Looks like Salman Khan’s next film has received a shot in the arm. Sources close to the project say upon the star’s insistence, the film will now go on the floors next month itself instead of the initial schedule of October or November.

The film, to be helmed by first-time director Sajid Nadiadwala, will begin its first schedule from July 24 onwards. And incidentally, Randeep Hooda has been roped in for a plum role in the film.

A source says, “Kick was supposed to start towards the end of the year. However, a few days ago Salman called Sajid and told him that the film would now go on the floors in July instead and even allotted him dates.”

Insiders also add that the British government will be extending special privileges to the cast and crew in terms of shoot locations and others. The source states, “Some major action sequences are being planned on the streets of London for which action directors will be flown in from LA. Some streets in the city are expected to shut down for the shoot. London’s mayor Boris Johnson met Sajid recently and extended his full co-operation.”

Nadiadwala confirms the buzz and states, “I am looking forward to the schedule in July. And yes, Randeep is part of the project.”

Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya has finalised Salman Khan for his next family drama, but he is yet to choose a leading lady for the movie.

“We have shortlisted few names and Anushka Sharma is in the wish list. But it`s too early to comment anything as the film will go on the floors in 2014. Besides Anushka even Sonakshi Sinha is being contemplated for the role,” a source said.

The film, to be produced under the banner Rajshri Productions, will be widely shot in Rajasthan and Gujarat and it will be prepared for 2015 Diwali release.

Salman has earlier worked with Sooraj in blockbusters ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun!’ and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’.

There is some good news coming for all the diehard fans of Salman Khan.

Buzz has it that the Dabangg superstar might shake a leg with his former ladylove Katrina Kaif in an item song.

The song will apparently feature in director Sawan Kumar Tak’s untitled film, which will be a sequel to 1983 super-hit ‘Souten’.

Superstar Salman Khan will do a cameo in filmmaker and brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri’s next home production.

After the success of his home production Bodyguard featuring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Atul is all set with his next flick, titled O Teri.

“He (Salman) is there in the film. He is doing a cameo. He has a song and few scenes to do,” Atul said, without divulging any further details.

Atul’s directorial debut Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha (2004) had Salman, Preity Zinta and Bhoomika Chawla in the lead. He then produced Hello (2008), which also had Salman but in a cameo appearance.

“He is a part of my life. He is supportive. We share a good relation,” Atul said.

O Teri features Pulkit Samrat and Sarah Jane Dias in lead roles and is likely to release this year itself.

Directed by debutant Umesh Bhisht, the film is almost complete with a little work pending.

Salman Khan could well be the only active superstar to see references being made around him in numerous films one after another.

If the promo of Raanjhanaa begins with his song sequence from Saajan, Phata Poster Nikla Hero has him bringing back the magic of Andaz Apna Apna. If Ghanchakkar has some characters arguing over him being the hero of Ghajini, there is Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 that not just has Bobby Deol playing his fan, it also has references to several films of his being integrated into the narrative.

“While it is a known fact that Bobby is playing Salman’s fan in the film, there is more. His love story with Neha Sharma has scenes that would remind of many memorable Salman Khan films. In fact that’s the core of their romance as other than the song and dance routine, even their dialogues would be reminiscent of what Salman has mouthed in his two decade long career,” informs Sangeeth Sivan, the film’s director.

In fact such is the play of this love story that it even culminates in exactly the same manner as was the case in a super hit film delivered by Salman. Deols and Sangeet have decided to keep this element out of the promos as they obviously want audience to check it all out on screen. However, sequences of Salman’s films that have been chosen here are really hilarious.

Adds Sangeeth, “Well, it is a tribute to a person who is a true star. I thought it would be nice to do it through my film. What further allowed me to go crazy here was the fact that, Bobby and Neha love Salman in real life as well.”

He was obviously reluctant to share details about the exact scenes from Salman’s films which are being referred to. “That is for you to check out,” he smiled.

Sangeeth further goes on to add, “I realized especially after watching Bodyguard that when it comes to a Salman Khan film, it doesn’t matter who the director, producer or a heroine is; it is all about Salman. In fact I used to jokingly tell my wife that if I had just a poster of Salman in a film of mine, it would make 100 crores. Now I am having my characters who are crazy fans of Salman. I have all the right reasons to bring on Salman references.”

One wonders though whether Salman is aware about the tribute being paid!

The speculation over who is hosting the next season of ‘Bigg Boss’ season 7 has finally come to an end. Salman Khan has signed on the dotted line to host the next season of the reality show. In fact the actor will take out of his busy schedule to shoot the promo for the show some time in July.

Earlier there was speculation that Shah Rukh might replace him as the host. But all those rumors have been squashed. A source close to Sallu says, “SRK was never in the consideration. Salman has been getting the show amazing TRPs. He is also happy with the production team and has signed on to do the next season.”

