I had the need for several Graduation cards this year and just remembered that I had not ever posted them her. I used the Blue Ribbon stamp set, another one that I've had forever but hadn't ever used. It was silly to not have used it because it's a GREAT set. It covers birthdays, promotions, congratulations, accomplishments of all kinds!

Coastal Cabana & Bermuda Bay Thank You

During my blog hopping I saw a card made my Patty Bennett at pattystamps.com and loved her card so much just had to CASE it with a few changes.

The new InColor Coastal Cabana is such a beautiful color and it pairs so beautifully with Bermuda Bay. The new InColor ribbon is great too although it had to grow on me I was not taken with it in the beginning. But now I'm hooked! It really adds some fun to your cards. I was also able to use the new Lots of Thanks stamp too, just love the "a thousand thanks" sentiment.

Quick Tip: The new Hexagon Punch is the absolute best for adding the tails to your banners. Simply slide your strip of paper into the punch, line up the point and edges of the banner strip on the outside edge of the punch and punch! Perfect banner tails every time!

I ran the whisper white paper through the Big Shot using the Chevron folder and THEN punched out my peekaboo hole, saving that punched portion to use on the inside of the card. Made a super cute focal point for the inside :)

SSC52 Birthday Morning Meadow

This card was inspired by the sketch over at Sunday Stamps Challenge. I chose to work with some of the 2013-2015 In Colors, which by the way are beautiful. So happy they will be around a couple of years. I also decided to ink up one of the new Hostess sets for this year called Morning Meadow.

Banners seem to be all the rage this year and so the Hexagon punch arrived just in time so that the banner tails are so easy to make using it. Just slide that banner strip into your hexagon line up the strip on the first edge and punch, perfect banner tails every time. Super simple design, quick to make but oh so pretty!

I am simply loving the new stamp offerings from the 2013-2014 catalog and one of my favorite so far is the set Timeless Talk

The detailed images of this set and the Firm Foam Inkpads are just a perfect combination. The stamped image is just beautiful! I also loved the sketch challenge over at TechnoStamper this week and so wanted to work with it again and I just hadn't had enough of the color combination from yesterday so used that again, it was real red, old olive and marina mist........so pretty. Here is the sketch again that I am working as inspiration.

Pretty happy with how it turned out and it was a fun card to make. I really wanted to use the new Oval Frames but to make the image fit properly on the Label frame required tilting the oval, I wasn't sure that would work but the two little flower bunches using the new Candy Dots and hardware pulled it all together. If you are a dog lover you will know what I mean when I say you occasionally meet a dog that just works it's way into your heart, well this little Deaf White Boxer was the doggie. He is as sweet as he is handsome.

More new goodies. I’m have the most fun playing with these new products, they seem especially fantastic this year. Today I did another sketch challenge from Technostamper. Mary Jo has a new sketch challenge to take part in each week. They start on Monday and you have until Sunday night to get your creations posted on to her site. I would be up a creek without challenges, my creative juices need a nudge to get going I’m not naturally creative.

Here is the sketch for this week I thought it was a great beginning point and gave me the chance to use lots of items for the big shot including our new Magnetic plate that holds the frames in place while cutting your shapes, it’s truly fantastic. I also wanted to use one of my favorite color combinations, real red, marina mist and old olive. I chose the new Tag It stamp set for the image which is just too cute for words, every image in it is just adorable and they all coordinate with the new Chalk Talk Framelits (which I did not use this time). And here it is!

Is that image not the cutest thing you have ever seen? That little Lizard with his big eyes just makes you smile. I colored this image with the markers to get this multi-color effect on the single image stamp. The other wonderful thing about this stamp set is that it is a set that SU has made to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities. So with the purchase of each of these sets SU will donate $3 to the charity. That’s a win win situation if you ask me! This card turned out to be a really fun card and SUPER easy to make.

LTSC266 Timeless Talk Hello

Sorry it’s taken me so long to return, this past week as been a mess after the last round of storms the Friday before last. My house was not so lucky this time, although I have NOTHING to complain about compared to others here in Oklahoma. This one was much closer to us this time and was entirely to scary for the pups and I. I lost one section of fence which is not a good thing when you have DOGS and damage to my roof. My neighbor to the east of me had a beautiful big tree and it is what wrecked havoc on mine and my neighbors house. He got it so much worse though, it tore his roof up terribly and then we had the torrential rains after the storm and it basically ruined everything in his house. Poor guy. Here are a couple of pictures of my house. That was just one section of the debris it when the length of the curb on the other side of my driveway too. I’m hoping Oklahoma will get a break from deadly storms, enough is enough!!

