‘Avatar’ Budget Close To $500 Million – One Of The Most Expensive Films

A NYT report about the financial realities that lie ahead for James Cameron’s Avatar and 20th Century Fox, posted an estimation of the film’s costs of $500 Million Dollars. While we will never know the real figure, the approximations should be close enough to the actual costs and if it’s right, Avatar is now one of the most expensive movies of all time. Now the question is – how big should the sales be to make a profit on such a huge budget?

‘How To Train Your Dragon’ Trailer

There is a great new animated comedy coming in March from Dreamworks - creators of Shrek – How To Train Your Dragon. ‘2012′ TV Show In The Works

Roland Emmerich, director of the disater movie 2012, has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that a TV show based on the 2012 movie is already in development. Mark Gordon, exec for 2012 movie, is on board to executive produce. More about the show after the jump.

“The plan is that it is 2013 and it’s about what happens after the disaster,” Emmerich told EW. “It is about the resettling of Earth. That is very, very fascinating.”

‘V’: The Highest-Rated Series Debut

V got off to an out-of-this-world start Tuesday night for ABC and put the Alphabet just a fraction behind CBS in the demo race. Sci-fi skein V drew a 5.0 rating and 13 share, with 13.9 million viewers, making it the highest-rated series debut of the new season. Reviews for the Warner Bros. show were stellar and audiences clearly checked in at 8 o’clock to see what the hype was all about.

‘Avatar’ Full Theatrical Trailer

While no trailer can give full IMAX Digital 3-D impression the Avatar movie is being specifically done for, it’s still nice to finally see a full length trailer for this very hyped movie.
