That awkward moment when you realized that it has been a month since I wrote anything on my blog.

A N Y T H I N G

Say AWKWARD!!! So here I am after a super long (or is it?) hiatus! I've tons of stuff to blog about and in fact there are a couple of drafted posts with beautiful photos but just so y'know, I couldn't bring myself to write 'em out. Not having a "writer's block" but just that sometimes I get so overwhelmed by how exciting life can be that words aren't enough to describe it?!!

But today I am taking the challenge to overcome my emotions and will share some great moments I had recently on my first ever yatch experience.

So thankful to MOX DEALS, I can now strike off "To go on a yatch ride" off my bucket list!!! Now before you click on the link above and scratch your head to death on what MOX DEALS about.... CHILL!!! You will get to know everything you need to know by the end of this post. :)

You bet yourself but I guess many of you reading this will be unfamiliar with the place below. Don't worry, you are not alone. Even my cabbie wasn't very sure! You can only imagine how the fare meter was rising and the anxious feeling going on the inside of me but I sure did let out a huge sigh of relieve when I finally made it to One Degree 15 Marina Club over at Sentosa Cove!!

Very rare to see bloggers being shy with the camera, in fact every one was armed with their own cameras. Poor Felicia bending her knees for over 15 different cameras! I'd be lying if I said I counted, but one can figure it out with the number of bloggers there.

This is Leanna the Marketing Communications Manger from MOX DEALS making sure everyone was feeling comfortable on-board. Oh yeah! We had to take off our footwear before we went on board for safety reasons.

There was this point of time when our yatch was very close to a cargo ship cruising ahead of us! If a giraffe was on board, it would have probably had a sloppy wet kiss with the cargo ship!!! Thanks to our Captain everyone is back safely to their bases!

Have you caught Jack Neo's latest movie, "We Not Naughty"? Man!! It's a must watch! Thanks to the guys in Nuffnang, Jacklyn and I got to watch the movie together with the cast on Thursday!! It was also a first time, well at least for me, that people actually gave a roaring applause at the end of the movie. Alright, let me bring you back in time and tell you what we did before the movie screening before I share what I learned from "We Not Naughty".

I beg your pardon, but I only remember that I had Pumpkin soup... I forgot the exact name of the dish as well as the name of the restaurant. But fortunately, the movie is still as fresh in my head and I better blog about it before further memory lost!!

What I learned from the movie?
1. To love the unlovable - - - There are people in your life that are annoying or not easy to get along with. Not everyone will wanna play along with your rules. But like in the movie, CK, the lecturer, was persistent and very willing to help his students. It was hilarious to see a lecturer acting in that manner (the person sitting beside me in the theatre had to bear with my ear-deafening laughter), but at the same time it his same actions that touched my heart. Everyone yearns for affirmation /compliments and appreciative words. Be generous in appreciating others and don't wait too long to say, "I LOVE YOU". (guess that's hard for Asians to be open with our feelings eh? yet everyone longs and needs it every one and then.)
2. Family - - - Every family is not perfect and has its own dysfunctions. And really, a unhappy family can't communicate. But despite everything, they will be always by your side, through thick and thin. I tried my best to hold my tears but failed to do so. (I bet Jacklyn didn't know that!!!) The part where Wei Jie (Shawn Lee) buys somethings special for his sister. Awwwww...... (shall not spoil the movie for you!!)
3. Stay Positive - - - I like how the movie ended, with "it's (THE END) that matters". With a positive attitude, no dream is impossible to reach!!!
There were stuff like Youtube, Blog, language barriers etc. that I can identify with in the movie. At certain parts of the movie, you can't help but think about someone you know or even shamelessly know it in your gut that it was SO YOU!!!

yea!!! It was a blast at the New Year's Day Countdown and personally I feel that it was one of the best countdowns I've had. I don't know about you, but I didn't really start 2011 in a good note. Not that it was bad but it just felt that in all that was going on, there was still something a miss but thankfully I don't feel like that anymore and I'm so thankful for the fact for the friends that stood by me throughout the year!
How we "finish" is more important than how we "begin." There was a point in time in 2011 that I wanted to call it all quits... oh man!! Thank God, I didn't give up!! Friends certainly thought me how to never give up by sticking together through and above all, I'm truly grateful for God's grace + favor over my life in 2011.

