The goal of clicker is to be the best search engine for video content. Currently the problem with TV shows online isn’t that they’re hard to find, but that too much of the good stuff just isn’t available yet.

Clicker will point you in the direction of whatever you are looking for, but won’t serve up the videos themselves. They will also delve into surfacing content not explicitly produced for television, but is still high quality web video content. But they don’t want to be YouTube, which is cluttered with user-generated content.

While there are no shortage of video search engines out there, Clicker believes its offering is superior because it organizes a structured database of on internet for all named television shows. This organization of this data not only allows for better search results, but it allows you to browse content without having to do text-based searches. As per the Clicker Blog:
The last generation of television was so simple in retrospect. Shows were on at certain times. You used a schedule grid to find a show, and either watched it at the appointed time, or recorded it with your DVR. The expansion from three networks to 500 cable channels was nowhere near as dramatic as the current shift to online-delivered content. We’re entering a world of nearly infinite video-on-demand across every device you own, from your iPhone to your real TV. What this generation needs to manage their viewing habits isn’t a schedule, it’s an atlas! Clicker aims to provide the most comprehensive, unbiased and user-friendly way to navigate what’s available to watch online, where and when you can find it, and finally, what’s worth watching amongst your infinite choices.

Clicker is a hybrid of many other kinds of information and entertainment sites: one part directory, one part search engine, one part Wiki, one part entertainment guide, and one part DVR. At the heart of it all is a massive structured database, created by a team of people from search, media, data and content management backgrounds. Clicker has mapped more than 300,000 episodes, from over 5,200 shows, from over 1,200 networks in addition to 1,200 movies , and 50,000 music videos from 20,000 artists. All of this programming is organized by episode, show, network, media type, title, and artist, as well as over 1,000 categories and sub-categories.
Though Clicker is going for a different market, when the aired television episodes will be available online then surely we’ll need search enghines ike clicker. TIll then we wish for the success of clicker.

It will embed if they’re available, which you probably won’t be doing when television and future web-enabled tablets start to serve up this content

Watch this video:

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. Recently my attention was grabbed by the online distractions which made me to seriously reduce my time on Internet. Web surfing, other than for work, really becomes a problem rather than a productivity tool.

The increasing percentage of Internet users in developed countries are getting addicted to it. As a matter of fact when I have free access to the web it is most likely to disperse my attention.

In case you are into designing something, coding an application or writing a book the online distractions can obviously be a problem, but the solution is probably called discipline.

Usually the limited access to internet is just enough to get it all done, so I would be left with no time to chat or to send tweets, watch YouTube videos or browse around social bookmarking sites.

The kind of work I am into requires research, collecting links which could hardly be produced offline. Also it is probably fair to suggest that time out for Facebook is less injurious than time out for smoking but unplugging can certainly boost your productivity.

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. In order to find the answer now you there is no need to drill down your tons of tweets. I recently stumbled upon a website caled Tweet1 which helps you in finding this for you. It was quite interesting to find out what was the first tweet of your known ones or whom you follow. Designed by littledeer is a similar application to My First Tweet. You can also drag Tweet #1 to your bookmarks bar and simply Click while looking at a user's profile or tweet to see their first tweet.

And when I tried to find out for problogger I got the following...

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. Some people may blog and not even know that they are blogging. What do great blogs have in common? This all is contained in the book complied by Dan Morrill.

Blogging which is termed Creative Destruction is All About Ambition with benefit of blogging is that you can become an expert in a subject, start speaking in public, and be invited to social events.

Dan Morrill who is author to this book has been blogging since 2003, starting with Live Journal and Blogger.com writing about technology. Due to so many applications intruding you the site has become quite disturbing and was already deviating from its core purpose. It went live in the U.S. and India first but a couple of hours later it went live to other countries today.

It seems that it has bypassed the old Facebook applications for good, the only unfortunate part is that it has not even not included chat which has become essential for social networking. It is designed so you can just log on real quick, post a status update, and get on. It is a straight forward tool which only allows you to post updates be it in photos, videos or links and view your friends’ updates as well. It’s cleaner and lighter for users in countries where Internet connection is slow.

The major visual change which are prominent are simply that most of the the navigation and info page that was on the left of the page is now gone. The user is not distracted by the mostly superfluous details that resided there. The input box is also gone, replaced by buttons

After acquiring Friendfeed. Facebook started real-time search. And now, it looks like Facebook’s intentions are clear and high. Try “Facebook Lite” here.

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. You can put videos, images, text or music along with comments after the posts. It has got no character limits. Yahoo Meme allows you to search for other people in the network.

