Magnum has just released a brand new track produced by the only Magnum himself titled “Mofelowo Faster” (Gmix Remix) meaning Asap Money off his forth coming album .This song is currently motivating real hustlers in every hood and the city streets right now.

Magnum’s style can be described as having ‘a loose, easy flow coupled with cleverly smooth delivery, which motivates any body with that hustler spirit trying to get to the money in this recession by any means necessary.

His delivery coupled with a talent for piling multiple rhymes on top of one another in quick succession with a combination of English and Yoruba language can be heard in his wordplay…

The production of the beat, his sounds, quality, his flow, his diction, his lingo, his delivery and hooks fused with his lyrical dexterity were all the elements that made the song so unique to listen to.

Please share the song around and lets get motivated “Mofelowo faster mayne”…

This is a Video by Material Feat Magnum and AY. Here you can feel Magnum’s Energy in this video. Good stuff by all three though.

PRESS RELEASE

At about 9 am, October 8th, 2010, stories emerged from an on-line magazine that Dampte with other artistes were spotted smoking marijuana at the just concluded Independence Carnival tagged Nigeria @ 50 in Ilorin, Kwara State. This event on its own is untrue. The report fabricated. In as much as we as a team do not condemn those who smoke or choose to smoke marijuana as it is a matter of choice, we do condemn stories which are unfounded. And we wish to state as follows
1. Yes, Dampte was at the Nigeria @ 50 Carnival in Ilorin, Kwara State
2. Yes, Dampte was around a lot of artistes including but not limited to those named in the report
3. Yes, Dampte was at the back stage as against under the stage as reported

We have, and again request an apology from the On-line magazine for trying to smear the brand name Dampte. Although we understand it is mere gossip but we would not stand around and watch DAMPTE and what he represents be dragged through the mud.
We use this medium to apologise to all the fans and supporters who are disturbed as much as we are with this unfounded story.
Original Story can be found here:

From the red carpet to the sold out tickets to the full-to-the-brim hall and the stellar performances put up by the comedians and musicians, Basketmouth has set a new standard for comedy shows in Nigeria. Expo Hall, Eko Hotel and suites was the venue, date was October 10, 2010 and the event was Lord Of The Ribs.

Starting with a performance by the host himself, Basketmouth ushered the audience into what to expect that night with rib cracking jokes.

Coming after the host was Onyebuchi who thrilled the audience with jokes from his rich repertoire of jokes. Bovi took the night to the next level as he cracked jokes about his escapades as a married man. Basketmouth had been coming on stage after the performances of every comedian soon came on stage as loud ovation rent the air as he introduced the next comedian with the signature “Hallelu”. Gordons didn’t betray the crowd as he reeled out jokes with the audience asking for more as he left the stage.

The Nigerian comedians held the stage so well and the foreigners did not do bad as they held the stage well and gave the audience a nice time for their money. First among the foreigners to rock the stage was South African, Ndumiso. Ndumiso did a great job making the crowd laugh, same with Kelvin J from UK who though white with an accent still cracked enough ribs that can last him a life time. He made the audience laugh with jokes that exalted the virtues of Nigeria. Kelvin J was not alone in making the audience laugh with jokes about Nigeria, Gina Yashere, British born Nigerian comedian also had things to say about Nigeria as she made jokes on tricks Nigerians make abroad.

It was not over with Nigerian comedians with I go die, Okey Bakkassi, Ali Baba holding the stage in different performances.

Coming after the performances by the comedians was an interlude which saw the emergence of Mr Nnamdi Nwabara winning a million naira in the Coca-Cola open happiness raffle. He was presented a dummy cheque of the money that night.

There were also Virgin Atlantic air and South Africa Airways tickets up for grabs that night. After 3 tries, a lady was able to mimic how flights are announced in Virgin Atlantic plane won a ticket for two. Another lady won ticket because she got the year South African Airlines started operation in Nigeria correctly.

Lord of the Ribs was not comedy all through as various musicians graced the stage with their performances. Present at the event were A- list musicians like Tuface, Terry-G, Jesse Jagz, MI, Sound Sultan, Durella, Eldee tha don, Naeto-C, Ikechukwu, Banky-W, Ice-Prince and Whiz kid. They all added to the glamour that greeted the night with such stellar performances that will continue to place Lord of the Ribs as a classical event of class.

The name Wizkid is fast becoming one of the most recognised names on the block. The young and talented artiste is doing himself proud by showing he’s got the talent to swag the Nigerian Music industry. The airwaves are busy blasting his songs in various part of Africa especially Nigeria. Furthermore, the release of his latest Video has taken his rating to another level.

