Butterfly Bikini: Talk about out of the box!

I am sharing another very clever Fiji trade with you today.

Michele Reynolds very creatively used the Elegant Butterfly Punch to create the top of the bikini.

Now I am going to turn the bikini upside down so that you can see the "butterfly".

The bottom for the bikini is the Small Oval Punch. The leg holes were punched out with the 1/2" Circle Punch. Then cut the top of the oval straight to complete the two piece bikini.
Other supplies:

2 3/8" Scallop circle Punch, 1 3/4" Crcle Punch, Perfect Polka dots Embossing folder; Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist, and Whisper White Card Stock, 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon; Feel Goods Set.

Fiji Tux Card Share

Lee Conrey from our very own UdderlyAwesome group made this great tux card.

She used the Simply Scored on the front of the card at 1/4" intervals to create the stripes in the shirt. (The white c/s is 11"x 4 1/4" folded in half.)

The front panel is 3/4" wide and 4 1/2" long and is a separate piece that is mounted with dimensionals.

The black buttons were made with the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.

Create the collar by measuring down 1" from the top of the card.

Lee cut in 3/4"plus 1/16" from each side and then folded the c/s in and down and secured the collar's tips in place with a mini glue dot on each side.

The black band at the bottom of the card is 5/8"x 4 1/4".

The Bow Tie is from Dapper Dad and is held on with a dimensional.

The card does not fully open. Stamp a greeting inside and it will work.

Mother's Day at the pool

After church, I went over to Gabe and Shelly's apartment. Brad joined us along with a number of their friends from the apartment, and we enjoyed a long afternoon at the pool. I just took a few pictures.

Jaelyn crawled up into the raft with me. Fun!

Shelly and Jeremy were in the other end. We just kept switching people:)

Gabe grilled hamburgers. Brad made a delicious salad. It was a fun and laid back day!

I generally do not eat cupcakes. However, you can see from Jaelyn what color icing she had. We agreed. They were really yummy!

Well, back to stamping and business this week!

Unique and Awesome Mother's Day Gift!

My garage desparately needed to be cleaned out.

So, here you go! Brad, Shelly, and Gabe to the rescue!

My heros!!!!!

Three of them put in 33 hours of cleaning today! Fabulous job!

I am inside because it is overwhelming to me to be outside in the middle of this mess!

Joshua, Jeremy, and Jaelyn are playing with all kinds of fun things that my cousin Carol sent out for them. Playdough and puzzles, and bubbles.....

Vanessa, Brad's friend, is here helping Jaelyn put a puzzle together.

Jaelyn has on some pretty flowers from Hawaii.

I guess it will all come together somehow!

Dress Up Elegance

Karen Duke from Canada made my favorite trade from the Fiji trip.

One of my customers and friends, Mary Urspringer, figured out how to make this skirt. Then I went on and made the tutorial.

She used the #120175 Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder on the largest Oval Framelit. And of course, she used the Silver Glimmer paper for the bodice.

Basic Black, Whisper White, and Cherry Cobbler are her colors.

Pleasant Poppies

One of my Fiji trades was made by Rhonda Wade with the Pleasant Poppies stamp.

She used Black Craft Ink and Clear Embossing Powder to emboss onto the white card stock vellum. Then she turned over the vellum and colored on the back with markers.

I decided to use Calypso Coral and use her idea for Stamp-a-Stack on May 20th.

I used the thin end of the marker to color a little Calypso Coral into the opening buds and sponged in some clouds, too.

Notes:

When I embossed the card stock vellum, it wrinkled up a little bit. So I slipped it into my big dictionary until it was nice and flat and smooth again. You can do that before or after you color.
Be sure to blot the ink after you color the images in.
There is a 5 1/4"x 4" piece of plain Whisper White card stock attached to the front of the folded 11"x 4 1/4" Calypso Coral card stock.
Put adhesive on the backs of the flowers only. It tends to show through the vellum if you put adhesive on the plain white part of the card.

Full Heart FLower Hello

I am taking a little break from my Fiji pictures to share a card that I created last night for my May 20th Stamp-a-Stack Class.

Look below for a quick tutorial on how to get the hearts lined up evenly around the circle.

Since I have 5 hearts, I needed a guide that divided into 5 parts.

A star punch is perfect! If you do not have one, maybe you can find a star to trace. I punched out a 1/2" white circle. The first time I had each point touch the white circle. this second time, I simply had the point come to the bottom of each point of the star.

Notes:

It usually works better to stamp the greeting before you run the c/s through the Embossing Folder.
