Finn’s 1st Birthday | Emerald Bay, Laguna Beach

Today we have Finn’s first birthday to share with you! This was such a fun party and a great idea for a first birthday with the “Vintage Surfer Boy” theme. This little guy is so cute as you will see in the portraits of our guest of honor. Look at those eyes!!!

You will love all of the details for decor and party favors. Finn’s mom, Jessica put her heart and soul into planning this party and it turned out amazing. We were so happy to share this day with Finn and his family. It was a beautiful day at that, with sunny skies and warm weather in Laguna Beach. Be sure to check out the shot of Finn’s Surf Report…such a cute idea! Jeff and I received our first sunburn of the year that day, but it was totally worth it as we had a great shoot celebrating Finn’s first birthday.

Newport Beach Tennis Club Wedding | Orange County Couple Jack+Jessica = Married

When Jack and Jessica told us of their wedding at the Newport Beach Tennis Club we were so excited to photograph them. The couple had all of their little details to go with their Tennis Club themed wedding. I loved the color scheme of Black, White and Yellow and the touch of Gray with the guys’ suits!! The couple actually plays tennis together as well as with Jessica’s mom and dad, who play tennis daily at the club. This venue made for a beautiful wedding spot and we loved working with the two and their families. Jack and Jessica were a very fun-loving couple as you will see in all of the moments we captured of their wedding day.

We will play a game of tennis with these two any day… we loved working with them! A special thanks for Jack and Jessica for sharing their special day with us.

This is a fun post! Recently, my friend Angie referred me to her friend Melissa who has a daughter who just turned a year old. I got to do Emma’s one year portrait as well as a cake smash of eating her first birthday cake. This little ladies birthday party theme was “pink lemonade”…just absolutely adorable!!! You will love all of the details…cute, cute, cute!!! Emma’s dress with the lemons, her yellow flower head band, the pink lemonade cake, pink birthday hat and the yellow highchair we shot her in as she did her cake smash. Her mom and I had such a fun time collaborating on ideas for the shoot. Here she is…Miss Emma turns one and is having fun!

San Clemente Beach Destination Wedding | Ben+Samantha = Married

Southern California is a beautiful destination for a wedding. I was once only a visitor to Orange County, California until 13 years ago when I moved here from back east. My family and I visited Laguna Beach for many summers and I always wanted to move here. I dreamed of having an oceanfront wedding here someday and so I did in August 2001 to my hubby Jeff. For many Orange County makes a great vacation destination and for some it even becomes the perfect location for their wedding as it was for Ben and Samantha. Some of my favorite Orange County coastal wedding destinations are in Newport Beach, Corona Del Mar (which is where Jeff and I were married), Laguna Beach, Dana Point and San Clemente.

Samantha had shared with me that her family visited San Clemente three times over the past several years and they love it. The couple hails from Calgary and were so excited to get married on the beach near San Clemente Pier. It was a gorgeous April day at the beach when I met up with Ben and Samantha! Sam mentioned that when they left Canada, they were expecting a snow fall, but it was almost 70 degrees on their wedding day! This is one of the reasons why I wanted to move here as it is April and we have some days where we can actually be hanging out at the beach already.

We loved working with these two…they were so happy to be married and had some very loving moments. A big congratulations to Ben and Samantha…cheers to you both! J+D

Jeff and I love to shoot weddings! We get to share a very special time with our couples as they start their journey together to the “Happily Ever After”. Vegas Baby! Recently we took a trip to Las Vegas for WPPI, which is the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International Convention. We attended the trade show to check out the latest and greatest in the photography industry. We also got to meet up with a couple, Robert and Nicole who wanted to do their engagement portrait in Las Vegas. They will be getting married this September here in California then traveling to Paris for their honeymoon. We thought we would incorporate a little of the Paris Theme with one of their favorite places to go with this romantic engagement portrait of Robert and Nicole. We had so much fun shooting in Vegas and working with these two. Enjoy the photos.

We have another great family who joined us on our family portrait day at Oak Hill Park in Danville. This is our second time shooting with the fabulous Katz Family too. We have known Matt and Lorraine for a few years now and we have watched their family grow. It looks like we have another catalog family here with the styling for their family portrait. I love the argyle sweaters the boys are sporting and I just can’t get enough of this weeping willow tree. LOVE,LOVE, LOVE it! It makes for the perfect spot for a family portrait! Thanks to Matt, Lorraine, Lincoln and Victoria for sharing your family with us once again. We appreciate all of our clients, especially the ones who come back again. It is always nice to see you.

One of the best things about our job is we get to travel. Recently, we scheduled a couple Family Portrait Sessions at Oak Hill Park in Danville for some of our Bay Area clients. Today we have one of them to share of Julie, Corey and Caleb. This is the second time we have done a portrait for them. The first time we shot was in Point Loma, San Diego with their extended family. You can see their previous session by clicking here. This time we did their session up in their neck of the woods. We just loved the location!
