Well the city of Austin is having “Another Free Day of Yoga” this Saturday!

“Another Free Day of Yoga is an opportunity for people who are new to yoga to try a classand for existing students to try a different style of yoga,” explains Christina Simon, Director of Center Operations at Yoga Yoga. “Every year on Labor Day, Yoga Yoga participates in theannual Free Day of Yoga citywide-event, and we see over 1,000 people in our studios. With interest in yoga on the rise, we saw the need to make this a semiannual occasion, giving more people access to the benefits of yoga.”

At five Yoga Yoga locations across the city, 56 free yoga classes will be taught, from beginner-friendly yoga classes to prenatal yoga classes to a yoga bootcamp class at 7:30am! Class schedule and Yoga Yoga location information at yogayoga.com/another-free-day-yoga.

Of course, there are tons of other studios participating too. Check out freedayofyoga.com or contact info@freedayofyoga.com.

According to the 2008 Yoga in America study, 6.9 percent or 15.8 million U.S. adults practice yoga. That’s a lot, but we need more, so get thee to a studio stat! Keep that in mind as you are headed around town this morning. Good luck to all the runners.

I thought about blogging on a place to go eat after finishing the big race, but unless you have reservations you probably don’t have a great chance of getting a table somewhere. You might as well join the after party at that is being hosted by Livestrong. There will be plenty of post-race runners re-living the event.

January 29th and January 30th, 2011 Tough Mudder is not your average lame-ass mud run or spirit-crushing ‘endurance’ road race. It’s Ironman meets Burning Man, and it is coming to Austin. Our 9-mile 18-obstacle course is designed by British Special Forces to test all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. Forget finish times. Simply completing a Tough Mudder is a badge of honor. All Tough Mudder sponsorship proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project. WARNING: A Tough Mudder is 3-4 times longer and much tougher than a typical mud run such as Warrior Dash. Only 78% of participants at our last event in New Jersey finished. Only those in reasonable physical condition should enter.

Rogue Training Systems - Events RSS Feed

COMMUNITY: Harlem Globetrotters

Austin Chronicle Recommended

COMMUNITY: Austin Toros

Austin Chronicle Recommended

Barton Springs pool closed for gravel, debris removal

Pool closed until March 12; Deep Eddy expands hours.

Austin City Connection News and Event Highlights
