. SS 2010 issue. One more beautiful than the other, each with a strong personality and message. I’ll take Claudia and concentrate on her part in this Vs. Magazine issue: she’s impersonating Miss Julie (yes, Strindberg’s Fröken Julie), something quite different and new from her previous, boring Brigitte Bardot-esques pictorials you can find in so many other magazines.

If you’re slightly familiar with the play’s story, you’ll know that Miss Julie’s tragic, contradictory self isn’t easy to portray. Nevertheless, with a little help from Kayt Jones photographic skills, Claudia manages a wonderful, both fashionable and artistic visual moment. A dreamer, a woman, yet with such hautain-ish, aristocratic gestures and strong postures, Claudia’s Miss Julie isn’t something I’d want to miss! There’s also a short film on Vs. site, a short film with scenes from the shooting itself plus vintage frames building the atmosphere. That and Massive Attack’s Angel really make this Kayt Jones directed film striking and as noir as every Miss Julie act should be. So I’m graciously encouraging you to watch it on Vs ‘ site!

This is one of the most amazing songs I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening glorifying this world’s women. Shaggy. Yes, Shaggy! His Strength of a Woman uplifts me no matter what I’m doing or how cloudy the skies decide to be that day! (or night!) Thank you for this most amazing week, again! There’s little out on in the Internet about this great song from Shaggy. Besides the well-known fact that it was released in 2002 on the “Lucky Day” album, the Strength of a Woman didn’t seem to impress much the Internet population as to produce something notable from the under/grounds of this piece. Which is a crying shame since the song really comes as optimistic and energetic for a woman’s spirit.

Recognition, true recognition, especially in the media/entertainment comes rarely for women. True women, not the Gaga kind, not the fabricated breed. (not that I would have anything against Gaga/ism. By all means, love Gaga! She surely shows us what the strength of a woman means – especially in that last telephone stint – poison, Baby Bee, that’s all it takes for a strong woman!) Oh well, let me listen to Shaggy one more time, wipe that Gaga thing off my retina! (oh, if you’re curious, the phone thing – you can see it here)
