Our host today is Scott Dudley. If you're interested in getting in front of the readers of Site Sketch 101, check out our guest posting invitation here.

One of the most common problems for bloggers is writers block, and deciding on what to choose for their next blog post topic.

Not only do you need to come up with a good topic, you also need to write a great article about that topic. Its not good enough to merely slap something together and expect people to retweet and share it.

Here are my my six best tips to help you choose a great blog post topic that will do your blog justice:

1. Be Relevant

Write about a topic that is relevant or congruent to the main topic or niche that the blog is focused on.

If your blog is based on photography, then don’t write about football. Congruency is vital on your blog, if you want to keep your readers.

You should have chosen a specific niche or industry as your blog’s main theme, and it is important to limit your blog posts to topics that are closely related to this niche.

If you have not chosen a specific niche for your blog, then you should possibly consider starting from scratch. Unless you are a well known celebrity, you will really struggle to have people revisit your website if the blog posts are on completely different subjects.

Always keep your blog posts on topic.

2. Be In Demand

Write about topics that are in demand by people, not JUST topics that you are personally interested in.

This is probably the most common mistake that amateur bloggers make. What is the point of writing blog posts if you are the only person that is interested in reading them.

Google Trends and Twitter Search are two excellent websites to use to discover what people are currently searching for. This is especially useful for blogs that are based on news and current events.

The Google Keyword Tool is an excellent free tool to search for suitable keyword phrases to base a blog post topic around. You can learn about keyword research by clicking here.

The point here is that if you are a new blogger that is just getting started, don’t just write about things that are on your mind, or just choose any topic randomly.

3. Be Original

Never copy exact headlines and content from other people

Be original and come up with your own blog post topics to write about. It is ok to get ideas from other people, but don’t copy the headline and the content word for word.

It is not worth risking getting in trouble by stealing other peoples work. The penalties for plagarism can be quite severe in some cases.

There is nothing wrong with looking around to see what other people are doing, and what is popular though.

4. Be A Problem Solver

Try your best to base your blog post topic around problems that people are currently experiencing, and offer them solutions.

The most searched for content on the internet is based around solutions to problems that people are experiencing. These days if people are having any sort of ongoing problem, they are most likely to be doing research on the internet.

“How To Articles” are extremely popular if you choose something that is a common problem, but has few (if any) solutions online. You can easily rank highly on search engines if you write these types of articles.

5. Be Bold

Make Your Headline As Interesting And Exciting As Possible

Just like an email headline, a blog post headline can make or break the post.

This is the first thing that people read, and if it doesn’t attract their attention they are not going to bother reading the content. It makes no difference if your content is fantastic, people won’t even bother with it if the headline doesn’t jump out and encourage them to start reading.

Use numbers where possible in your headlines as people are drawn to numbers in the headline for some reason. Powerful adjectives and action verbs are also highly recommended. A great book to read about this is “Hypnotic Writing” by Joe Vitale.

6. Be Knowledgable

Don’t write about something that you know nothing about

Choose a topic that you at least know something about, otherwise you will just embarrass yourself. You don’t have to be an expert or a guru though, and you can learn about topics by doing a bit of research.

But if you start writing content that is full of false claims and false information you will encourage negative comments which will tarnish your reputation. The last thing you want is negative publicity, or people picking you up on things that are just plain not true.

Also don’t just go through the motions when writing your content. Think clearly about what you want to tell your readers, and write it in a fashion that is easy to read, easy to understand, and is not boring.

It is a great idea to jot down bullet points for the content, and to then expand a paragraph or two for each bullet point.

Our host today is Nicholas Cardot. If you're interested in getting in front of the readers of Site Sketch 101, check out our guest posting invitation here.

I feel like I’ve been trapped in a dark, unforgiving prison of writer’s block from which I have no hope of escape. I have writer’s block and I’ve had it for so long that it would be more appropriate to call it writer’s hiatus.

I feel like the terrified damsel in a horror flick who flees her house to make a last ditch break for it. Her survival depends on her getting into her car and driving away into the sunset as fast as her Ford Focus, or whatever she happens to be driving, can carry her away.

She pulls out her keys and begins to put them into the car door to unlock her only chance for a life beyond the next few moments. Suddenly she fumbles them to the ground. She quickly drops to her knees, reaches under the car and retrieves them just in time to look up at a large butcher knife being slammed down toward her face. Cue the scream and a pooling puddle of fresh, bright red blood.