Some said This dude is good and were expecting spectacular stuff from him. Did he deliver? Without doubt, a positive affirmation remains my phrase.

Nigerian music videos are clearly improving and Whizkid’s “Holla at your boy” is registering new heights. Most critics of Nigerian music videos always say that the videos shot in Nigeria are not always crisp but this is an exception. Credit must be given to Patrick Ellis who directed the video. EME Records are truly going for the best and nothing less. Hence, huge credit to Banky W and the Entire EME Record Label for an outstanding production. This video is hot, clean, crisp, clear and totally Nigerian.

Summary of the Vdeo:
The Brand New Video from WizKid, called “Holla at Your Boy” was carefully directed by Patrick Ellis . Wizkid is a new artiste signed to Empire Mates Entertainment Record Label, and the video was shot in Lagos, Nigeria.

It was a night of glitz and glamour on Friday, August 27 and Sunday August 29, 2010 as Nollywood diva, Oby Edozieh premiered her high budget movie, “Save Our Souls” and also launched her cancer foundation, Oby Gold Cancer Foundation.

The movie premiere and foundation launch was host to the high and mighty with eminent Nigerians like the first lady, Mrs Dame Jonathan who was represented by the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Josephine Anenih; the Honorable Minister of Health, Prof C O Onyebuchi Chukwu; the erstwhile Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Charles Soludo and senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, at the event and celebrities like Lilian Bach, Ronke Oshodi, Enebeli Elebuwa, Kenneth Okonkwo, Emeka Enyiocha and a host of others storming the Abuja venue. The Lagos edition which held at the Oriental Hotels, Lekki was also star-studded as Nollywood actors thronged the venue to celebrate one of theirs; roll call at the premiere includes Okey Bakassi, who was also the MC, Desmond Elliot, Kenneth Okonkwo, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Bhari Mcwizu, OC Ukeje, Foluke Daramola, Andy Chukwu and a host of other celebrities.

The two nights were indeed glamorous events judging by all standards: the red carpet was filled with celebrities; the audience had music to dance to, jokes to laugh to and a lot to eat and drink.

However, the movie premiere was not a jolly affair all through as there was cause for sober reflection at both venues of the movie premiere; the two venues were filled with tears from the thought provoking and emotional movie which chronicles the emotional trauma and plight of cancer patients.

Nonetheless, the catharsis did not stop the audience from having the fun they came for. The audience was treated to the sonorous voice of Timi Dakolo, the winner of West African idols and Hip Hop award winner with veteran comedian and special adviser to the Imo State government Okey Bakassi reeling out jokes to the audience. The hostess, Oby Edozieh was all cheers all through the event in her Mon Ami designed gowns.

Oby Gold Cancer Foundation is borne out of Oby Edozieh’s passion for people with cancer. Prior to the official launch, Oby Gold Cancer Foundation has been of great help to several people with cancer, giving out counsel and support.

Nigeria movie producers in the Diaspora are gradually coming back home, enriching Nollywood with high technologies and expertise in movie production. We have seen them pull it off in movies like Ije, Tenant and the likes; here they come again with another blockbuster movie D’Comeback. Shot in the US, and first premiered in April, 2010 in Bethesda, Maryland.

Premiered in Nigeria on the 29th of September, D’Comeback is an infusion of dance, drama, action, romance and comedy loosely based on the biblical character David with a modern twist. It showcases the life of David, who through extraordinary leadership is able to influence the lives of many and gain their support and devotion. The film reveals that the biggest challenge of man is the fight within, against his own lust and pride.

According to Prominent Cease Entertainment the producers of the movie, the aim of the outfit is to produce good movies that will pass a positive message to the people.

“As Africans in the Diaspora, we seek to bring critical acclaim to the African movie industry by producing movies that go against the current norm: our movies will have good sound quality, interesting story line, good acting and send a positive message to our community”. Wale Odusanya the spokesperson for Prominent Cease Entertainment said.

Prominent Cease Entertainment is an entertainment company with a Christian foundation and a focus on bringing acclaim to the Nigerian and broader African Entertainment industry. The company is involved in scriptwriting, acting, music production, animation, marketing and business strategies. The outfit is out to change the landscape of the Nigerian and broader African Entertainment Industry by introducing quality entertainment to a worldwide audience in a way that showcases the richness of African talent and results in positive social change.

