New Flight of Vietnam Airlines

At the end of October Vietnam Airlines will launch direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Yangon in Myanmar, with four flights a week (Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) onboard 150-seat Airbus 320 aircraft.

With the new route there are now nine flights from Vietnam to Myanmar every week: four from Ho Chi Minh City and five from Hanoi.

The biggest city in Myanmar, Yangon offers visitors a mystical experience in a country with untouched nature and cultural attractions, such as the golden Shwedagon pagoda.

Most foreign visitors to Myanmar come from ASEAN countries, Northeast Asia and Europe, with about 40-45% arriving by air in Yangon.

An estimated 1,500 passengers travel from Vietnam to Myanmar and 2,500 from Myanmar to Vietnam annually.

In March this year Vietnam Airlines launched its Hanoi-Yangon service, with four flights per week aboard Fokker-70 aircraft and the number of weekly flights was increased to five in June.

The new Ho Chi Minh City - Yangon route will not only meet customer demand but also contribute to promoting bilateral relations between Vietnam and Myanmar.

The service expands the Vietnam Airlines' coverage to all the countries in the CLMV region ( Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) and is part of its long-term flight network plans.
