The location is good (2km walk to Alona beach) but I do think a scooter is necessary to get around which can be arranged for 400-500 peso per day. This place got all the basics 100% right which is why I give a high rating, I had the best sleep here that I could remember, a really nice big and comfortable bed with just the right amount of bedding and with an older AC unit that seemed to keep the room at just the right temperature (for me). Place is clean, however, linens and beddings need to be upgraded. Bring insect repellant lotion. Owners are helpful, if you want to do Island Hopping you can book it from them. Wifi is good as well. I like to stay in hotels that are clean, safe, budget friendly and in the center of it all. Pros: quiet, cheap, fairly large – we had a double bed plus a single bed added. Mid sized ref, bath and beach towels provided. Umbrella in the room too for when it suddenly rains or for midday strolls. They serve breakfast pretty decent for 150 pesos average. I like that it was an all female staff specially that I travel with my daughter. Rooms are clean though you have to let them clean it before noon or else they clean it the next day. Tamarind was the perfect choice for staying near to Alona – far enough away to not hear the noise from the main stretch, but close enough to walk to the beach in 10 minutes. We stayed in a 1 bed apartment which was really lovely. It was spacious, had all you would need. The bed was massive and really comfortable. Its location is a bit far away from everything unless you are ok and fit enough to walk for 10 min on a busy road in heat and humidity. Otherwise take a tuk-tuk for 100 php one way. There is a short cut to Alona beach and everything else but it ends in a “private property – do not tresspass” sign although you can still walk through there, very steep, made out of the rock stairs lead to the beginning of Alona Beach, a lot of rocks there – watch your step ! The resort itself is beautiful, it has an artsy & rustic charm that exudes a lot of character. The room was basic but spacious, no water heater but we survived. Very affordable too. The place is conveniently located where there are nearby restaurants, resorts, the bus can drop you off in front of this place actually. Yes, the menu is limited but hey, there are other places you can eat in if you like. The common areas are so welcoming that it’s easy to meet so many people, as many locals as foreigners. We spent very nice nights sharing meals, playing game, singing, playing music. You can also just chill in the hammocks available. We loved the way the hostel is made, with recycled materials, and the dorms which are very open on the outside but protected from the insects thanks to mosquito nets on the beds. I’m not fond of hostels since I don’t really like the concept of shared bathrooms but the shared toilet/showers were quite clean so it was fine with me. The hostel is also in a good location. One main issue I had was that the key card was malfunctioning. The lock on our door jammed a few times and I even got locked inside our room. We had to have our key reactivated and it was a hassle since the staff weren’t exactly friendly. Overall, don’t expect any facilities and stellar service. The whole place was very clean and our dorm room had the comfiest hostel beds I have ever stayed in! Each bunk had a curtain for privacy, a light, and plugs. OH AND THE MATTRESSES… wowweee. A plus is, if you are commuting, tge Partas bus line has its pickup and drop off point right here. The resort could also arrange the booking for you and get you picked up right at the resort! Staff: all nice and helpful. Room: you can have the regular ones in the main bldg, decent with tv with limited cable channels, clean bathroom, double beds. Nothing fancy. The deluxe rooms are more modern but basically the same set up. So if you are not the fussy type and plan to be out all day this resort fits the bill. Guest Reviews: Uber homey place & cozy enough to fall asleep, 2 minutes after a hot shower. The place features an in-house Cafe that serves excellent brews fit for international coffee connoisseurs. The building is of unknown circa but definitely post-WW2. The owners have preserved most of the old wood and stone walls and pillars which add to the beauty and house-like feel of the B&B. This place is in the backroads which means no dreadful traffic but also within the central business district so almost all of the famous sites that Baguio has to offer are just minutes away. The rooms are big with private bathrooms each and feature hand-crafted decors. Mural artworks are provided by painter-artist Kelly Ramos. Guest Reviews: I’ve stayed here twice. Approximately 10-minute drive from Session Road, the apartments in their main building are alright. Clean rooms, average but decent for the price. I don’t recommend the apartments in their other building though because aside from their personal housemaid (who lacks hotel service training,) no one else would be available to assist you. The apartment where we stayed during my second visit had faulty wirings. Guest Reviews: Booked the room through Agoda because the hotel looks nice and clean. Indeed, it was. The hotel has a modern lobby and reception area considering it’s only a two- storey building. But staff is not so accommodating. The room is poorly ventilated because of grills on its windows , we need to ask for a fan since there is no air-con installed. There is no housekeeper to pick up the trash inside the room. Anyway, our room is very spacious and comfortable enough to stay in. There are toiletries, clean towels, electronic kettle inside. There are a lot of taxi cabs in the city anyway for access to various destinations. This early 2016, I chose the newly-opened Baguio GM Apartel for being located at a charming community next to Camp John Hay for spectacular pine tree accentuated-views. My booked studio unit was so affordable given that it’s fully furnished with a kitchenette. The home of the owner is fronting the apartel so the ambiance there’s kind of homey. The fastest room service based on my experience with no questions asked when I asked for extra bottled water & room slippers and even during check out. Room has complete amenities, such as, morning kit et. al. Guest Reviews: The road to the hotel is quite steep so I don’t recommend walking if you’re travelling with elderly people. When we arrived, I was really pleased with the atmosphere, it was quiet and welcoming. The owner and the attendant was really approachable and the owner offered us free early check in! (it usually costs Php 200+ for early check in) The room we booked was with 2 beds, each bed can be accommodated by 2 adults, and I must say, it is super comfy! The room was clean, hot and cold shower is working fine. No AC coz you don’t really need it anyway. The hotel also provided toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and clean towels. Guest Reviews: The location was a bit far from the city proper. You’d spend at least Php100 for a cab ride going to or from the city proper. If you are planning to go to La Presa, this hotel is a good option because it’s probably about 20mins away. The room that we used was their standard room, it had a big couch which was so relaxing to sit on, a fridge that was barely used which I didn’t use, a water heater which I used to cook instant noodles, a coffe table and a another table and some chairs. The sink was part of the room which was ok, enough lighting for the room. The bathroom was just great, it was clean and brand new. Guest Reviews: We had a 2-bedroom for 6 pax unit for around Php 400 per pax via advance booking online. It was fair that it can be maximized up to 24-hour stay, where your check-in time is your check-out time. We had a quite difficult time locating it but thanks to GPS, it was just around the area.
You need to have your own tranpo vehicle to get in and out of it, commuting can be challenging.
Staffs are friendly and simple. It felt like home as we’re able to cook breakfast with their complete kitchen and dining set. TV with cable was also a plus. The quietness and coolness of its view nailed it.

The ambiance of the hotel is very quiet so small screams and cry from kids will really be heard. We had a room on the second level, with terrace, it was good however our room was facing a house with balcony in it too, so it was a little awkward when someone steps out on the house across the hotel. Fortunately, when we got there, we were truly surprised to have a great accommodation ( room with balcony ) with fantastic breakfast buffet spread! We were able to get a terrific deal from agoda for our rooms but regardless, their room rates are very reasonable considering everyone for sure will be having a very comfortable stay here. The hotel is quite new since we were told they just opened last February 2016. Unfortunately, their free wifi connection was problematic when we were there.
