It’s only one left after this one. And I was like: why not having a last guestmix, to grow the excitement about the very very last TTT next week? And the only one who deserved to be the last special guest down here was Berlin’s Marflix One: Soca label owner, Urban Bass nerd, mine and Danny Scrilla’s DJ Godfather and the most trustful rum expert around. So today’s mix is all about new and old small island vibes, remixes made with a carnival mind and rum.

Todays TTT may be the most cheesy one ever. It may be the mix with the most remixes of Pop songs and it may be chum up with the girls in the most corny way ever, but I love it. After all that badman mixes and heavy banging electro journeys it’s something that I wanted to do. The middle part of the mix is still bad by the way.

I’m also reppin’ some of my favourite upcoming producers of these days: Douster with two great skanking new tunes, So Shifty with two tunes (e.g. their great Ska remix of “Keep It Going Louder”) and me, Tim Turbo with two new remixes. The Wax Motif tune will be released on Big’N’Hairy in November and the Daniel Haaksman remix will be up for free on seen. on Saturday.

That’s why my mix today starts nice and easy with some Dancehall and Trancehall in return, then goes deep with dreamy Dubstep and things and just when you think what a chilly TTT it was this week, Danny Scrilla steps in the place with flamboyance and esprit and blows you away with his brand new exclusiv remix of Crookers’ terminator tune “Il Cattivo”! Straight stupidness…

It’s time for Tim Turbo Thursday, it’s time for 8-bit-lo-fi Reggaeton, it’s time for Meneo on the guest mix! Synths chattering like saws, dem-bowing beats and Spanish vocal samples – that´s how they crash the party bus today. Note: it may look like the mix is a bit too short, but first: there are only their own productions on this exclusive mix, and second: 15 minutes is the perfect length for a mix like that. 15 minutes of in-your-face polygon dance music. That´s what it is!

Heyohooo!

We got only nine Tim Turbo Thursdays to go and I nearly completed the schedule for the upcoming weeks today. With some of the most fascinating DJs and producers for me right now, contributing mixes. Next week its finally on MeNeO from Spain to bring us dirty lo-fi synths crashing on some Reggaeton concrete walls. Grrrrreat.

For today’s mix I creeped deep in the hot, foggy jungle, sat down on a single mossy stone on some glade and recorded the mix. Its almost too minimal for my usual sound, but its great tribal and tropical. I got some brand new remixes of Daniel Haaksman’s new EP,  the hi-flyer of the emerging Bongobong-Minimal-Tropideep-House scene: Renaissanceman, Solo and L-Vis 1990 and some twisted Funky covered in undiscovered flora and fauna plus some usual suspects.

Lay down on a concrete meadow and watch the urban flora and fauna while listening to this one. off.

Today we celebrate a double birthday. Tim Turbo Thursday is now 40 issues old today and I went one year older yesterday, too. Of course we needed a special thingy for this special occasion. Thats why Switzerland’s enfant terrible, DJ and producer WILDLIFE! invited the whole freaking jungle to join him blastin out big tunes on this Tim Turbo Thursday #40. NY Times, Fader, The Guardian, The Independent, VICE, XLR8R, URB, Rolling Stone, and others praised this boy for his unanimously productions for Terry Lynn’s stunning debut-album “Kingstonlogic 2.0” and by the way he throws the best party in Bern at Bonsoir.

So what can you expect from this mix? He would say: “sort of like… putting a Jamaican cat in a blender feet first and turning up the bass to balance out the noise.” I say, you better put your Adidas-loincloth on and make sure your liana is shine and criss.