A few months ago I stumbled a track called Kele Kele by Tiwa Savage !! Instantly I was stunned by the amazing vocal range shown on the track and immediately I had to find out who exactly she was

Tiwa Savage was born and bred in Lagos, Nigeria. She is a Singer/Songwriter signed to SONY USA Record Label. She graduated from the renowned Berklee College of Music in 2007 and has since then been working with music producers in the Industry. Tiwa began her music in the UK touring as a background singer for artists such as Mary J Blige, STING, George Michael , Kelly Clarkson and Spice Girls. She participated in the X-Factor – the British competition that spawned American Idol and made it to the top 24. She has worked with A – list artists such as Fantasia, AKON, Snoop Dogg and Babyface and shared the stage with the likes of Beyonce, Black eyed Peas and 50 Cents. She is world class artist currently working on her album and ready to take the Nigerian Music Industry to the next level.

Savage has an advantage that many singers don’t—her business background. And she’s capitalized on that by majoring in professional music here at Berklee and focusing on music business, songwriting, and music production classes. “It’s helping me now with my band, when we get contracts, when we have to pay people, when we have to be professional in dealing with people,” says Savage. “Sometimes when people see that you’re educated and you know what you’re talking about, they don’t really want to mess with you, swindle you or something.”

Savage has already had a glimpse of the pressures of fame. Last year she participated in X Factor—the British competition that spawned American Idol—and made it to the top 24. The press was trying so hard to find out the results of the competition before it was televised that they were camped out in front of the hotel hoping to catch a glimpse of one of the finalists “As soon as you wake up there’s a camera crew in front of the hotel, people trying to snap pictures of you in the bathroom,” says Savage. “So we had to disguise our names when we were checking into hotels and restaurants, use Mickey Mouse or Tinker Bell.”

The limelight was difficult to deal with at the time, but Savage thinks it’s prepared her for the realities of the career she’s aiming for. “You have to always realize that people are watching. When I got the bad news that I wasn’t getting through [to the final 12] it was a really painful time. But you still have to learn how to hold that until you get home. Because you don’t want to just let everything out. People admire you and want to see that you’re strong; they don’t want to see you breaking down.”

Tiwa is now ready to make the step up releasing a brand new album on the Nigerian Market and has been in lagos working hard to promote her upcoming album . She has also completed the video shoot for her single kele kele and the video will be out really soon . From what we heard so far we cannot wait for full release of her album.Watch out for Tiwa she is definitely a star in the making !! Streetnaij say so ..In the meantime enjoy her latest single entitled ‘Ife wa gbono’ (Our love is burning) featuring Leo and produced by mercurial talent that is Sossick !! All I can say is ‘Tiwa o ni baje o ‘

From ‘Holding Hope’ to ‘Busting out’ to ‘Save our Souls’, Nollywood can be said to be in the mood for movie premiering. Right now another star studded movie ‘Bent Arrow’ featuring Joke Silva, Olu Jacobs, Stella Damasus, Enebeli Elebuwa, Desmond Elliot, Ngozi Ezeonu, Omoni Oboli etc. is set to be premiered by 6pm at the Silverbird Galleria in Abuja on 9th of September, 2010.

Directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen and produced by Isang Ubong-Awah ‘Bent Arrows’ storylines weave together to illuminate the human consequences of sexual abuse, betrayal, undue parental control and the male child syndrome on both the society, and specifically, on young girls.

For the first time in the history of movie making in Nigeria an independent soundtrack album was produced for a movie. The ‘Bent Arrow’ soundtrack album was produced by Nigeria’s foremost music producer, Mr. Cobhams Asuquo with different genres of music and featured notable Nigerian singers like Styl Plus of Olufunmi fame, the Rooftop MCs (Lagimo), Nikki Laoye, Stella Damasus etc. the 7 track album has songs like A Brighter Day Will Come, Loved From the Start, Bent Arrow a ballad and so many more.

A film in a class of its own ‘Bent Arrows’ was post-produced in South Africa to bring the work to international standards. The Bent Arrows movie and the Bent Arrows soundtrack album was funded by Alphabridges Limited presently managed by Isang Ubong-Awah, a writer/ astute business manager with over five years experience in developing and running a media outfit.

Speaking on the movie, the producer Isang Ubong-Awah said ‘ Bent Arrows is a film that is not hideous about the realities of life, it shows that things may not always go the way we plan, and sometimes we will meet with circumstances that will pull us down but if we have faith we can rise above any challenge’.

Written to connect with audiences within and outside Nigeria ‘Bent Arrows’ is set to be a yardstick for excellent and innovative entertainment.