The actor will take time out from his London schedule of ‘Kick’ and come back and shoot for the promo mid July. The show is slated to go on air in September.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Suzuki Motors have joined hands to provide relief to the drought-hit farmers in Maharashtra. Khan’s NGO, Being Human Foundation, and Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd, have donated 100 good quality water tanks each with a storage capacity of 2,000 litres

to drought-hit people in Beed, Osmanabad, Jalna, Aurangabad and Nanded in the past few days.
The water tanks have been procured from Nagpur and are being routed through the respective district collectors to ensure a direct impact at the grassroots levels. “This is the worst kind of natural disaster Maharashtra has faced in recent times. Through this initiative, we hope to provide relief to some of the most affected districts in the state,” Khan said on Thursday.

He commended Suzuki Motors India for its support towards making the Being Human Foundation initiative a success. Suzuki two-wheeler executive vice-president Atul Gupta said: “Through our limited efforts, we are trying to extend a helping hand and a ray of hope to the drought victims.

Actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who has been paired opposite Salman Khan in upcoming film Kick, says it is a dream come true to work with the “biggest star in Bollywood.”

The ex-Sri Lankan beauty queen, who featured this year in Race 2, will be seen romancing Salman on-screen in the action flick to be helmed by Sajid Nadiadwala, who will also be making his directorial debut with the film.

“It is like a dream come true for me. Salman is the biggest thing in Bollywood. I feel lucky,” Jacqueline said at an event here today.

Kick is remake of a 2009 Telugu hit of the same name. It goes on the floors in July and is expected to hit theatres on Eid next year.

“It is too early to talk about the film. It would be better if Sajid Nadiadwala reveals other details,” said the 28-year-old who made her Bollywood debut in 2009.

Jacqueline was also part of last year’s films like Housefull 2, a comedy film directed by Sajid Khan.

She has also signed Sajid Khan’s next film but was not willing to share details about it. Jacqueline also appeared reluctant to talk about her reported break-up with Sajid Khan.

Salman Khan is famous for his big heart and generous nature. The actor is not only a hero in reel life, but in real life also. Salman has once again proved that he is a very good human being by sponsoring the wedding of his spot boy Mohan. Though Salman Khan did not attend the wedding because he was busy with his shooting, the actor made sure that his family attends the wedding. A source close to Salman Khan told a leading daily, “The event took place in KC Hall in Bandra. Alvira and Atul Agnihotri, Salma, Helen, Salim saab along with Salman’s bodyguard Shera and his son were present at the wedding.”

The source further added, “Mohan stays at Salman’s house and his family is very happy that Salman has paid for everything. The star could not attend, but ensured that his family went for it.” Salman Khan also runs an NGO by the name of Being Human.

Sohail Khan’s Mental, starring his superstar brother Salman Khan, is being scheduled for the Republic Day weekend release.

According to a close friend of the Khan-daan, “While Salman and Sohail were initially contemplating releasing their film mid-January, they’re now planning to come out with it on January 24. Previously, they were doubtful about this date as Republic Day falls on a Sunday.”

Our source further added that while discussing release dates, Sohail was asked about Salman missing from this year’s Eid while returning to his lucky festive slot next year with Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick.

“Sohail smiled and remarked, ‘whenever Salman bhai’s film releases, it’s like Eid’,” recalls our informer, adding that the Khans are upbeat about Salman’s string of superhits.

Yes, it is happening; Khan has pushed the No Entry sequel to make way for the Barjatya film.

The cat is out of the bag. Salman Khan is reuniting with his favourite director Sooraj Barjatya. The director is presently out doing a recce and wants to begin shooting by the end of the year, or early next year. Before that he will shoot for his producer-director buddy Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick, which goes on floors this July.

Sooraj’s film was not planned but when the director approached him, Salman decided to give him dates, making way for it into his overbooked dairy. He went out of his way to accommodate Sooraj’s film. It is learnt that Salman even called Boney Kapoor and requested him to postpone his film No Entry 2 till he finishes the Rajshri Productions’ film, even though he was committed to start it.

Boney confirms that he isn’t starting the film anytime soon but is reluctant to divulge much. He adds, “Talks are on with Salman as far as dates are concerned but I can’t reveal the details.”

The actor shares a special connection with Sooraj. Sooraj made his directorial debut with Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) starring Salman which was a huge box office hit and launched both his and Salman’s careers. He teamed up with Salman again for Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) which became one of the highest grossers. The last time they came together was for Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999). While the Barjatya’s are known for their family-oriented films, Salman who has also been part of a large family, believes in such films.

Salman never smokes or drinks onscreen and he has always been allergic to doing kissing or intimate scenes in his films and enjoys doing films that glorify family values.

Now their film will release a decade after their last film together.

Salman Khan who has kept himself away from Twitter for quite a long, today came in support of her leading lady in his home production film ‘Mental’. Sana Khan has an arrest warrant issued against her by the Navi Mumbai police in connection with kidnapping of a minor girl.

