Hi Everyone,

Many of you know that over the past couple of years I've held a seasonal boutique in my home around the holidays. My husband would empty out most of our main floor and I'd section things off into booths and our house would become a store for a day or two, featuring about 20 local crafters. Well, I wanted to take my business to the next level (and Shad is tired of moving furniture!) so he and I decided to move to a new location on State Street in Lindon!

The boutique, called Wilson Avenue Boutique, will 'launch' next week, Thursday May 3rd and runs through Saturday the 5th. We are now much larger with over 40 crafters/vendors participating with room to grow! We have two more shows scheduled for this fall and plan on hosting a total of 4 a year moving forward. We are very excited and hope that those that are local can stop by and say hi!

The location is SUPER easy to find, we really lucked out with a prime State Street location and are thrilled for the potential this small business has. Thank you so much for your love, friendship and support- we hope to see you there!

This Spring banner was so fun to create! It features the Tea Time Simply Scrappin' Kit and a couple clearance items as well. From the photos you can see how to re-create this banner. How fun would it be to put the word 'Easter' in or 'Mother'! Any 6 letter word would work really well with this banner. To see a larger images in this post simply click on the image and you will get a close-up.

TIP: The 'binding' is actually the Pink Pirouette 1 1/4" ribbon located on the Clearance Rack for just $2.99! I folded it in half, and ironed it, creating perfect, inexpensive binding! The Pennant die was also on the rack, although with items being sold out I'm not sure if that die is still there or not.

It's the occasion of the year as the Stampin' Pretty Pals share some fabulous cards and projects featuring Stampin' Up!'s Occasion Mini and Sale-A-Bration products on today's Pals Blog Hop!

My card today features the Elementary Elegance stamp set & the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper- both from SU!'s Sale-A-Bration Catalog.  Living up to their names, these lovely products are indeed elegant and enchanting!

Although hard to see in the picture below, I used our Dazzling Details (glitter glue) to accent the stamped image. Added to the crown, flowers, and popped up butterfly the touch of sparkle looks really great!

Here is a quick tutorial on how to create the unique die cut shape. Shown above in Pool Party and Very Vanilla.

Step #1: Run the Top Note Die through the Big Shot machine. This is how your card stock will look.

Step #2: Turn your card stock side-ways, centering the points and then run through the machine again.

This is what you will get!

Step #3: Do the same to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. Then, taking your Paper Snips, trim just inside the lines as show below. Stamp your image and you are done!

Here are a couple more versions I made using the same stamp set and pack of Designer Series Paper. So many possibilities! Love them!

Today's project is a valentine I've made for my hubby. This card measures 5×5" square making it a cinch to make two from a single sheet of 12×12" paper. When I think of masculine cards I think of well tailored, crisp corners, blues and browns, and maybe that's because my husband's favorite color is blue and his favorite sport is football!

We are making this card at my classes this month as well. Like my last post, it features the 'P.S. I love you' stamp set that is brand new from the Occasions Mini catalog just released this month.  You can view that catalog here or anytime on the right-side of my blog.

Happy New Year fellow crafters! If your December was as nuts as mine was the numbers 2012 did one heck of a sneak up on you! I could not be happier though- I am not a fan of odd numbers and 2011 was a rough year for me- so an even numbered new year is right up my alley! So here is to a new year- that started off with even digits, well, sort of since January is a 1 and the first is a 1… lol!

Ok, to today’s card. I’m very excited for the NEW Occasions Mini catalog! It starts today and runs through April. There are a whole bunch of new exciting stamps sets as well as some killer new accessories!

This card was made with my 9-yr-old son in mind. Every little man in your life needs a little pick-me-up right? This one is to let him know how ‘Totally A-maze-ing’ he is! Since the weather is like spring here in Utah, I decided to take the pics outside- such a beautiful day!

I am diggin’ these cute little mazes! So stinkin’ fun! Yes- they really work!! It might be hard to see in the photo, but there are two little balls inside the maze and I know my son will have fun getting them through the maze. In the center of the maze is stamped an image of a man or in this case a boy. There are several catchy phrases in the set, another maze stamp design, and several more ‘center’ images to use. Can’t wait to incorporate these into Valentine’s Day cards!

