We’ve seen the newly opened restaurant a stone’s throw away from the office, since early last month. It was The Burger Project. The unit was previously occupied by PINO resto and bar, which moved to a bigger space in Malingap St. I guess we never thought to try it so soon, especially since eating out last time was out of the budget.

We have the budget now, and decided to try it out.

What you do is go up the counter and fill up the form for making your own burger. If you don’t feel like thinking of wanting on your burger, there’s a chalkboard on the side with all their recommended combinations. Otherwise, feel free to start your creation. And they call your creations BRGRs.

You start by choosing how many patties you want, the kind of the bun (poppy seed or potato) and type of cheese. The fun part is choosing the rest of the toppings, you can pick from bacon to chili con carne, from caramelised onions to jalapenos, and also add lettuce, pickles and tomatoes.

You can also choose side dishes, like fries and buffalo wings. And they also have yummy milkshakes you can already be full with.

Anyway, our burgers!

Mine was a single patty in a poppy seed bun, with gruyere cheese, Canadian bacon, caramelized onions and barbeque sauce. P200

I called mine the Completely Random BRGR! Because I couldn’t decide what I wanted in mine. But I loved it! The combination tasted like a grilled steak burger.

The hubby’s was a single patty in a poppy seed bun, with bleu cheese, egg, chili con carne and wasabi mayonaise. P2001

He called it the Zerg BRGR, being currently addicted with StarCraft 2. And it was surprisingly good! And this is coming from a person that gets annoyed by wasabi most of the time. And since there were so many wet ingredients in his plate, I thought to my self, it can also be a sloppy joe. haha. We dipped the fries in the dripped out sauce as well, and it was lovely.

All in all, the burgers were delicious. The onion rings are breaded nicely, the fries seasoned well. And the milkshakes like I said, are thick and creamy and yummy, you can already be full just with them.

The basic burger with just a single patty and poppy seed bun is P95, and P25-P35 more for each additional topping . The patty by itself tastes great, but the endless possibilities of combinations is the fun thing about this whole thing! And I think that’s what draws regulars in. The Burger Project is indeed a very tasty prospect.

The Burger Project

Now I want to do more food reviews in this awesome food street I’m living in.

He wanted to try the potato bun but they didn’t have it that day. ↩

Eight years of logging my personal thoughts, and it is only then I could reach a number equivalent to victory in NaNoWriMo terms. Look at that. I guess I am not a real talker of things about me then, considering my first couple of years I kept writing here like crazy.

The Grey Wardens fight a Darkspawn attack

I’ve been playing Dragon Age: Origins since it came out late last year, and also fangirling over it like crazy. We even have both the PS3 and PC games. I have a confession though— I have yet to officially finish it.

Don’t get me wrong, I make time for it every now and then. I have even foregone a couple in my reading list just so I can play. And I am actually already at the final part where you defeat the Archdemon. But, I just can’t seem to finish it. I’ve tried so many times1, but I can’t seem to beat the game— and am on Easy mode already!

My husband, who only played the game more recently, has already beaten it more than twice when I have yet to finish it my self. Heck, I finished Mass Effect 1 at least three times, with Mass Effect 2 at least once.

I let time pass me by, until the Dragon Age Awakenings expansion came. Yes, we bought that too. And I played it with a new character, just so I can move on. I am also already at the final chapter and again, I fail to slay the final boss. Now both games lay untouched on the computer table waiting for me to start trying again.

Now, you play as the Darkspawn

Now, with the upcoming Darkspawn Chronicles DLC, I find myself longing for it but do I even dare try again. I still have hopes though, that I finally do beat the game by my self. I guess, I just need a bit more hope.

One day, I will beat you Archdemon and Mother.
