Symbiosis by Dutch designer Jelte van Abbema is a method of printing with bacteria. Van Abbema created simple typographic forms that changed colour and form as the bacteria multiplied and then died. This is great.

The Trucker

Artist Boo Ritson actively involves her models in the creation of her work, by painting directly on their skin and clothes and photographing the results. Ritson requires the paint to be wet when the photographs of her sitters are taken, so the process of creating a work is an intense one, with the Ritson making rapid decisions against the clock.

The results are really striking, straddling the disciplines of painting, sculpture and photography.

Metal sculpture artist Gabriel Dishaw uses found objects from typewriters, adding machines, and old computers, held together with fine wire and glue, to create his sculptures of his favourite Nike trainers.

Football Hero is the latest project from myself and Steve. We created a three story high guitar hero style game played with footballs, to promote the latest Kasabian single Underdog. We drafted in a team of extremely talented freestyle footballers to play the game, headed up by Woody and Kleiny. The pair starred in the hugely successful documentary ‘In The Hands Of The Gods’, in which they busked their way to Argentina to meet their hero Diego Maradona.

You can watch the behind the scenes piece here to find out all about how we built the game. It was loads of fun to do and the whole crew ended up playing it obsessively in between practice sessions and takes.

Ministry of Design have completed an office interior for Leo Burnett in Singapore that features a drawing of the company’s founder spread across the walls and floor, wielding a giant pencil.

Leo Burnett have used the big pencil as part of their branding consistently over the past few years, most notably on their Canadian site - http://leoburnett.ca/ - which (appropriately) ended up winning a Black Pencil at D&AD in 2006.