Here are the measurements and instructions:

• Scallop or circle card base (4 ¼ in diameter)
• 3 ¼ inch circle for inside of card and for the front (shown in Marina Mist here)
• Scrap of ribbon measuring roughly 12”
• 2 5/8” circle to border the maze design (here it’s Real Red)
• 2 ½” punched circle in whisper white (what the maze image is stamped on, then punched out using a SU! 2 ½’ circle punch
• Maze Game piece
• For the tag- I just stamped my image and then cut around it to make the flag

7-      Simply layer pieces as listed. I layered the maze piece, the stamped image, and the Real Red card stock together with tape runner, but then I added a couple strips of Sticky Strip when I glued the red piece to the blue piece, just because of the added weight of the game piece. Not mandatory, but I wanted to be safe.

I've decided I am going to branch out with that aspect of my business and host two boutiques a year instead of just one. More details, including the reveal off a new BIG location coming within the next couple of months.

Today I wanted to share December's Visiting Teaching gifts. They are now available to order! Let me tell you- they are yummmmmy! At my boutique a couple weeks ago I had a gourmet treat vendor that makes the yummiest chocolate popcorn! So I asked her to contribute to my gifts for December.

These gifts can easily be used to share a holiday message from the Bible, or any other religious message you would like to share- these are great ideas for someone of any religion, or even just leave the message off the back and give these to neighbors or co-workers!

For those of you not familiar with what 'Visiting Teaching' is, let me explain. I am a Mormon and each month the female members in our area visit each other and share a spiritual message and check in on 2-3 other women. You see how they are doing, offer to help with whatever household, family, etc, areas of their life they need help with at the time. We share words of encouragement and hope. Sometimes I run to the store for elderly women, sometimes I help clean a house, sometimes it's watching a baby while a mom takes a little time for herself. And sometimes it's just nice to visit for a minute, catch up, and know that we are all there for each other, for all God's children, no matter what kind of involvement with the church (or any church for that matter) we have. I don't always take gifts to the women I visit. And it's certainly not a requirement! This is just something I do on occasion and have had many people ask about them, so as part of my business I make them each month. I sell them at a local retail location and through word of mouth. I enjoy offering a gift option to those that would like it. It's nice when there is a desire to have a gift accompany you on your visit. Sometimes it helps break the ice when visiting someone you don't know well, or for a birthday gift, etc.

Now to the gifts! These are roughly 4 inches wide, 2 1/4 inches deep, and 10 inches tall. Each bag is stuffed with yummy gourmet chocolate popcorn! The bags are hand stamped with snowflakes and a message at the bottom. Along the top string two die-cut mittens on twine. They are stamped and sponged, and include a cute little jingle bell for each mitten. The message for this month (or feel free to substitute for something else if you want to make something different) is glued in place on the back of the bag, and the bottom folds out to expose the complete message.

If you would like to order some of these gifts you may do so up until the 20th. After that, I won't be making anymore and will be spending the rest of the month with my family.

You may also pay with a local check or cash. Delivery is FREE for any local orders from North Salt Lake City to Springville. I hope you had a wonderful, Happy Thanksgiving! I hosted a small gathering at my home with my dear friend Cari and her family. There were just 10 of us, which ended up being a stress-free, fun time!

In Martha's video and list of supplies she used a glue stick. I did not have any luck with a glue stick! I used a spray adhesive and it worked like a charm! I adhered a 12×12 pc of Designer Series Paper to a 12×12 pc of Basic Black card stock. I cut out both the top and bottom pattern for the box and used paper clips to secure the pattern while cutting out the edges of the box. I used a ruler and a scoring tool to make the score lines and I think the boxes turned out nice!

For the tag, I used Stampin' Up!'s new Silver Glimmer Paper. While it's priced slightly higher then similar glimmer paper I've seen, the quality far surpasses any I've ever seen/felt. It bends nicely with no flaking, and doesn't look cheap! You could make a box out of it if you wanted to! I used a strip of it for the tag and punched out a heart for the skeleton which I embossed with silver embossing powder. I wrapped ivory tulle around the box and voila! LOVE it!

The tag measures 1 1/4" x 5 1/4", and I layered in from there.