I sit down staring at my computer screen. WordPress stares back at me. Taunting. Mocking. I fumble my ideas to the ground and the blade of writer’s block descends on me. I’m at a loss for words. Again.

How did I get to this point? Where did this come from? What happened to the days where I was writing and publishing an article at least every two days?

The World’s Strongest Librarian

On Wednesday, I discovered that my friend Josh Hanagarne had published his first book The World’s Strongest Librarian. When I discovered this, I was filled with pride at the thought that I knew this guy and how amazing it was to see him so accomplished now. With the nearest bookstore being nearly 40 minutes from my home, I decided to purchase the Kindle version of the book from Amazon to read it on my tablet.

From the first words, he had me intrigued. His ability to tell his story is so powerful that it’s a more enjoyable read that many fiction books. The humor he uses as he reminisces over his struggles to grow up with Tourrette’s Syndrome set me at ease as I read about some of the most awkward situations you can possibly imagine. His writing style is superb. If you’re a reader, you shouldn’t go to bed tonight without getting your hands on this book.

As I read, I felt inspired. I wanted to write again as I once did. I wanted to produce enticing stories, lessons, and challenges like before. I missed the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction that I once felt from writing. I wanted back in the game.

Group Discussion

I imagine that I’m not alone. I can’t imagine that I’m the only person among billions of others that has ever experienced writer’s block. In fact, if you’re a writer, I would venture a guess that you’ve probably experienced it at some point also.

My goal for this article is somewhat backwards compared to my articles of yore. Rather than attempting to share with you how to do something, I’m asking you to share with me how to do something. How do you kick this parasite to the curb? What advice would you give?

Our host today is Anny Solway. If you're interested in getting in front of the readers of Site Sketch 101, check out our guest posting invitation here.

Social bookmarking sites provide an easy way for you to get back links to your site, whether you provide them yourself or put icons on your posts so that other people can bookmark your pages. This strategy can be equally effective on blogs and standard, static webpages.

Understanding how to use this for search engine optimization requires a bit of understanding about how social bookmarking works. It’s not the same as social media. It’s also different than file sharing, and has more in common with actually putting a bookmark in a book so that people can find a resource that you may think would be of interest to them.

Concept

On a social bookmarking site, people bookmark webpages that they believe are relevant to certain subjects. These various resources are tagged so that they can be correctly categorized among other resources similar to them. If you’ve ever used the bookmarking feature on your browser, you have some idea of how social bookmarking works.

Social bookmarks involve a user bookmarking the URL of a site and either saving it on a private network or saving it on a public website. Some social bookmarking sites require that a user have an account to use the features, while others do not. The most well known of the social bookmarking sites is likely Delicious, which is also responsible for introducing the concept of tagging resources so that they are easier to find.

Oftentimes, social bookmarking websites will encourage users to use creative tags to categorize content. This is particularly useful if a new trend happens to sweep the Internet and, along with that trend, a new term is developed to describe it. There are various organizational schemes used among social bookmarking sites, some of which involve folders and some of which involve only tags. Users may browse or search through the bookmarks to find what they’re looking for.

Why It’s Different

There are some significant differences between standard search engine indexing and social bookmarking. The primary difference is that people make their own entries into social bookmarking sites, rather than a search engine crawler selecting pages and categorizing them according to keywords and the algorithms that the search engine crawler uses. Social bookmarking sites are much more human driven, which means that you may get credit for a good page on a given topic, even if you fell short on making sure that the keywords and other search engine specific strategies were done correctly.

Using it on WordPress

Many professional Premium WordPress themes are built with features that make it easy to add social bookmarking links to the bottom of your posts and to your pages themselves. One of the key things to keep in mind is that you have to make it easy for people to find these links so that they are encouraged to bookmark your pages. There is another thing you can do to make the strategy even more effective.

Whatever type of content you produce, it’s likely that one of the tagging systems already in use on the social bookmarking sites will accurately described that content. These are sometimes referred to as folksonomies, meaning that they are systems of tags that are devised by users and that are not standardized by an algorithm.

When you’re social bookmarking your own pages – it’s perfectly legitimate to do this – try to give it tags that match other popular tags on the site but that which apply to your content very specifically. This increases the chances that people will run across your pages when they are using a social bookmarking site to look up resources for something that they’re interested in researching or learning about.

