Cris Cyborg Caught Cheating With Steroids - Stripped Of Title

Cris Cyborg has been officially branded a steroid cheater by the California State Athletic Commission.

Cristiane Cris Cyborg Santos has tested positive for an anabolic steroid.

Mixed Martial Arts fighter tested positive for anabolic steroid in December 16, 2011 test

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has suspended the license of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Cristiane Justino Santos, better known in MMA circles as Cris Cyborg, and has fined her $2,500 as the result of a positive test for a banned substance.

Santos’ December 16, 2011 drug test came back positive for stanozolol metabolites. CSAC learned of the test results December 23, 2011 and suspended Santos’s license, with the suspension applied retroactively to December 16, 2011. In accordance with Rule 368, the result of her last fight between Hiroko Yamanaka will be changed to a “No Decision”.

“Our primary concern is for the health and safety of fighters,” said CSAC Executive Officer George Dodd. “Anabolic agents and other banned substances put not only the users of those agents at risk, but their opponents as well. The commission simply will not tolerate their use.”

The use of certain substances, including anabolic steroids, is prohibited under the Commission’s regulations, and CSAC has among the toughest drug testing standards of any Athletic Commission in the country. It is the only commission that requires urine samples to be taken in the presence of a commission representative prior to a bout.

Santos’s provision of a urine sample was observed by a CSAC representative and the sample was sent to the World Anti-doping Agency test facility at the University of California, Los Angeles. Santos has the right to appeal the suspension of her license.

My Americas CardRoom review will be a real poker site review because I actually play there. This will give you a first hand critique of an online poker site that still enthusiastically welcomes US poker players as well as players from around the world.

Americas CardRoom has been around since 2001 but recently upgraded and revamped its software giving you a very pleasant online poker experience. The new layout somewhat reminded me of Poker Stars. Americas CardRoom, which recently bought Doyles Room is now the leading poker website on the Yatahay Poker Network.

They offer a 100% Bonus upon sign up whether you deposit $25 or $1000. You'll also receive 27% Rakeback by using this official Americas CardRoom link. ACR has one of the largest Bad Beat Jackpots too. Recently a player hit it when the Bad Beat Jackpot was over $500,000!

The Americas CardRoom customer service is very good. They will help you with deposits and withdrawals. Americas CardRoom has a reputation for the fastest payouts in the industry.

The overall quality of the players on ACR, especially at the lower limits, is quite soft. There are many fish there so if you play solid poker you will do very well over the long term.

The Bad Beat Jackpot can be fun but Americas CardRoom also has a $50,000 points race, satellites to live tournaments (these change over the year, right now it's the Punta Cana Poker Classic), bankroll builder tournaments and Free Roll Fridays. If you're like me, you'll enjoy the wide variety of tournaments, Sit and Go's as well as cash games. There are several guaranteed prize pool tournaments for any size bankroll.

The weekend tournaments don't match the size of Poker Stars' Sunday Million, but the $109 entry $15k guaranteed Sunday has some terrific payouts plus there is a Saturday $7.5k guaranteed and nightly $3.5k too.

Sit N Go's have action at the lower levels, with the $11 and under games the most popular. There are double up games, turbo, super-turbo, heads-up and also the deeper stacked ‘Final Table Experience’ Sit N Go's which are great fun.

Even for US players, deposits on Americas CardRoom are quite simple. Visa or Mastercard credit cards, Western Union, MoneyGram are available for US players. Kudos to Marco at QuadJacks for tracking down the Whitey Bulger of Online Poker, Howard Lederer. Howard, at the helm of Full Tilt Poker, is suspected of mishandling (stealing?) a few hundred million dollars of US poker player funds.

Since April 15, Black Friday, The Professor has been in hiding while his company, Full Tilt Poker, has failed to pay a dime of the funds American poker players have in their Full Tilt accounts.

Obama's DOJ shut down Full Tilt poker for US players (along with PokerStars, Absolute Poker and UB Poker) but Howard refuses to return any money to US poker players.

Rumors are rampant that Howard Lederer, Ray Bitar and other Full Tilt principals did not keep players' funds separate from operating funds. It's a huge hornet's nest, a brewing poker scandal that makes Charles Ponzi look like a micro table angle shooter.

An indictment against the owners of Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, Absolute Poker/UB poker websites was unsealed by the U. S. Department of Justice today.

The founders of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker were indicted on charges of bank fraud, money laundering, and illegal gambling. There were also restraining orders slapped against more than 75 bank accounts used by the online poker companies and their payment processors. Five Internet poker domain names were also seized.

Here is a copy of the actual indictment and here is a copy of the Feds' press release So far 11 defendants are named: Isai Scheinberg, Raymond Bitar, Scott Tom, Brent Beckley, Nelson Burtnick, Paul Tate, Ryan Lang, Bradley Franzen, Ira Rubin, Chad Elie, and John Campos.