Back from a 5 day hiatus. Actually, during the 5 days I was having my In-Camp Training. The day before my ICT, I was really anxious about the days ahead. My Mum and brother weren't in town and that made things a little dull. I was feeling ill (coughing + heaty) and many thoughts were ripping my head apart. Anyhow, the Hor Fun my Dad bought for dinner made me feel a little better but still I needed 'something' to boost me up!

Got Weixuan to call me when I went across the road to withdraw some money for the week ahead. It seemed as if he knew everything that was in my heart and talking to him was so encouraging and our call would have gone for hours if I didn't have to wake up very early the next morning. Couldn't thank God for sucha awesome friend to have and speak into my life. I remember him telling me not to worry about nothing. Yes, I got no idea what I was feeling anxious about ! I was also touched when he shared how I was a blessing to him, out of the blue, in a very genuine way and told me I shouldn't stop at one person! Even if the other party doesn't appreciate, I must keep on loving!

One thing that echoed in my heart throughout my ICT was Weixuan telling me to smile always. The choice to complain like the others or t o keep clam in situations that I couldn't handle. I made sure that I was smiling when I was tempted not to. There was even a night in my bunk where I was having unstoppable laughter. A person's joy is really his strength! I'm grateful for all the favor of my peers and superiors toward me. Thankfully, the pandonal came in handy at times when my body temperature was a little too hot!!

Giving out rations to the company was really fun. It gave me the opportunity to talk to many people that I wouldn't have talked to. It is always interesting to see the people that will come across your path in life. I'm thankful to God's presence came down so strong when I was singing "Healer" very softly, while traveling in the tonner.

The proudest moment for me was when I broke my personal record for my 2.4KM run. My timing 11:30!!! I guess I shocked a lot of people around me. My photos were even flashed on the big screen to the whole battalion on the last day. Also collected my pixilated uniforms and sent them back into the storeroom where they belong, till the next year.

Singapore Kindness Movement (World Kindness Day)

About a week ago, on November 13th, I joined a bunch of Nuffnangers to celebrate World Kindness Day (WKD) together with the Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) . Although it was the third time that we WKD is being celebrated here in Singapore, it was my first time and what a better way to celebrate it with some awesome bloggers in town. All of us got changed into our eye-catching gears and were patiently awaiting for the media briefing. At the briefing we had Dr William Wan, General Secretary, Singapore Kindness Movement to brief us on what to do . Not only that we were also given some refreshments + goodie bags. Can you spot me?

If you have lived long enough in this part of the world, you probably would remember this widely loved, one-time forgotten Courtesy Mascot. Yes, Singa!!! You can follow him on twitter as he continues to aspire to inspire graciousness one kind act at a time. Follow his tweets here.

The crowd outside Orchard Ion was buzzing with excitement in the air. Everyone was armed with gerbera daisies. 500 volunteers thronged the island’s shopping belt downtown and surprised passers-by with the flowers. The flowers are meant to affirm kind acts witnessed and to spread the idea of kindness “blossoming” around the island. Can you believe it? 30,000 yellow gerbera daisies were given out to complete strangers!!!

Funny man Daniel Ong was the MC for the day and he joked about him being the kindest DJ in Singapore. The bloggers were given an opportunity to kick-start the event and share the stage with the Guest of Honor, Minister. Dr. Yaacob Ibrahim. What an honor!! It was interesting to see the enormous yellow gerbera daisy growing out from the pot as Minister watered the pot!

It was really an awesome experience for me giving out yellow gerbera daisies to strangers and not expecting anything in return. It was heart-warming to see the smile on the faces of people and that made it worth-while. Making someone's day can just simply be saying a simple "thank-you" with a smile on your face.
Ran into Velda Tan of Love Bonito (a popular blogshop in Singapore) and also had a Kodak moment with Daniel Ong.

FOREX With GK Goh

Recently, I had a chance to learn some basic and background information about FOREX trading with Terraseeds + G.K. Goh Financial Services. We had a two hours session with Binni Ong where she shared with us the basics of FOREX trading.

G.K. Goh's demo platform for new traders like me to trade virtual money.