Our host today is Nicholas Cardot. If you're interested in getting in front of the readers of Site Sketch 101, check out our guest posting invitation here.

When I began this website, I had little understanding of the concept of target audiences. In the early history of this website, I was having a conversation with a friend who at that time was involved in online marketing. As we spoke, I asked him what I could do to be more successful here (and online in general). His response was to ask me who my target audience was. I responded by saying that I wanted to reach every blogger in the world with tips, advice and information that would help increase their effectiveness as bloggers.

I was naive and years later I have come to realize the importance of refining and studying specific target audiences.

Many talk about the glory of writing about topics in which they’re truly passionate. Some go so far as to say that if their audience doesn’t like what they’re writing about that it doesn’t matter. The truth is, however, that the most successful online writers and marketers are those take the time to understand their target audiences and provide the information and materials that those audiences want and need.

Analyzing a Target Audience (TA) is a critical step toward devising effective and well-crafted marketing. It is the thorough and accurate analysis of specific groups that are to be influenced in support of your business goals. These audiences must be identified, selected and targeted based entirely on your professional judgment.

Analyzing target audiences, for a successful online marketer, is an ongoing task and one that can be incredibly useful. Without profound insights into target audiences and their behaviors, and the phenomena and factors that may prompt and maintain them, an online business person would be hard pressed to expect the anticipated results from any marketing effort.

The ability to analyze a target audience properly and adequately will provide a business person with the level of confidence necessary to make precise and sound decisions about marketing operations. The end products of this process are the business person’s Lines of Persuasion (LOPs) and recommended Courses of Action (COAs) to be used with the target audience. The goal of target audience analysis is to devise the best possible LOPs and COAs to influence the behavior of the targeted individuals in such a way as to contribute significantly to the success of the business.

5 Questions Answered by the Target Audience Analysis

Since conditions within any given target audience are continually changing, the analyst must continually review, refine, and update the analysis. There are many steps in a thorough target audience analysis which will allow a business person to answer these five basic questions:

What TAs will be most effective in accomplishing the business goals?

What are the reasons for the TA’s current behavior?

What are the best means of communication to reach the TA?

How can the TA be influenced to achieve the desired behavior?

What are the appropriate criteria by which to assess behavior change?

4 Actions Accomplished by the Target Audience Analysis

Through target audience analysis, the business professional performs these critical functions for the development of effective marketing:

Identify groups and individuals that can accomplish your business goals.

Understand the motivations for the target audience behavior.

Identify potential vulnerabilities that can be used to influence behavior.

Develop LOPs and COAs to influence behavior.

Looking Forward

In future lessons, the following topics will be discussed:

Determining a target audience’s effectiveness for accomplishing your business goals

The conditions influencing their current behavior

Their vulnerabilities that can be used for influence

The likelihood they will be open to persuasion (susceptibility)

Recommended courses of action and lines of persuasion

Our host today is Noel Addison Agnote. If you're interested in getting in front of the readers of Site Sketch 101, check out our guest posting invitation here.

There are expressions or phrases that work marvelously on the minds of an audience. For instance, each time we hear the phrase “Finger-lickin’ good”, Kentucky Fried Chicken automatically comes to our minds. When it comes to branding your blog, product or business, a memorable tagline helps a lot.

Note: A tagline for your company website is important as it implicitly communicates the essence of your company or the offerings of your business using a very brief statement or phrase. It does not only depict the services and virtues of the company, but it also lingers in the minds of readers and consumers.

A tagline is basically a phrase or short statement that is often affixed to a business or product. It is created to make the company or product become more memorable to consumers. Oftentimes a catchy tagline helps customers link the company with their services or products they manufacture.

Below are things that can help you craft a tagline that will definitely sweep your audience off their feet.

Know Your Audience

Don’t rush and fly blind when creating your new tagline. Although, your staff feels that you have crafted an excellent idea, it is insensible to presume that your target market can identify with the tagline. It is indispensable that you carry out market research to determine how your consumers, clients or readers perceive your product. With the existence of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, it is now easier to conduct a market research.

Also, using these networking sites for you business or brand simply shows that your organization is continuously keeping in touch with your target market.

Tap Into The Emotions Of The Customers

Your tagline must create a connection with your consumer’s emotions. It should make your target audience feel good and confident about the product. Make sure that you tap their innermost desire for love of material comfort, status, and social acceptance. Classic company slogans like “Your money is in good hands” can have a strong appeal to a person’s need for security.