Okay now on to something more fun! I got my first order in from the new catalog, I unpacked it all last night and had SO MUCH fun doing it. So this morning I sit out to get the new of my goodies

I tried a new color combination listed for the in In Colors for 2013-2015 of Coastal Cabana (new color), Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry (new old color) and combined that with Techno Stampers Monday Sketch Challenge 266. In that same order of goodies that I received I got the new Patterned paper pack so used some of the Coastal Cabana(130136) and Pumpkin Pie(130134). It’s bright but I love it!! The new Timeless Talk (126607) saw some ink and I was able to use the new Brights Candy Dots(130931) instead of messing with a brad! LOVE THEM!!! And here is what I came up with . I just can’t say enough about how wonderful the firm foam pads are the colors are so bright and crisp, the stamped images pop off the page. Island Indigo Birthday

Tomorrow is the big day, the Stampin’ UP! 201 3-2014 catalog goes live. My wish list is as long as my arm,it’s going to be difficult to limit myself but alas I must.

Today I’m sharing another sneak peek with you just under the wire. This is the new Label Love set paired with the new Artisan Label punch which I LOVE

I paired this with a couple of colors I wouldn’t have thought I would like together. But that is the beauty of Designer Series Papers they give you that nudge to try colors you might not normally consider. That is another sneak peek on this card, this paper is from the new DSP paper pack Gingham Garden, it is such a pretty pack.

Birthday Banner Explosion!

Here is another new set that will be in the 2013-2014 catalog called Banner Greetings. It’s a fun sentiment set with lots of great greetings to chose. For some reason when I looked at the little banner I just kept thinking of an out going explosion hence this silly card!

I used one of the new In Color choices, Cantaloupe Crisp. Layered it on Soft Suede that looks very pretty with it and fussy cut a very narrow edge around the banner. It was very easy to do because of the simple straight edges.

Very simple and easy to complete! Just my kind of card.

There was a HUGE city wide Rescue event here in Oklahoma City called Rub-a-Dub Race for Rescues. They had a 5k walk, pup wash, dog agility demonstrations (fly ball it was very good!!!), vendor booths and lot of animal rescue groups with many wonderful dogs hoping to find their new homes! I took Declan out there to meet a family interested in him, they had been following his progress throughout his treatment as he healed from the terrible condition he was in whenever Forever Yours Dog Rescue took him in. And here' s the REALLY exciting news they took him home with them for weekend to see if they might be a good fit for each other. Please wish him luck, the Mom of the family Angela is a VERY nice lady!! Here’s Dec asking if he is new family had been found???Doesn’t he look hopeful here??

After the fun of the day I was able to make it to the craft room and work on cards! Always fun. I wanted to use the Label Love set and some more of the Gingham Garden DSP (which is so pretty!) And I also needed a Thank You card to send out so this is what I came up with.

I was really happy with the way it turned out. It didn’t start that way it was one of those that the way I was seeing in my head and the way it was turning out were NOT the same thing. But after tinkering with it a bit I was pretty happy with it

Wildflower Meadow in a rainbow of In Colors

I was reading my feedly blogs and looking for inspiration for a project. I had clicked on Techno Stampers blog because I love her style it leans toward the simple and that is all me!! On one of her sketch challenges she had made the same card using each of the 5 new 2013-2014 In Colors. I decided to try the same thing and I was super happy with the results they turned out quite pretty.

I paired this idea with the new Wildflower Meadow and Really Good Greetings stamp sets. I also used a variety of punches to frame the sentiments that I used on each card. Here is what I came up with. PLEASE, ignore my messy desk in the background there were too many cards to get into the shot in side of the background setup

An additional Note: Oklahoma suffered terrible tornadoes yesterday but I am same and sound as well as all the fur children, it was definitely too close for comfort. The destruction started about 2 miles south of my home. There are so many suffering right now and so many displaced animals. Grab your loved ones and fur children and hug them tight and say a prayer for those here that are suffering now.

Another Fab Friday Challenge Card

The challenge this week was a color challenge and the colors where great and so easy to work with, so I of course just had to do another card using them.

And of course since I’m in love with Mosaic Madness and it’s coordinating accessories it’s what I used.

This one I didn’t want to take away from the design on front by using a sentiment but instead used just a birthday sentiment on the inside. I liked this color challenge so much I know I will continue to use it as a go to combination in the future. Without further ado ……………..

Another Fab Friday challenge

Fab Friday's challenge this week was a color challenge and since I work best when I have some "direction", I'll never be a unique design person I'm just not that creative! I loved all of these colors but had not ever used them together so I knew this was going to be fun.

I of course had to continue using my new products since they are just so much fun. This set and it's coordinating punch are turning out to be a real fav. I just love the movement you can get between the punch, stamp set and the embossing folder, it makes the design jump right off the page. And these colors just could not have been any prettier together.

