SMU has signed an agreement with Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland that allows MBA student of Sikkim Manipal University to get an additional MBA degree from Edinburgh Napier University.

The best part is that the students can chose between an online course or a campus course. SMU students can save a lot of cost associated with MBA from a foreign university. An SMU alumni only needs to pay 4000 pounds for the regular on campus MBA as compared to the usual fee of 12000 pounds. You may also opt for for cost effective online course by paying 2600 pounds only.

What is Credit Transfer System?

Sikkim Manipal University Distance Education (SMU-DE) has announced the introduction of credit transfer from UGC recognized universities to Sikkim Manipal University. The condition is that the title and duration of the program will remain the same. Say a students is enrolled in BBA at any University, after the first year, he/she may seek a credit transfer and gain direct entry into the third semester of the same program with SMU-DE. So if you are not happy with your current institution, make the shift you SMU.

Save Time

The system has built-in features that help students to further save time while looking to pursue MBA programs post their graduation. For instance, it has a provision for final year students of B Tech or BE programs to sit for the first and second semester MBA examinations as soon as they complete their graduation. This gives the students a nine-month advantage over others following a similar progression into an MBA program with other universities.

There are special entry provisions for those students pursing diploma course in allied health sciences. 10th or 12th pass outs pursing diplomas through institutes recognized by the State Paramedical Board can gain direct entry into the third semester of B.Sc. programs in Medical Records and Health Information or Radiography, Radio Diagnosis and Imaging technology or Medical Laboratory Technology. What’s more, there are also exit options available for students pursuing PGDBT into masters programs in Biotechnology at SMU-DE.

Sikkim Manipal University, Directorate of Distance Education has launched a nationwide scholarship named  Vidyadeep. The scholarship was launched by Anil Kumble, the Brand Ambassador of Manipal Education, and Brig. (Retd.) Dr. S. S. Pabla, Vice Chancellor, Sikkim Manipal University at the 2nd National Learning Centre Convention of SMU - DDE at Mysore on December 14, 2009.

SMU plans to offer it to 1500 meritorious and deserving students of University’s Distance Education (SMU-DE) programs. Out of these 1500 scholarships, 500 scholarships will be offered to students from

North East region alone.

As you all may know that SMU DDE (Sikkim Manipal University Directorate of Distance Education) launched web based Online Admission from August 26, 2009.

The Online Admission System (OAS) enabled students to submit their Fresh, Re-registration and Re-sitting applications from anywhere, anytime.

This is a great new feature for future students as they can now apply for admission online at their convenience. The best part is that existing students can also avail the service for subsequent semesters and re-sitting exams.

How to Apply Online:

The online portal will allow students to login through secure pin or password credentials, permit them to save draft or track the status of their applications. Students will also receive SMS/email alerts/notification from the University during various stages of application process.

2. The 7 character Application serial number (example: NA32175) is your USER NAME.

3. Each application has a unique 8 character PASSWORD. To obtain this password, scratch the sticker which can be found on the top right corner of the application.

4. Enter these details in the LOGIN window.

FOR EXISTING STUDENTS:

1. Your 9 digit University Roll Number is the USER NAME.

2. Click PASSWORD REQUEST button to obtain the password.

3. The 8 character password will be sent your University email ID.

4. Enter this PASSWORD in the LOGIN window.

Ans. Iteration Statements (C# Reference)

You can create loops by using the iteration statements. Iteration statements cause embedded statements to be executed a number of times, subject to the loop-termination criteria. These statements are executed in order, except when a jump statement is encountered. The following keywords are used in iteration statements:

• do

The do statement executes a statement or a block of statements enclosed in {} repeatedly until a specified expression evaluates to false. In the following example the do loop statements execute as long as the variable y is less than 5.

Unlike the while statement, the body loop of the do statement is executed at least once regardless of the value of the expression

The for loop executes a statement or a block of statements repeatedly until a specified expression evaluates to false. The for loop is handy for iterating over arrays and for sequential processing. In the following example, the value of int i is written to the console and i is incremented each time through the loop by 1.

The for statement executes the enclosed statement or statements repeatedly as follows:

The foreach statement repeats a group of embedded statements for each element in an array or an object collection. The foreach statement is used to iterate through the collection to get the desired information, but should not be used to change the contents of the collection to avoid unpredictable side effects.

The embedded statements continue to execute for each element in the array or collection. After the iteration has been completed for all the elements in the collection, control is transferred to the next statement following the foreach block.