Keep It Simple

Taglines are intended to be short and brief as possible. As a rule of thumb, you need to craft a tagline that consists of three to five words. Try to employ words or phrases succinctly with rhythmically smooth syllables that people relate with your product, establishment or service. Rhyming may seem corny or unnatural but it can be effective if used suitably. Just make sure that your branding slogan does not sound dull or boring.

Also keep in mind that consumers and audiences have very short attention spans. If your tagline is too long, they might just overlook it and ignore your message.

Be Relevant

Your audience has to associate your tagline with your company or brand. Crafting a striking phrase that is irrelevant to your brand will only mislead customers. Test out your ideas first on friends or people around you before coming to your final decision. If these people do not see the relationship between your tag line and your brand, then most probably the general public would not understand it either.

Be Unique And Original

Reading or studying the existing taglines of your competitors is part of generating a good and sensible tagline. It can help you come up with the tagline that suits your brand. However, you need to make sure that your tagline will sound unique and original. Creating an original branding slogan is essential in differentiating your brand from its competitors.

If you're interested in getting in front of the readers of Site Sketch 101, check out our guest posting invitation here.

Traffic generation forms a large part in an internet marketer’s desire to create income online, and obviously there are numerous ways of achieving that. One such method is using a squeeze page to build a list of emails which can subsequently be used to promote a promote products and services. What this article focuses on is how to create a squeeze page.

The Elements of Squeeze Page

A squeeze page is essentially a one-page website, setup to encourage visitors to supply their email addresses by offering something that is of great value to them. Thereafter, offers of products and services can be made to the subscribers. Typically, the elements of a squeeze page are:

The heading. A great heading cannot be underestimated, and it must grab the visitor’s attention. Having it in red and bold often works best. There are no set ways to doing it, and it can depend on the type of product or service being offered.

Sub heading. The sub heading acts as a support to the heading and it should be pertinent to the product or service being offered.

Benefits to the visitor for supplying their email. Invariably, a report or e-book works very well, and it serves as a good reason for the visitor to sign up.

A call to action is a proposition made to the visitor to encourage them to opt-in. It is important to make this as clear and simple as possible. That is often the final stage to get them to submit their email address.

Request Visitor’s Information

The opt-in element of the squeeze page should be simple and easy to understand. Be mindful that it is not always necessary to obtain very personal information from the visitor, unless of course they are expected to purchase a product. Visitors are very wary and sometimes suspicious about submitting personal details, so it is imperative that they are given every assurance that the information they submit will not be divulged or used inappropriately. Establishing an element of trust is paramount. The visitor’s name and email address often suffice.

Appeal to the Visitor’s Emotions

It is not advisable to include links on the squeeze page that will lead them away from the page. That defeats the purpose the of exercise of focusing on the page and opt-in for a list. The call to action must be succinct. The content must appeal to the emotions of the visitor, and get them to act promptly without much hesitation. Incorporating graphics and/or videos on the page can enhance the look and feel, but the page must look professional. Incorporating is another way to encourage them to opt-in. Avoid creating a long squeeze page, preferably limited to a single page, and just as importantly, it must not contain a sales pitch! Give a summary of the benefits, emphasizing why they need the offer you are making.

Autoresponders

An autoresponders is quite beneficial in continuing the email list building process. The framework involves automating functions such as sending out emails and videos, linking content via social networks including metrics for analysing the effectiveness of the campaign.

The purpose of the autoresponders is to establish a rapport with subscribers, providing them with useful information about products and services, which will inevitably encourage them to re-visit the website. A popular autoresponder is Aweber, and it is very effective in automating the various tasks involved in a campaign.

After a visitor has subscribed to an email list, it is often advisable to show some appreciation for doing so by sending them an email, thanking them for subscribing. It is worth emphasizing that offers of purchase should not be made at this stage.

Where to Find Examples of Squeeze Page

A great source of squeeze examples is Clickbank, the popular product bank of digital products for affiliates and vendors. Simply click on Marketplace and enter a search term in the Search Products box relevant to specific niche, and browse through the selection. There are considerable number of templates from which to choose, which will serve as a good basis on which to work.

Creating a database of opt-in subscribers is a great source for future campaigns to promote products and services. Squeeze pages specific to a niche can be created mainly for that purpose. The incredible thing about creating such a database is that it can be utilized for campaigns that do not necessarily fall in the same niche. However, be mindful that overuse of the list can be detrimental, resulting in unhappy subscribers who might elect to unsubscribe from the list.

