Thanks to the more than 50 golfers who came out to play in the Roanoke Valley Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association’s annual golf tournament. The event raises scholarship money for local students attending Virginia Tech.

All Hokies, Hokie fans, and friends are invited to come down to cornerstone bar and grill on the Roanoke Market to share some cold drinks, good food and fellowship. There is no cover charge. Drink specials will be available and refreshments will be provided courtesy of Cornerstone Bar & Grill. While there, please feel free to reach out to an Alumni Association Board Member to learn more about the Roanoke Chapter, other activities and events we have planned for the coming year, and how you can help us provide scholarships to local students attending Virginia Tech.

May 5 (Wednesday), 6:30 p.m.- Join us for our monthly board meeting at the Starbuck’s at Towers. We will be discussing planning for our golf tournament in August.

May 8 (Saturday), 12-3 pm - Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. We will be joining forces at the Cave Spring Post Office to sort food during their food drive.

August 6 (Friday), all day - 22nd Annual Hokie Football Kickoff Celebration Golf Tournament and Cookout. Come out to Hanging Rock Golf Course in Salem and play golf all day to help support our scholarship fund for Roanoke Valley Hokies. Email Matt Spencer for more information.

It’s that time of year again! Time to start thinking and planning for the Roanoke Valley Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Associations 22nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament and Cookout!

The golf tournament raises scholarship money to be awarded to local high school students attending Virginia Tech. This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 6, at Hanging Rock Golf Club.

This is a great opportunity for local businesses to support local students who have the grades, but could use some financial assistance. We had some great sponsors last year and are looking forward to another successful tournament!

We have reserved a regular time and place for all of our future Roanoke Hokies Board Meetings.

Please join us the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm at the Starbucks at Towers. The upstairs room has been reserved from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Grab a coffee and meet us up there or mingle downstairs while we wait for everyone to join us.

The next board meeting will be Wednesday, October 7 at 6:30pm at the Towers Starbucks.

Join us on Saturday, October 17 at Montano’s in Roanoke to watch the Hokies take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets! Game time is 6 p.m., so we’ll be there at 5:30.

Starts at 5:30 p.m. at Montano’s (Kickoff is at 6 p.m.) Dinner is $25/person (pay at the door). Proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund. Need more information?