It was kinda hard to understand certain terms in just two hours and for a person like me with no experience in finance it was quite a challenge to absorb as much as I can within the short period of time. FOREX is not something that can be learned in a day for sure. I guess as a new trader we need to do out 'homework' by reading up with the plenty of literature available both in print and the Internet. I also believe that new traders need to have a experienced trader as their 'mentor'. This 'mentor' will guide us by giving a suitable path based on their experience , which will save us a lot of trial and error.

It is almost impossible to analyze price charts and mention of support and resistance of currency paris without knowing technical analysis because it is really a game of managing support and resistance and know what the trend is. I can recall the silly mistakes I made, like buying and selling a wrong currency pair. Thankfully, it was just virtual money.

I guess above all, we need to invest time into trading if we want to be a good trader. The more we trade the more we learn. Situations are moving very rapidly in the market. You should never be trading on someone else's opinion because FX is fluid. The demo trading is a good starting ground to develop your strategies and to improve + refine them until you win money consistently.

I was thinking very hard whether to post this video on this post but finally did because I guess it is an experience worth sharing. Yes, I was singing in the choir yesterday and we got to do a special item - "Remember Us", changing the worship experience to a whole new level. I heard from my friends that they were in tears when the choir performed.
Recently, while youtubing, I came across a video of City Harvest KL's recent new building dedication video. I had a happy thought that one day during worship we'd have some stained church glass on the huge LED boards similar to the one I saw in that video. I fell in love the stained glasses the moment I saw them during the practice on Friday night. I was really psyched for the weekend. I am very grateful that I could be part of this and touch many lives in ways I couldn't have imagined.
I was a little disappointed with myself for forgetting to change my RT bookings and making a wasted trip all the way to Bedok. (Although it is my fault for not booking the right date, I still find it funny that we can't do the booking on the day. I'm sure they could accommodate many more on Sundays.) Oh well, lesson learnt.
I received five hugs and a roaring applause from CG mates at Church yesterday making my it awesome. My Inflections reading going great too! I kinda like the audio bible from youversion - brings you on a adventure and makes reading even more exciting. The little joys in life is having to read the bible with my favorite peeps in the world and know that we are on the same page. ;)

Yesterday, I had my first RT session. There is a first for everything and so it was my very first time going for the Sunday afternoon slot. Since there were only a handful of us, the instructors decided to combined everyone to do the interval training together. The run was too intense for me. A sick feeling just swept through me so I decided to go to the toilet to catch a breather/ take a break. I puked Beef Chili Cheese fries that I had for lunch. It was just too intense for the first time. One of the guys also told me that this was the most "shiong" training ever (and it was his third). Thankfully, I was feeling much better when I puked everything out. They didn't sell mineral water in the vending machines so I took the risk of drinking Fuji apple. Gosh! It never felt so good to drink apple juice. I needed more stuff to chill myself so I decided to get myself a tub of fresh mango snow frost. Feeling so much better now.

To kick start a personal goal to be a friendlier person, I gave Wei Xuan the bottle of sticky sweets. He told me that it might seem like a small gift for me to give him, but it was a great blessing of friendship to receive. I also gave some of the girls in my CG a cute miniature from 7-11.

On Saturday night I also inspired, 3 guys to read Matthew 1-4 with me. It was sucha great feeling when they came and told me or were trying to finish the reading before service. Couldn't have asked for more. My heart is full and it is definitely something I like to do with my friends. ;)

SMRT Makan Session [Esplanade Xchange]

It was a spontaneous decision to go for this "makan session" at the Esplanade Xchange. It was a hassle to find our way out, thanks to Formula 1, road blockages everywhere. So we walked for Tanjong Pagar to Esplanade MRT! A little workout on a Saturday afternoon.
Some of the other bloggers were already there, enjoying their bubble tea from Eskimo. We were then introduced to the pudding milk tea and many other flavors. I was too spoilt for choice that I was the last one to place my orders. Considering that it was my first time trying from that store, I decided to go with the recommendation from the menu. I chose Hazelnut milk tea.
Everybody should go and try the Bak Chor Mee! It is worth the money and definitely mouth watering!Just when I thought it was over, we were told that we will be having Red Mango for desserts. I mixed every flavor available for us to pick.
People were teasing Wendy and I for wearing the same colors. Trust me, I had no idea she was gonna turn out in that color. It was PURELY COINCIDENTAL! Really.
SMRT even gave us some goodies from Sticky!! I LOVE CIRCLE LINE CANDY!!!! Super cute. It's so cute that I have yet to eat it. Maybe I should give it away this weekend. Sticky candy anyone?

