This is a part of a project I’m working on at the moment for design lessons of my studies at the University of Applied Sciences HTW Chur in Switzerland. The Triptychon has the subtitle «Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow» and should reflect my childhood, now and the ‘far away future’ … :-)

This is the largest and most spectacular structure along the 63-kilometre stretch of the Albula Line between Thusis and St. Moritz (UNESCO World Heritage status). The Landwasser Viaduct is widely-admired both by specialists in engineering and the public in general. The construction in 1901/02 of the three main pillars was, and is, a masterpiece of civil engineering - and all the more so when we consider that they were built without scaffolding and using just two cranes. The 142 metre-long bridge carries the railway line in an impressive sweeping arch of 65 metres in height over the wild valley of Landwassertal, before plunging it into a tunnel cut into the towering vertical rock face. The Landwasser Viaduct is now undergoing its first major re-build in 106 years (from March to November 2009).

*snief* … sorry folks - i have to quit my «Project 365» after just 67 Photographs / Days … I definitely have too much to work and study and much too less time to take a more-or-less good picture every day … :-/ I - of course - will remain posting photos this year (more than the last years ;-) ) … but unfortunately not every day anymore … i just have to less time for that … :’-(
