The band hit the PR circuit over the past few weeks to promote the tour and their new lineup featuring drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold, including a cover feature in the latest edition of PROG magazine. The cover includes a photo of Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee with their double-neck guitars, with a tagline reading, RUSH are back and they're loving every minute of it, along with the featured quote, "We're an overnight sensation, 50 years in the making". The feature includes a new interview with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson titled Making Memories, where the pair discuss the chain of events that led them to their decision to dust off their instruments and hit the road once again. Also included is an article titled The Curious Case Of Roger Kneebend!: Revisiting Grace Under Pressure which explores the making of the band's Grace Under Pressure album, one of the band's more challenging to record. The Making Memories interview also addresses Ged and Al's lifelong friendship, as demonstrated in this short excerpt that Guitar.com posted earlier this week where Geddy Lee blames Alex Lifeson for introducing him to marijuana:
...

He talks about how he first met Geddy at The Who Hits 50! Teenage Cancer Trust benefit concert back in 2014, and how that meeting led to him getting the gig. Gold is a big Bay Area sports fan, so much of the discussion was focused on that, with Gold bringing up how he and Geddy have bonded over their love of baseball, and Gold being impressed with Ged's extensive baseball knowledge; they plan to hit a few games while out on tour. He also talks a bit about how he'll be singing some background vocals as well as keys, and hopes everyone will accept he and Anika as part of the band:
...

"... [Lifeson] was the one who introduced me to it," Lee says. "I was playing in this other band whose drummer was a Who freak - he dreamed of being in The Who. Me and Al were hanging out... and he gave me my first joint. I got so fucking stoned." Unfortunately, it was only after getting thoroughly high that the penny dropped - Lee had somewhere to be. "Suddenly I went, 'Shit, I have to go to rehearsal!'" he says. Aware that he had been the one to corrupt Lee, tempting him to get stoned in the middle of the day, Lifeson offered to walk with Lee to his rehearsal. "Al came with me, and we were walking in slow motion across the park," Lee remembers. "I got to the guy's house, and he looked at me and went: 'Look at your eyes, man. Are you stoned?' He was freaking out like you'd expect your parents to freak out." "I was like, 'This is a bummer, man! Al, this guy's a drag!'" Lee laughs. "I said, 'I gotta go home. How do I come down from this stuff?' And [Lifeson] went, 'You gotta drink Coca Cola. It brings you down.' So, yeah, we kind of bonded over marijuana." While Lee adds that he's "never touched the stuff since", it's a comment clearly made in jest. ...

...

Rush cover feature in the latest issue of Classic Rock Magazine

UPDATE - 4/5@7:20PM: John at Cygnus-X1.net has transcribed the entire piece and made it available online here.

UPDATE - 4/5@12:15PM: Guitar.com posted a few more excerpts from the article here:

... While the band ultimately decided to go by Rush on their comeback tour, it was a hot topic of debate amongst the team. But, as Geddy Lee says in the latest issue of Classic Rock, "What else do you fucking call it?" when you're performing a back-to-back set of Rush cuts. "When the band ended, we said it's only Rush with Neil in it," he explains. "Which of course is true. Rush as most people know it. But, you know, over five gigs we will be playing forty Rush songs. So what the fuck should we call it, Iron Maiden?" While the band will be touring with new drummer Anika Nilles, Peart's family has given their blessing for the group to tour under the Rush name once again. Because, when it comes down to it, Lifeson and Lee have gone by Rush for over five decades - it's a part of them. "We were twisting ourselves into a pretzel to try to avoid using the name that we have had for fifty years, and even before Neil came," Lee says. Of course, the tour opening at the venue that played host to Peart's final Rush performance is the band's way of respecting their late drummer's legacy. But they won't let the loss define Rush and confine it to the annals of history. "It just seems silly to go on as Lee and Lifeson Present The Music Of..." Lee concludes.