What were you doing on the eve of National Day? For me, it was a day, at the Universal Studious Singapore. My first ever! Quite a number of Singaporeans were there too. All of them on leave? Well, my cousins did not go to school either. I wonder what excuse they came up with. Thankful to my aunty who gave us a treat or just the entry would have damaged my wallet badly. The last I was at an amusement park was my trip to Escape? That was a friggin' long time back, in the 90s?!

I was kinda excited but also a little hesitant about going on the roller coaster rides because years ago a doctor told me to avoid fast rides as it might cause stress on my eyes. But since I survived the Wild Wild Wet Slide last year, I thought I should give it go!!

It was super crowded that I couldn't take a photo without me pretending to be the only one there.

At least I've been to Hollywood in Singapore. I really love how Hollywood looks at night, something magical and alive.
A day full of thrills and loads of fun!!! I enjoyed myself for sure. x

Back from a whole bunch of celebrations, was so caught in the moment that I kinda neglected this space. I thought I would take this time to remember and share the special moments during my birthday this year here. Before I forget, I ended my 24th (tried so hard to not mention my age!) year, by playing basketball with Enoch and his friends at SP. Not as bad as I thought it would be, in fact, it was fun and at least I didn't have the ball running after me. I was overwhelmed by the number of greetings and the people who will wish me. It really makes your day when you were looking forward to someone's wish or thought of that special someone and he/she places a note or sends you a text. (of course I really love the people who personally text!! It makes it a lot more special, when receiving private things like these are sucha rarity. Nobody writes cards these days uh?! Not true, my brother received tons of cards. I'm jelly!!!

Anyhow, joining me for a movie for the second year! My birthday "movie kahiks" --- Yu Ting and Yong Sheng bought me tickets to a movie that I wanted to watch badly! "Your New Daughter" --- it was a thriller but was giving us the thrill we needed, with probably the most lamest ending ever. It reminded me of "Left 4 Dead". Apparently, that zombie was the new daughter. Opps. The most epic thing that happened other than the movie was the fact that we didn't take any photos together. :( But I really wanna say a big thank you to both of you, for accompanying me for this movie and your friendship. Really appreciate it!!! A little did I know that I was set up for a surprise by Trena and Sarah. Trena was directing me to Cotton On at 313 and a group of familiar faces were hiding behind Ryan Hong. Gosh!!! I was so shocked that I forgot that was on the phone with Trena. Although I don't really fancy surprises, I'm a person who likes to know what is happening next, I admit that it was really a pleasant surprise that I could have.

The CG mates that came to give me a SURPRISE!!! They bought for me a purple tee from Fourskin!! yay!!!
After roaming around with our hungry stomachs, we finally decided to have dinner at Botak Jones. Yummy!!! (btw, that's Gideon.)
The "Meet-Up Gang" also got Cedric and I some gifts from Muji!!! (and it fits!!! --- really dislike receiving gifts that are oversized or too small to fit.) yay! New boxers to wear!!!
Aunty Rose gave Cedric and I + a few other family members a treat at Thai Express. Truly blessed.

The most unique gift was a TALLY COUNTER from Aaron Low. He told me to use it daily to declare the promises of God over my life. He also told me that he rushed down just before our supper meet-up to get this for me. Super touched. Thank you so much for the Beancurd, Soyabean drink, Fritters Dough and the yummylious tofu-fries.

Diana saved the day with her hand-made card!!! x (I love receiving hand-made stuff, even if it is just a scribble/doodle with your name on it!)

I would like to end this post by saying a big thank you to everyone who wrote me messages on my Facebook wall, on my BBM, Whatsapp, text and even called me to wish me a happy birthday. Thank you for all the gifts and treats + meet-ups!! It wasn't like that one year ago, so I feel that I've finally made it through the lonely, to the other side...and I mean it when I say I love you guys... from the bottom of my heart!!! (phew!!!...this is so much easier than telling it in front of so many people.)
