“He never had more than twelve students at a time,” says Sifu Mark Stewart- founder of International Jeet Kune Do and pupil of Bruce Lee’s closest friend and protégé, Ted Wong. “It was, is and always will be very much a ‘backyard style.’” Considering that 38 years since his death, Bruce Lee remains one of the most iconic figures associated with martial arts, many people find this hard to comprehend.

人心不足蛇吞象。。。

Recently I attended the memorial service of Late GM Chen Yu-he, I met with a senior. He was asking me how come I didn’t write about one incident that happened within the wushu community in SWDLF? I replied that I heard nothing.

Yesterday during the SLTET 44th anni, I met up with some more senior and I probe a little about it. I got a shocking news!

Our current SWDLF General Secretary was given a post (that he created) as a Technical Director (技术总监), or something like that, drawing a monthly fix salary of more than $6000. I was really like WTF !!!

Doesn’t SSC do check on such things? What kind of a Director can he be! He don’t really knows the in-depth knowledge of traditional wushu, nor contemporary. Neither is he verse in Sanda. Worst when he can’t even understand English!!!

I seriously do not know what’s going on, but many of you are in the committee or still active in the circle, why didn’t any of you stand-up to it? SWDLF is like a money making machine, drawings blood from every coach and association. Now with this “Director“… damn~ he is really covering the sky with his single hand!!!

If any of you guys are reading this, I can do nothing to you, but I hope you can drop me an email (daniel [dot] kaw [at] sgwutan [dot] com). Give me more info about it and I will write and write. If I gather enough good info, I will write to SSC and ask them to look into such matters.

If any of you youngster are closed to your seniors. Have a word with them. I think I’m gonna dig out my old phone book and call one person, which I had respected for many years and ask him for coffee. Its time to do something…

I hear from one of my Sifu talking about the wushu history of TET. Although they are from Shaolin, they roots are not from Go-Can lineage, or what inner-circle friends call, Jit Ki Mue (一枝梅). A vast variant of wushu performance during their wushu display and especially their did do their TET’s wushu roots.