Our host today is Cameron Prockiw. If you're interested in getting in front of the readers of Site Sketch 101, check out our guest posting invitation here.

Whilst any author would be tempted to take an ethical stance on this subject, there is a larger reason not to buy likes. Actually, there are nests of reasons not to buy likes, which looms larger than the cloud over a Netbook merchant’s shop (wave a long goodbye to that flash in the pan).

The most obvious reason on the planet:

Google and Facebook know about buying likes.

They are not stupid. People think they have found a chink in these mammoth companies’ amour. If anything — their exuberance on the subject is pathetic.

People are actually charging to give this advice away. They are charging it as a “secret”. There are companies that are selling their web services as 100% effective because they can guarantee a lot of people will “like” it.

Here is a good example: You buy grapes from a grocer every day, and every day you steal three grapes. The grocer sees you do this every day, but does not cause a fuss. Do you really think that there will be no negative repercussions? Do you really think that the grocer will not increase the price of the grapes to cover his losses? Do you think the grocer is going to have a hard time (morally) short changing you? Or not returning the money you drop? Google and Facebook know about buying likes, and have quite a few systems in place to stop it mattering.

Here is a piece of info that no SEO company will admit:

Google does not take social media markers that seriously.

Can you feel the SEO merchants grabbing for their mouse and clicking to complain? It’s true though, and think about it. Why would Google place such an emphasis on social media when it is so easy to manipulate? Why do you think they set up their own social media?

Here is an example of how social media markers are limited in their effect of SEO. Let’s say that the indexes criteria were in percentage form, as to their priority. So meta tags may be 35%, backlinks 20%, website’s age 20%, constant updates 15% (you get the idea). Social media markers would be a maximum of 5%. Once you reach that limit, it will not matter how many markers you direct to your website.

Here is something you may know:

Buying likes is only effective up to 30 likes.

If you are going to buy likes, then buy 30. Have them all directed at your business page on Facebook, after which, they will allow you to track your audience.

That is the only genuine benefit to buying likes!

But why oh why:

You are asking yourself how “like” buyers seem to gain a benefit.

It is the same reason that black hat SEO people reach the top of Google SERPS. It is because the Google and Facebook programs are not advanced enough to catch every perpetrator every time. It can take up to two weeks for them to catch you and reassign your position and reputation to the gutter. Facebook will probably suspend your account for cheating, and red-flag your IP address, which will make getting access to ANYTHING a struggle. Google make a point of going after the companies that sell the “likes” and close them down within two to three months, not to mention putting their client list in the dreaded “Google Sandbox”. Google’s ability to remove people from the Internet is as powerful as an ice-cream man adding sprinkles.

Our host today is Luke Clum. If you're interested in getting in front of the readers of Site Sketch 101, check out our guest posting invitation here.

Think about the last time you were in a grocery store checkout line. Did you take a moment to check out any of the magazines? If you did, chances are you choose which one to pick up by the image on the cover. Just as you are drawn to beautiful magazine photos, your blog readers will also be drawn to high quality, relevant images included with your posts.

Choosing striking and relevant images for your blog post is the most effective way to ensure that people stick around to read your content. Here are some seven reasons why you should always include a few good photos in your blog posts.

1. Instantly draw people in

Articles with images get 94% more total views than those without. Posts with images instantly draw more readers into your article, so make sure your largest photo is your most eye-catching. Bad photos will not draw people in for as long as a high quality photo will.

2. Generate likes and shares

So a reader checks out your post, loves it, wants to share it with everyone they know. Perfect, so far so good. Now, when your post is shared or reposted, a well-chosen image can be even more important. On Facebook, for example, a shared post usually includes a line or two of text and a picture. Since social shares often rely on images more than text, your image has to do the talking. In a stream of quickly changing posts, an eye-catching photo can be your best asset.

3. SEO Benefits

Images hold reader attention longer and create more interesting pages; Google rewards these pages with “richer” content by giving them higher search result ranking. In order to reap the greatest SEO benefits from your images, be sure to optimize your images correctly. However, make sure your images don’t slow your page’s loading speed, as that can have negative SEO consequences.

4. Enhance your site’s credibility

Illustrating your post with some high-quality stock photos can make your blog look professional, attractive, and generally give the impression that you know what you’re talking about.