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said, "As charged, these defendants concocted an elaborate criminal fraud scheme, alternately tricking some U.S. banks and effectively bribing others to assure the continued flow of billions in illegal gambling profits. Moreover, as we allege, in their zeal to circumvent the gambling laws, the defendants also engaged in massive money laundering and bank fraud. Foreign firms that choose to operate in the United States are not free to flout the laws they don’t like simply because they can’t bear to be parted from their profits."

FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge Janice K. Fedarcyk said, "These defendants, knowing full well that their business with U.S. customers and U.S. banks was illegal, tried to stack the deck. They lied to banks about the true nature of their business. Then, some of the defendants found banks willing to flout the law for a fee. The defendants bet the house that they could continue their scheme, and they lost."

At least $3 billion in civil money-laundering penalties from both the poker companies and defendants is being sought. According to the indictment, Campos and Elie were arrested Friday morning in Utah and Las Vegas, Nevada. Franzen is expected to appear in court for his arraignment on April 19, 2011. Those not in the U.S. -- Scheinberg, Bitar, Burtnick, Tate, Tom, Beckley, Rubin, and Lang -- have not been apprehended, but the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York is working with foreign law enforcement agencies and Interpol to arrest them.

Howard Lederer and other principals have not issued any comments but PokerStars has reportedly blocked U.S. players from its real money games. Doyles Room was not affected and still enthusiastically welcomes online poker players from the US.

Since the UB scandal broke three years ago not much has been revealed about what really went on to cheat innocent online poker players out of millions of dollars. However, the logjam is beginning to break with Travis Makar's shocking revelations on Donk Down Radio. He claims that what has been exposed so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

Makar owned a computer servicing store, was a close friend of Russ Hamilton and handled many of the computer needs of Ultimate Bet sponsored players and executives. He was trusted enough to deliver cash to Phil Helmuth for TV poker shows like 'Poker After Dark' but he never worked for Ultimate Bet.

Annie Duke

He states that Annie Duke cheated Russ Hamilton out of a large sum of money and that she played fast and loose with 'donations' received from 'friends and acquaintances' to prolong her appearance on NBC's 'The Celebrity Apprentice'. Travis said, "So it wasn’t her talent, and it wasn’t her personality that kept her on that show."

Makar and his family have been unfairly pilloried and made scapegoat for the largest online poker cheating scandal. He never used the poker cheating software or took part in the UB poker scandal money laundering and until recently, knew very little about playing poker.

Full Tilt Poker Rigged?

Is Full Tilt Poker rigged? Many online poker players who have experienced consistent suck outs, bad beats and poor play rewarded are questioning the honesty and fairness of Howard Lederer's Full Tilt Poker site RNG deck dealing software.

Online poker players who have suffered on Full Tilt beyond any reasonable definition of variance scoff at the notion they're just bad poker players or whiners. They recognize most of those 'critics' derive substantial income from associations, affiliate and otherwise, with Full Tilt Poker.

There's nothing wrong with affiliate income from poker websites (if the site is fair and honest) but such an association should be disclosed by anyone railing against those who question Full Tilt's fairness.

If you dig a little deeper into the people who leave hateful comments about Full Tilt critics on the poker forums and blogs, you often discover the pro-Full Tilt person actually makes his living shilling for Full Tilt. In other words, their opinions are worthless.

I'll be covering more about this topic in the weeks ahead but I thought it would be interesting to see how some top poker pros do when they play Sit and Gos and tournaments on Full Tilt.

Let's look at four of the best poker players in the world, Tom Dwan (durrrr), Howard Lederer, Mike Matusow and Phil Ivey. Dwan and Ivey concentrate on nose bleed cash games but they have played SNGs and tournaments on Full Tilt. Lederer has played the fewest scheduled events, 9; Matusow, the most, 1,776.

This chart is a live screen shot of the Sharkscope poker ratings website. It does not list their cash game results, only SNGs and tournaments. These are some of the best poker players in the world yet their Full Tilt stats are appallingly bad.

If these guys consistently lose on Full Tilt do you really think you have much chance of turning a profit by playing scheduled events there?

Bookmark or Favorite this article because come fight time on Saturday night, you'll kick yourself in the butt if you can't find or remember the best UFC 124 live stream article to watch the fight. Your choices for free UFC 124 live streaming are below.

1. Channelsurfing.net . This is a free TV website that will play the GSP vs. Koscheck UFC 124 Welterweight Championship Fight. Just visit the page, scroll down and you will see the fight listed.

If you arrive on Channelsurfing.net early you might see only one or two listings for the free UFC 124 live stream. As fight time approaches, if you refresh the page you will notice there will be several additional listings for the big fight.

This site usually works fine but for some huge PPV events in the past the live streaming has been interrupted. If that happens just go back to the main page and select another link listing for the fight.

2. Justin.tv . Recently this free site has not been showing the huge PPV fights like it used to in the past. However, it's worth checking out because even if GSP vs. Koscheck UFC 124 isn't there, in the Sports section you will still see several channels promoting UFC 124 live streaming links.