Expressing his views Salman Khan posted on twitter, “Poor sana, so sad. 1st let her b cm famous then try n get sm publicity from her. This is the problem chappo any thing galat bhi ho toh.” Taking the issue further he wrote on Twitter, “Y wld a girl kidnap a 15 year old? Fr money? To get her married, At 4pm in a populated area.investigate the complainants. Kamaal hai yaar.”

While Salman’s third tweet was, “Obviously must b scared n running around n hiding, they hv a arrest warrant on her , 5 dharas , jail is not big boss’s house dude.SAD.” Finally hitting back on the those who have framed the charges against Sana he wrote, “Obviously those people must have sm ulterior motives. worked vit her on bigg boss, u hv seen her fr 3months every day wat do u think?”

Bollywood diva Kartina Kaif considers her ex-boyfriend Salman Khan’s advice as invaluable.

Speaking about Salman in an interview with Screen’s Editor Priyanka Sinha Jha, Katrina said, “I can’t speak for other people but at the end of the day, your work has to credit you and it has to take you forward, but personally do I think Salman’s advice has been important? Yes, I think it’s been invaluable.”

“He’s had a very strong basic sense of the working of the film industry, so that’s helpful. But it’s quite similar to Anushka Sharma and all other YRF protégés having Adi (Aditya Chopra) advise them. In my case having Salman and his circle to give me advice was definitely very useful and very important,” she added.

Katrina was introduced to B-town by Salman Khan and the duo was even rumoured to be dating each other.

Later, it was reported that the duo broke up and Katrina is said to be dating her “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” co-star Ranbir Kapoor and Salman has been linked to Romanian actress and television anchor Lulia Vantur.

Even after their break up, they were paired opposite each other in one of the biggest hits of 2012- “Ek Tha Tiger”. Despite the split, the duo is said to be sharing a very cordial relationship.

During the interview, Katrina also attributed her success to her destiny. “I think it’s a lot about your destiny. I am a religious person and I think God does have a plan for you, but beyond that it is about how driven you are. I am very driven. Ek Tha Tiger with Salman (Khan) and me was a huge success even though everyone was saying it wouldn’t work, Yashji’s film was also a dream. Riteish Deshmukh walked out on Salman Khan’s Mumbai Heroes in the Celebrity Cricket League to form his own team, Veer Marathi. However, he will now once again play for his former team.

The actor will be a part of the Mumbai Heroes line-up, led by Suniel Shetty, in the charity match against Members of Parliament (MP) at the HPCA stadium in Dharamshala on May 20.

Suniel is excited to have one of the most promising players in Bollywood back in the team. “Riteish was our vice captain for two seasons before moving on to a new franchise as the owner and captain. It’s certainly a nostalgic feeling and I am happy to have him back,” says Suniel. The funds raised from this match will go towards the welfare of sports in India.

The Mumbai Heroes line-up features Sohail Khan, who is the owner of the team, as well as actors like Aftab Shivdasani, Sonu Sood, Vatsal Seth, Sachin Joshi and Varun Badola.

After having helped Sonakshi Sinha in making a blockbuster Bollywood debut with the movie ‘Dabangg’, Salman Khan is now said to be giving the beautiful lady some useful tips to improve her painting skills.

According to a leading daily, the 25-year-old actress and her mentor have one thing in common, which is their interest in painting. Sonakshi, who is all set to promote her upcoming movie ‘Lootera’- in which she plays the character of an artist, has decided to paint live at the launch event of one of her songs in the film.

“Sonakshi, like Salman, has the same hobby that is painting. She likes a lot of Salman’s works of art, so much so that she calls herself a fan of his paintings. And recently, Sonakshi has been taking advice from Salman about painting live for the media,” a source close to movie crew said.

The insider also asserted that it was the makers who wanted Sinha to paint live with the media around, on the launch of the song ‘Sawaar loon’- that is based on her and Ranveer Singh’s roles and captures the journey of them falling in love while Sinha teaches Singh how to paint.

“She seems quite prepared to put up a good performance,” the source said.

Director of the movie, Vikramaditya Motwane, said, “Sonakshi has always been fond of Salman’s paintings and we are going to paint live for the media at the launch of our first song.”

An official spokesperson of the movie added, “It’s true that Sonakshi has been taking tips from Salman and everyone will get to see her work at the launch.”

Shortcut Romeo director Susi Ganesan is already working on his next project, a 3D superhero action film and wants to cast superstar Salman Khan for the lead role.

“We are looking for an A-lister. Due to the social message in the film, I am thinking of Salman Khan,” Ganeshan told IANS.

The shooting for the yet-untitled film is expected to commence at the year-end and Ganeshan added: “The script is already over… It will release next year.”

Currently the director is looking forward to the release of “Shortcut Romeo”, which will also be promoted at the forthcoming Cannes film fest. A remake of Ganeshan’s Tamil film “Thiruttu Payale”, which was a huge hit in South, the Hindi version stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Puja Gupta and Ameesha Patel.
