Taxonomy Changes

Hello,

Does anyone have a link to the major taxonomy changes that have taken place? For instance, I have a Doritis pulcherrima, but I thought I had heard that Doritis and Phaleonopsis were now considered to be the same genus.

Just wanted to see if any of my plant labels needed cleanup.

Hello,

I was in some need of some cheering up, so I bought a couple new orchids.

The first two are Paph tonsum ('David' x tonsum alba 'Pistacho'). Something about the understated and muted colors drew me to this particular plant. I guess this is technically still a species with one albino as a grandparent.

Just for a little contrast, the second two are Odcdm. Tiger Crow 'Golden Girl' HCC/AOS. It's hard to beat this one for such a vivid chrome yellow.

This Ascocenda has been growing in this vase for a little over a year now and I've gotten good results from this cultural method. Especially nice if you do not enjoy watering your indoor vandas every day!

Dendrobium maraiparense

Found in Sabah at pre mountain level. Just got it 5 months ago initially thought as den. uniflorum but its turn up to be ? Dendrobium maraiparense.... may be or may be new species. Just enjoy the beauty of this small chid.

hi folks,

im uberexcited with this one, it smells like fresh laundry out in the sun!

this genus was established by jim cootes and his filipino colleague. more known as eria aporoides, previously described as dendrobium and others.

i like the color combo of those showy leaves, yellow/orange bracts and white sparcling bloom.

Dendrobium anosmum ' alba ' in bloom

This Den anosmum 'alba' is supposed to bloom in March-April but due to very unseasonal weather it is blooming now.Like the normal Den anosmum it is very fragrant.

dendrobium yellowing leaves.

hey guys, i have another problem...

the dendrobium that i got a few weeks ago had a few leaves yellow and fall out.

when i got the plant, it has about 5-6 canes. 2 of them have leaves. the smaller cane had 3 and the newest/biggest cane had 8 leaves. the problem started like last week when 2 of the 3 leaves yellowed and fell. it didnt dry out, it just yellowed and fell. 3 days ago, the 4th leaf from the bottom in the largest cane yellowed and a day after it dropped. and now the 5th leaf is starting to yellow.

is it normal for middle dendrobium leaves to fall out? the medium is coconut hust and charcoal in clay pot with holes. it is also as of the moment flowering, 3 are still buds. do i need to repot?
