Welcome back everyone! Sorry for the long delays--2011 was a crazy year, but I've finally been shamed into new updates. The art style is still a bit wonky, but that's largely due to the length of time between groups of pages. Bear with me, things should settle down moving forward.

News: Fightin Words

Well would you look at that--two consecutive weeks of updates! Bear with me as we get back into things here--I'm going to try to stay up-to-date while getting the style to a place I'm more comfortable with. Hopefully this will mean a prettier comic to look at. As far as this page goes, I'm not terribly happy with the illustration on this fight, and redrew this page 3 times (I'm still not happy, but I finally decided just to go with this and move on. I'll get it right next time).

News: Let's Try This Again

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.

I haven't updated Sellswords since before my wedding, but now that the major life events are out of the way this year I felt it was time to get back on the wagon. So here we are. For those of you who are confused about the black and white chapter 2: That's all I'm doing. Jon and I decided to get back to the action rather than break it up with a lenghty (though well-written) interlude about Molloch. On the plus side, what's there gives you enough about the character.

Anyways, I drew this page back in May, and the next page's pencils were done in September. There's going to be some real inconsistency artisitically and stylistically in the next few pages, so bear with me. What I can tell you is that I'm going to continue trying to make sure that each page is better than the one before it.

Well that was a lot of words. It's good to be back. I'm not going to promise that I'll be able to maintain a steady update schedule this time around, but I'll do my best and update when I have new pages.

News: Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone!

I'm in NYC this week for Thanksgiving, so no new page this week.

Instead, I've uploaded a wip shot of a cover painting I commissioned a long time ago. The character designs have changed a bit since then, but it's fun to look at.

Eat a ton of turkey, and I'll see y'all here next week.

News: New Update Schedule

Another late page. Sorry about that -- Football season makes working on pages on Sunday nearly impossible. As such, I've come up with a daring plan: From now on (or at least until football season ends), new updates will be on Wednesdays.

I noticed that I had put the last page out of chapter order. If you notice something like that, please shoot me a message on AIM, Facebook, or via email.

News: Whoops

Someone pointed out to me that page 1 of chapter 2 wasn't showing up, and after going back and looking, I saw that it was for some reason in the system as a page in chapter 1. This would have caused some of you not to see it. Sorry for any inconvenience or interruption in the story for you guys. The problem has been fixed, so please enjoy the story from here on out.

News: Chapter 2

True to form, we're starting Chapter 2 this week. Chapter 2 gives us some backstory on Molloch, and introduces us to his right-hand-man, who may be important later on.

News: End of Chapter 1

Well, that wraps up Chapter 1 of Sellswords! Chapter 2 starts next week, and will be a short flash-back chapter which will be in black and white. Chapter 3 will return us to full-color glory however.

Some people have remarked about the slow pacing of Sellswords. We're pretty aware of this ourselves. The comic was originally intended to update more than once per week, making the pacing slightly more bearable, but doing more than one page a week was a little too much over any extended period of time.

What you'll likely see starting in Chapter 2 and being more prevalent in Chapter 3 is some improved pacing that takes into greater account the one-page-per-week format.
