For a while I’ve watched you from afar (which I think you’ll agree is pretty bloody romantic). Okay so maybe it was more like watching you from a van but it’s the same damn thing (only slightly more specific).

Okay so as you can see I am now sporting a rather spiffy beard; a beard not unlike the kind that might shout things at and about damn dirty apes.

To be honest, I have been getting a bit nostalgic for the good old prolific days of yesteryear as I’ve been working on my new comic project. Most of the jokes that I’ve come up with lately have been going straight into that story but what’s the harm in recycling one or two of them for this series. In our current climate, I’d call that prudent.

Anyway, I’ll post something else soon so as not to upset you my lovely punters.

Growing a thick and lustrous beard is going to be taking up all of the time I usually allow for roastytoasty so I’ve had to make some pretty big decisions about the comic. I decided to go with the beard until further notice.

I wonder if it’s easier in the afterlife for recently deceased mediums to talk to the dead or whether they get shunned by the dead community over general misrepresentation. No, wait…even better, if a recently dead medium died and was called upon by a living medium, would there be a power struggle to out-medium one another or would they respect the art over the ego?

Hollywood tells me that sometimes I’ve got to break the rules to experience magic and adventure in this world. It can’t tell me which rules or when I should break them or how I should break them but if I break the right rules at the wrong time or the wrong rules at the right time then I will only be an extra in the greatest adventure of all time.

I wasn’t sure whether to use the American smartass or the English smartarse in the last panel. My formative years in England want me to grab on tightly to that arse and never let go but language changes and I have no problem with that fo-shizzle-dizzle.

Although I am surprised that Americans use the word ass over arse since arse (and I think you’ll agree) is significantly more well-rounded than ass; and when you consider such a large number of Americans have (and appreciate) a more well-rounded ass it seems like the obvious choice.

but what do I know?…I’m more of a boob man.

Twenty four hours is a pretty long time to be planning for. I try not to make any plans further than 24 minutes away (with mixed results). I’m not a fortune-teller and neither are the toothpaste companies so who are we to be deciding the fate of 24-hour-in-the-future-dave? I say let him be the one to determine his own fate (and not that of 48-hour-in-the-future-dave).

A lot of people ask me for my opinions on swords which in itself is strange. I think I just have one of those faces.

My opinions on swords are somewhat limited on account of the lack of any formal training in the art of bladeacity. Combined with that is my limited understanding of basic home hardwares, so it wasn’t until a few years ago that I (rather regrettably) found out that pop-rivets were not actually the remains of tiny mouse duels.

I think it would be naive to believe that Doctor Emmet Brown and family lived happily ever after following the events of back to the futures one, two and three. His ties to Libyan terror cells most likely suggest that he is currently locked up in Guantanamo Bay after the last great purge. I suspect he’s sharing a cell with Alladin, Matt Damon, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
