Simon Curtis Launches his Youtube Channel

Just days after Victoria announced hers, a video has appeared on Youtube of Simon Curtis announcing his official Youtube channel, SimonCurtisMusic! He'll be posting heaps of behind-the-scene footage leading up the the premiere of the film. Can't wait! The video is below.

He tells us to check out his official Myspace, SimonCurtisMusic where you can listen to a preview of his awesome new song, Delusional! There you can also listen to another full length song, entitled Detox.

To finish off the vlog, he gives a shoutout to JustJaredJr, for sending him some cool stuff!

While this hasn't been officially confirmed, there is a number of videos on Youtube of Simon and Victoria under the username of splohocky. Could this be Simon's official Youtube? We already know that Victoria has a Youtube channel, so it's quite likely that Simon has one, too.

I'm trying to do a round up of all old videos and pictures that surfaced of the Spectacular cast before I started this site. So, to start off I want to post about the MTV Video Music Awards. Last September, the whole Spectacular cast (Tammin Sursok, Nolan Gerard Funk, Victoria Justice and Simon Curtis) attended, and many videos and pictures of the foursome have surfaced.

Old Article on Lauren Levine (Producer)

I found another old article with a lot of interesting information, this time it's an interview with Lauren Levine, the producer, who tells us what we can expect from the movie.

Quotes:
"The challenge was working within a well-mined genre and coming up with something fresh where both the characters and the story sing," Levine says. "Our priorities were to make it funny in the spirit of 'Bring It On' and romantic in a way that would make ("Grease's") Danny and Sandy proud."

Levine sees "Spectacular" as ushering in a new kind of musical to young audiences. "If you put jazz hands, '80s rock ballads and sequins in the blender, you have a whole new genre of musical comedy," she says.

I really loved reading this, because it is exactly what I want to see from this film. Something a little bit edgier and more mature than High School Musical, something I think that Nickelodeon is more likely to be able to pull off than Disney.

Old Article from the Seattle Times Newspaper

I found an old article from the Seattle Times Newspaper from early April 08, which had a few interesting facts about the filming of Spectacular!

It was filmed in Vancouver, B.C., starting in early April and was directed by Robert Iscove. Apparently Nickelodeon is already keeping a sequel in mind, depending on the movie's success after it airs, of course. I think this is a fantastic idea, especially after the success of High School Musical, there's always a chance that Spectacular will be just as huge!

Victoria Justice has posted a journal, officially announcing her Youtube account.

Hi everyone! Today is a historical Day for our country, did any of you get to see the inauguration? I haven't seen all of it yet, because I'm really sick, (but thank God for TIVO). I've been sleeping on and off today, and just feeling really weak, (being sick is the worst).

I just wanted to announce my youtube channel, victoriajustice4all. There is someone else out there pretending to be me, victoriajustice music, and claiming my videos as her own, when I post them. A lot of people are being fooled. I was going to make a video yesterday letting people know, but I got really sick. So if any of you could spread the word, (other message boards, blogs, forums,etc.), that this is the real one and not the other, I would really appreciate it.

I've only posted 4 videos of me and some friends just having fun. I hope you like them.

He talks about his first time in a studio recording the album, filming the movie, his favourite parts of the movie, comparing the movies to High School Musical and other musicals, about following your dreams, his upcoming projects and much more. Your Own Way Music Video

The Music Video for the song Your Own Way has been released. This song features Nikko (Nolan Gerard Funk), with some of the cast singing backup. I love this song already - it's got catchy lyrics and fun, high energy dancing.

I'm still having trouble uploading videos with my slow Internet, but the problem should be fixed in a few days when the data cap resets itself for the month. So I will upload the rest of the videos then. For now, watch the video on Youtube:

The release of this song pretty much confirms the tracklisting for the soundtrack I found on Wikipedia earlier.