You wouldn’t trust a cookbook which featured poorly lit, awkwardly arranged dishes. It’s not exactly a fair or necessarily accurate assessment of value, but people tend to make instant judgments based on images. If you can make that tendency work in your favor you’ll be ahead of the game.

5. Create a visual resting stop

Another important function that images can serve is to visually lead the reader through text. When we set our eyes on a screen full of words it can sometimes appear overwhelming. Images work similarly to headings and subheadings, as they break up large chunks of text in a way that makes them appear more manageable and easier to understand.

6. Stand out from the crowd

As a writer, one of the challenges of the internet is that, with so many options to choose from, you have to work to hold people’s interest. Most readers don’t often take the time to read through much of your content before making a quick decision whether or not they are interested. You can entice them to read further with some thoughtfully chosen images.

7. Leave a lasting impressing

So we’ve covered how images can make an immediate impact, and how important that quick first impression can be. Good images also have a unique ability to stick in people’s minds long after they see them. The more ways our senses are stimulated, the more engaged we become. And if you have video to use in harmony with images and text to illustrate your ideas, all the better. At the end of the day, when people think back on all of the things they’ve heard and read and seen, great visuals are a key to making sure that your ideas have made a lasting impression.

Our host today is Kola Olaosebikan. If you're interested in getting in front of the readers of Site Sketch 101, check out our guest posting invitation here.

Unbelievable.

The author of one of the most respected blogs on the internet—burnt out. Who would have thought such a thing would ever happen? His blog had a loyal audience, produced good revenue, and was fun to read. Yet he was disillusioned, discouraged and just wanted to quit. It was shocking news but I could relate.

I’ve been burnt out before and it’s not fun.

The first time it happened, I basically turned off my cell phone, abandoned my Twitter and Facebook accounts, shut down my email and took two days off to eat dark chocolate, watch TV, and chill in my pajamas all day. It was FUN but I realized that I’d need a more respectable plan the next time I felt overwhelmed.

This plan is what I like to call the PEP talk.

P is for Perspective

The first step is to remember this—it’s just a blog. Actually, let me restate that. It’s just a teeny weeny collection of bytes on the internet. It’s not your life source, your heartbeat, or the center of the universe. Sometimes we treat our blogs like spoiled little kids. We dote on them, labor over them, pacify them and drive ourselves nuts in the process. It’s not necessary. Your blog doesn’t have to explode into an internet phenomenon overnight. Slow or rapid, enjoy the growth process. Keep things in perspective. Take it one post at a time. There is no rush.

E is for Excitement

Most people start blogs to provide a unique perspective on a topic of interest. I think this is a great reason to start a blog. Unfortunately, there are about ten thousand other blogs that are just as unique as yours. Even worse, most of these blogs have probably shared some variation of your best ideas with their massive followings. It’s a sad reality that often manifests itself in the form of discouragement and writer’s block. When this happens, take a quick, preferably rebellious, break from writing to go do something you genuinely love. For me, this could be a good jump rope session in the middle of my living room. At other times, it’s a manic 5-minute run on the treadmill (complete with mental images of me in a Nike commercial).

Doing something you love sends your energy levels soaring through the roof. In turn, pouring all that adrenaline into your work infuses it with a special kind of allure. The least SEO-friendly post on my blog (http://www.betamotivation.com/do-they-really-matter/) is a great example of what can happen when you allow your energy flow freely into your writing.

Don’t try to fix burnout by suffering through hours of agonizing drudgery. Instead, do something fun. Then thrust the resulting adrenaline into fixing any obstacles to your blogging success.

P is for Purpose

You probably have goals for your blog. Those goals might even be super SMART (Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic, and Time bound). These goals are great to have but they’re not very helpful when burnout is taking its toll. If anything, they are sad reminders of what’s not working. In addition to regular goals, it is very important to clearly state why you blog. It doesn’t have to be a production with bells and whistles. Sometimes, just one word or a few sentences are enough. For example, I blog because I want to connect with a community of like-minded individuals. That’s my purpose statement—just one sentence. Your purpose statement doesn’t have to make sense to anybody but you. Write it in Italian if you like— just make sure that it’s simple, easy to remember, and true to your heart.

So there you have it. The next time the chips are down, treat yourself to a PEP talk. Think Perspective, Excitement, Purpose, and blogger burnout will forever be a thing of the past.
