Justin Mann, 32, of Peoria, has been blind his whole life.

"The Apple devices have revolutionized what I expect out of technology now," he said, referring to the standard reader that vocalizes the words on his screen and accepts vocal commands, allowing him to use the device without additional equipment.

"Before, if you bought a Windows phone or a Nokia phone, on top of that, you paid an additional price, what I call the blind man's tax," he said. "You had to pay $500 to $700 extra to have this (reader). Along comes the iPhone, and Apple builds it right in."

He appreciated the feature so much he went out and bought an Apple computer and now plans on getting the new iPad. "They have fundamentally changed the game for a blind person," he said.

Wanna Drive a NASCAR?

The Foundation for Blind Children is excited to announce a unique event coming tomorrow, February 23rd, at Vestar's Desert Ridge Market Place.

As part of its sponsorship of the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Nationwide Insurance is bringing the high-speed action to Phoenix. Local Nationwide Insurance agent John DelBrocco of The DelBrocco Insurance Agency will host the NASCAR Nationwide Series show car at Desert Ridge Market Place, providing customers and race fans the opportunity to see the excitement of NASCAR first hand. The DelBrocco Insurance Agency (602-863-1315) is generously making a donation to the FBC as part of this fun event, so stop by to check out this awesome car!

What: Guests will have the opportunity to see the official show car of the NASCAR
Nationwide Series first-hand. Guests can take a spin around the track in the Nationwide racing simulator and spin the prize wheel for a chance to win great NASCAR prizes!
