Silver Creek is a mining ghost town in Clear Creek County. The town never had a post office of its own, but received its mail via the Lawson post office. The town is only accessible via unimproved road. Most of the mines were located upstream from the town. Originally known as Daileyville after James Dailey, a local mine manager, the inhabitants soon changed the name to Silver Creek after the local stream that flows into Clear Creek near Lawson. The town was first settled around 1875 when silver ore depositswere discovered in the area; however, it was not officially incorporated until 1885. I was sitting in Civics my Freshman year which was my white 2 class and I was waiting for the bell to ring so I could meet up with my friend Shelbie and go out to lunch. Finally, the bell rang and I met up with Shelbie in the hall by my locker for what we thought would be a somewhat normal lunch period....but we were way off. I ask Shelbie to come to the bathroom with me since I didn't really like going into the Freshman bathroom. So she agreed to go with me and what happened next was what happened to us.

When you first pull into riverdale it seems like a nice winding road in the country.

Once you get farther into the road you notice a couple of tree's that look to be VERY old ( across from some curving driveway?). We got out to take a closer look, and it just felt creepy. We looked at the tree and figured some creepy things from the tree. At the bottom it looked like someone carved a hole into it on the right side, like someone could pop out and scare you. The branches look old and frail. Like they were going to brake off anytime. I did not see anything, but heard people whispering and walking past us.

We kept going forward to where we stopped again at what seemed to be a VERY old farm house on our right( has a road light above it) and with a mysterious creepy creek that looked to be old. She is said to haunt the area and those who have been there say you see figures in the fields around the tree. On the second to last day of the RMFU camp,several attendees and counsellors saw a woman in a white dress across the river from the A-frame. A few of the people running the camp (a young man and woman that were counsellors) went to see if she was ok and needed help. The young man came back to the camp but the young woman that went with him was gone. He said that she had gone home early for personal reasons, but later confided in myself and 2 other campers that when they got across the river, the woman in white was gone but the woman counsellor came back with large, deep fingernail scratches on her body. It was rather odd and could have been a camp concoction but I doubt it. While this house is not available to tours, etc. I lived in this house for 8+ years. Currently there is a family that raises buffalo and has a store that you can shop at on weekends. Casually ask if they have heard/seen what I have seen/heard.

When my family lived there in the 1911 farmhouse, every morning at 730 am, you could hear very distinct footsteps leave one of the upstairs bedrooms and descend the stairs. It was sort of a slow shuffle as if an old man was walking about.

There was also other creepy places such as the early 1900's barn which had several areas that had cold spots and bad feelings about them.

This is a very interesting house that was originally a post office that obviously has some past tennants that refuse to leave

Before I begin, for those of you who aren't familair with Larkspur, Co. it is a very SMALL town physically, but a very BIG town mailing addresswise. Where all of these sighting occured is in the Larkspur mailing area, but covers the Highway 105, Greenland, Cherry Valley and Palmer lake/Monument regions of Douglas and El Paso Counties.

Now on to the sighing. I am currently 22 years old but the sightings started when I was 17 years old. I was a bit late getting my drivers license and was driving home from a late night game of bowling in Palmer Lake in my old pickup truck. The following sighting cannot be attributed to a lack of lighting due to the time of night because my pickup had far more that 2 million candlepower worth of offroad lights on at the time.

Riverdale Road is located either in Thornton or Brighton, Colorado. Their is an old dairy farm their and near the farm is a tree. Legend has it, 3 witches either hung themselves or were hung.

Keota is a mostly abandoned town located on the prairie in the Pawnee National Grasslands in Weld County. Keota was established as a homestead in 1880 by two sisters, Mary and Eva Beardsley and sold to the Lincoln Land and Cattle Co. in 1888. Keota was a station stop on the "Old Prairie Dog Express" on the Colorado-Wyoming Division of the Burlington Missouri -Railroad. The railroad was abandoned and the trackage removed in 1975. Keota lost its incorporated status in 1990. The last operating post office closed in 1890. The school was established in 1888 and closed sometime in 1951. The foundation is still there.

Nearby points of interest include the Ludlow Monument, a monument to the coal miners and their families who were killed in the 1914 massacre, the Hastings coke ovens, and the Victor American Hastings Mine Disaster Monument.

Calumet is a former mining town founded in 1904, near the portal of the Calumet Coal Mine complex. Calumet is now a ghost town in Huerfano County, northwest of Walsenburg. One of the mines, Calumet No. 2, was briefly owned by Henry J. Kaiser and maintained by Kaiser Steelbetween 1924 and 1971. Although small even for an underground coal mine, in 1961, the Calumet Mine was the county's leading producer. Climax was an unincorporated mining village and a former U.S. Post Office located in Lake County. Climax is known for its large molybdenum ore deposit. Climax is located along the Continental Divide at an elevation of about 11,360 feet. It was the highest human settlement in the United States, and it holds the record for having had the country's second highest Post Office and the highest railroad station. The highest post office was at Summitville mine in Rio Grande County. The residential houses were all transported to the West Park subdivision of Leadville, Colorado, before 1965, leaving only the mining buildings standing.

At its peak, Crystal had 400+ residents in Crystal and the surrounding mining claims, two newspapers, a pool hall, a men's club, a barber shop and two hotels. In 1915, only eight people lived there. In early 2003, my mother, younger brother, and I were driving south along old Highway 666 (now known as highway 491), in the southwestern quadrant of the town. This is where Main Street meets the Highway, within a stone's throw from a Burger King, the local middle school, and a truck stop.

The sun was setting, and over the horizon we could see three red dots arranged in a triangle, with everything inside of the triangle pitch black. It was just hovering there, and the three of us were definitely confused. It seemed as though it were drifting slightly, headed towards the sunset. My mother and I decided to take a right turn down a residential street to 'follow' this thing as best we could, and after we tailed it for about 45 seconds, it took off faster than anything I've ever seen in my life. After shows, especially overnight, several "beings" are active in the room. They will touch. Some people see them as orbs and some hear them. They seem friendly; in fact the touchers are too friendly (porn years?). They seem to like what is going on. They will also spill drinks and trip people on the stairs. While the humans are perfectly capable of doing this themselves, I personally have seen a "stair push" and several dozen levitating glasses that crash to the floor.

Drunks usually just drop glasses. These would move up then out and down.