Preview Card

The month before SU reveals their new catalog I believe is my favorite time of the year. Now as an adult I think what compares to it in my child's eye would be Christmas! I'm serious it is something I look forward to that much. The saying goodbye to the retired stamp sets and the sadness as I see a favorite ribbon be retired but at the same time know there will be something new that I will wonder how I lived without. And the very best part of the month is the preview product that demos are able to order. This is a select group of products that will be carried in the new catalog that we can order before hand so that we can become familiar with the new product and make some preview projects to showcase those new items. The excitement waiting for that morning when we can see those items and place that order is overwhelming, just like the weeks of waiting for Christmas morning. I know that sounds crazy but I'm a simple girl and it's the little things that get me going!! lol

On of those products that I got to order in the preview was a back ground stamp called Wildflower Meadow, I almost didn't order it as I'm not much of a background stamp girl but it came as a bundle that included an embossing folder at a bit of a discount so I couldn't pass it up. I'm so happy I didn't I've made some cards I'm very happy with using the stamp. Here is one a created this past week.'

Not so new Foster Pup

Part of what I've been doing the last couple of months is taking care of my foster pup Declan who came to me with a terrible case of Demodex Mites and a vicious yeast infection. He was on anti-botics for a long time and has been on ivomectin for the his mange for even longer. He is doing so GOOD though and I want to share a couple of before and after pictures with you!

By the way Declan will be available for adoption in about 1 month. You should run don't walk to get your app in for this guy, he is really a prize and I say that with all seriousness. From the moment he walked into my house when he was so sick he has been the best little patient. He was just happy for the attention he was receiving I guess. We guess that he is not too old maybe about a year and this boy has no bad habits like a puppy always has. He never chews anything he's not supposed to, he doesn't dig, he doesn't carry off valuable items he finds at his level.........ie glasses, remotes, phone as some of my past foster have, who will remain nameless. He is just a happy go lucky boy. His only problem is he will sometimes bark at stuff and I'm blaming that on the demondog Noah who has taught him to use his voice!!

Anywho on with the pictures.

As you can see he has come along way!! I always new he would be a hadsome boy!

Another Challenge Card

Me again, with another Challenge Card for you. This time it's a weekly Challenge give by a Demo group of which I'm a member. These challenges are great if you ever find yourself short on creativity they really help to get you started.

I used the Level 1, hostess set, Country morning it has 3 really cute images and a great sentiment in the set. It is the perfect set for practicing your water coloring technique. I got to use the Old Olive wide striped ribbon on the card, what FUN ribbon this it.

As always a big thank you for stopping by and I'll try to get pictures of my Foster Pups posted soon, they'll only be here until Saturday and I'm already worried about missing them. But they are going to great homes, so that makes me feel better!

Happy New Year - Challenges

Hello everyone, I've been away a really long time! Boy there just isn't enough hours in the day. I wanted to pop in though and wish everyone the Happiest of New Years. I wish nothing but Health, Happiness and Wealth to each of you out there in cyberland.

My New Year's Weekend has been a WONDERFUL stay at home weekend and so I've found time to stamp. I got to stay around the house last weekend too (Christmas) because Oklahoma had a BLIZZARD, yes you read that right a honest to goodness blizzard! It was crazy, I was so glad I was able to stay comfy and warm in my house with my Puppies and they loved it too.

The card below is a product of two challenges Mary Jo's Monday sketch challenge TSSC102 and the Diva Coffee Breaks Color Challenge #158. I just love this turtle from Stampin' UP!'s Nature's Nest stamp set, he's very fun to watercolor.

I certainly appreciate you stopping by to take a look. I'll try to be more consistent but no false promises, because I'm in the Accounting field and I'm getting ready to enter a very busy stressful time. But posting more consistently is one of my New Year's goal, not resolutions, I have a tendency to break those.

One more quick note, I'm very excited because this weekend I'll be part of a wonderful rescue effort to give new Forever Homes to two sweet sweet Pit Bull doggies. They are traveling from San Diego, California to their forever homes and are laying over in Oklahoma City on there way. Since it's a volunteer effort all the transporting is done on the weekends so they need a place to stay on their trip. I'm the lucky girl who will get to foster them. I'll try to take some pictures and post them so you can see their sweet little faces for yourself.

Remember those homeless pets out there who don't want anything but to be apart of a loving home! Adopt DON'T BUY!! You'll save a LIFE!!

New Classes on my schedule

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to check in and let you know I haven't forgotten that I promised to post how to make the cards from the blog tour and I'm most certainly going to do that. I'm having terrible computer problems. I'll be just working along and it powers off like it's going into standby mode. I've had one person look at it and thought we had it fixed (thought it was over heating because it was full of DOGGIE hair......yuck...LOL) but apparently that was not all of the problem. Our computer guys at work are coming in to setup a new system and I'm going to bring it back to work with me to have them check it out! So the recipes are coming, don't give up!

Also my blog candy winner made contact with me and made her choices and her items are on their way to her now!

And one last announcement. The first Christmas Card SAS is scheduled, there will be one a month, August through November. If you come to all 4 classes you will have 40 Christmas cards and matching envelopes prepared come December! Won't that be great?!
