Washi Tape for DAD

I have been looking for inspiration for how to use the Washi Tape.

Other than the fact that I rearranged the letters, "DAD", this card is a total case from Joanne Press! And I love it because it is such an effective use of the Washi Tape.

Notes:

I cut each letter out twice: once in cardboard and one in card stock and mounted them together before I added them to the front of the card. It gives the letters a little lift and definitely gives the card added interest.

Turning out to be a special day afterall

Today would have been my 39th wedding anniversary.

I woke up feeling a little sad and a little lonesome.

I just got home after having been gone since early this morning. Look what my son-in-law had dropped off for me to enjoy! Wow! I am feeling so loved and special. Dave and I were able to enjoy 34 1/2 years of marriage.

Life moves on and I totally get that. However, it is really fun to still celebrate!

Fiji Mudbath is truly "squishy"

My friend, Patty, and I thought that we would simply "observe" the mudbath.

However, once we got there, we figured that it was now or never!

In retrospect, "never" would have been okay.

It was an adventure that I will never forget!

I put so much mud on that it took a little longer to dry!

I am in front with the blue suit on if you don't recognize me!

We had to scoop the mud out of a bucket. Interesting smell !!! Once the mud sort of dried, then we were instructed to get into this mudhole and wash off the mud. Oh my word! It felt like deep, muddy seaweed on the bottom. It was squishy and awful! I gues our photographer didn't get a picture of the mudhole.

Below we are getting into the hotsprings to try to finish getting clean.

Eventually we were able to get somewhat clean.

When we took showers at the end of the day,however, there was still a LOT of mud in our suits!

Sue Kempter-Miller also from our UdderlyAwesome group is the second person from the left. I am the second person from the right. And my friend, Patty, who traveled with me is the far person on the right.

It was definitely a "bonding" experience. I'm thinking that I will not be needing another mudbath anytime soon!

Giggle Greetings in an interesting format

One of my customers brought the most interesting card to my Open House.

She wasn't using Stampin' Up! stamps for her amazing card.

I decided to see how Giggle Greetings would work.

So here is the front. It is a card attached inside of an envelope.

This is actually a square.

The trick is to find Designer Series Paper that will work on both sides for this idea.

When you open it up, you get this!

I just need to put glitter on the flame still:)

Supplies:

Set: #131065(c) Giggle Greetings pg 29; #127802 Teeny Tiny Wishes (c)pg 44;
Card Stocks: #102128 Chocolate Chip pg 145; #105117 Pumpkin Pie pg 143; #100730 Whisper White pg 145;
Designer Paper: #126902 Polka Dot Parade pg 154;
Ink: #10148 Black StazOn pg 164; Daffodil Delight pg 143; Pumpkin Pie pg 143; Chocolate Chip pg 145;

Notes:

To make the 5" sq. envelope, start with a 8 1/2" square piece. Score at 3 7/8" on all sides. Cut out the four little triangles and fold.
The chocolate piece is 5" sq; the Pumpkin is 4 3/4" sq, and the white is 4 1/2" sq.
I fastened this with Velcro circles.
You can either hand deliver this or make a 5 1/2" square white envelope for this to go in for mailing.

Timesless Talk with the new Deco Labels Collection and Candy Dot Brads

This set looked like it could be a lot of fun, so I started playing with it last week.

I used the same format with each of the three large images.

You can add the word loop and sayings inside the card to fit the need of the moment.

I'll share the colors that I chose. But you can choose your favorite colors!

So here is the bicycle with Island Indigo. I used an Island Indigo Candy Dot on the brad base.

What a great gift set this would make: Make several in each color!

Side View:

The telephone with Crisp Cantaloupe. I used a Tangerine Tango Candy dot on the brad base.

And a side view:

And the Victrola in Basic Gray. I used two neutral Black Candy Dots on the brad base.

Notes:

Fold the 8 1/2"x 5 1/2" white c/s in half.
Run the 4"x 5 1/4" white c/s through the Tulips Emb Folder.
Use #4, the largest Deco Framelit to cut out the opening in the white embossed c/s.
Add this cut out piece to the front of the card.
Stamp the image on white c/s and cut it out with the #2 Deco Framelit.
Add the brad(s) to the image.
Mount the cut out image onto the coordinating c/s cut out with the #3 Deco Framelit.
Add the layered image to the card front with dimensionals.
Add some of the cute smaller images to the inside of the card to fit your need at the moment!

Mosaic Madness using two of the new In Colors!

Here is an idea that I designed using two of the new In Colors: Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.

The new In Color ribbons are fun to work with. They are stretchy.

They may be a little bulky for tying a full bow. But for this kind of knot, they will work well.

Note: To get the Mosaic design in the right place on the white card stock for the front of this card:

Turn the embossing folder over so that the SU copyrite is facing you.
Place the 5"x 3 3/4" white c/s into the lower left hand corner.
After you emboss the white c/s, turn the c/s around (not over) and you will have the perfect alignment for this card.

I traded for a card very similar to this on my trip with Stampin' Up! to Fiji.

The demonstrators name is no longer on the card so I don't know who to give credit to for the idea.

It has a simple elegance to it.