Yahoo might have compiled lots of points as it has already seen Twitter growing, they could have atleast offered services which Twitter offers along with added features and other stuff like Importing your Twitter settings, or Tweets which could have made many people signup and use Yahoo Meme. It’s been only a couple of months since I started this practice. The pressure to maintain this posting frequency sometimes definitely becomes a barrier to create the interesting content.

Blog something which is close to your heart, it’s good for your spirit and psyche. But as soon as i realised that they're or computer aided Twitter accounts and probably not all real people who are following me I flushed them off with TwitBlock. This post is raise awareness, and hopefully educate Twitter users about how to avoid falling foul of cons and phishing traps.

This service allows users to scan their followers for suspicious behaviour (ignore factor, follow rate, identical profile pictures, among others) and block them directly. Applying different detection / rating algorithms, the website analyzes account followers and displays suspicious accounts based on the obtained rating. It will check in the bio field and status updates for known spam keywords. These include promotional, marketing, financial and adult-related words.

Tweets via API are a sign of spam, since many bots use automated scripts that connect in and update statuses or interact with other users. The Follow Rate examines the number of days a user has been on Twitter and the number of accounts they're following. If the ratio is big, it's a sign of automation. Only a bot could add on a regular basis 100 accounts per day to their account, while a normal person would have a very low ratio. Adding more than ten new followers a day will result in extra spamming points.

The only demerit is that you have to share your twitter password with the application though the service claims that it cannot see and store it. TwitBlock is currently in Alpha and an upgraded version of the website being in the works.

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. As per psychologists the younger ones who play with words and pictures early in life tend to score higher in cognitive and aptitude tests later on. They read and draw more, and are better able to understand concepts and ideas, they become comfortable with the act of creation: turning nothing into something.

Stories are the currency of life, particularly in families. Parents entertain and educate their kids through stories. And kids contextualize and imagine the world through narrative. It’s how our brains work. For us, the goal was to design a service that made storytelling effortless.Story telling promotes imagination, literacy, and self-confidence. In an idea-based society, that’s a key advantage.

Storybird is also a simple publishing platform for writers and artists that allows them to experiment, publish their stories, and connect with their fans ot to simply connect kids and families. Two or more people create a Storybird in a round robin fashion by writing their own text and inserting pictures. They then have the option of sharing their Storybird privately or publicly on the network. The final product can be printed (soon), watched on screen, played with like a toy, or shared through a worldwide library.

It’s simple. Someone starts a Storybird by writing a few words or grabbing a few images. Then the other person takes a turn, adding more words and pictures. In as little as one or two turns they can finish and share a Storybird. It’s that easy. And they can do it sitting side-by-side or across the country from each other.
As per Storybird Blog Old routines like reading a book together or playing a board game have become increasingly rare and new routines, particularly online, haven’t caught up. There are grown-up services and kid services—but no service actually connects both groups. That’s where Storybird comes in. We use collaborative storytelling to connect kids with their families.
Making, sharing, and reading Storybirds online is free of cost. We sincerely wish that this idea takes off smoothly. All the Best StoryBird...

One more similar service to create stories online is Whrrl

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. In fact, playing video war games and solving Sudoku may have the same effect as keeping up to date with Facebook, while text messaging, micro-blogging on Twitter can weaken "working memory" which involves the ability both to remember information and to use it. In fact, her team has developed a working memory training programme that greatly increased the performance of slow-learning children aged 11 to 14 at a school.
Dr. Alloway said that the fact that Facebook users keep track of their updates and think about what they are going to post next are beneficial for exercising one’s working memory. In contrast, Twitter may have the opposite effect since the microblogging site just let users receive “an endless stream of information which are very succint”. These information do not require processing for one to get what message it is trying to convey. Hence a Twitter user fan’s attention span is reduced and one’s brain is not engaged at all.
Working memory involves the ability both to remember information and to use it. At a job interview, a candidate will employ working memory to match answers to questions in the most impressive way. Her team has developed a working memory training programme that greatly increased the performance of slow-learning children aged 11 to 14 at a school in Durham.

After eight weeks of ''JungleMemory'' training, the children saw 10 point improvements in IQ, literacy and numeracy tests. A number who started off close to the bottom of the class ended up near the top which was a massive effect.

Link to News Article

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. Botanicalls opens a new channel of communication between plants and humans, in an effort to promote successful inter-species understanding. The Botanicalls project is fundamentally about communication between plants and people.
Goals of Botanicalls Classic
1. Keep the plants alive by translating the communication protocols of the plants (leaf habit, color of foliage, droop, etc) to more common human communication protocols (email, voice phone calls, digital visualizations, etc).
2. Enhance people’s connection to plants, and explore the ways plants help humans, how caring for a shared resource can create sense of community, and how natural life is a valuable counterpoint to our technical environment.
3. You might have heard Social Media term, even if you don't use the tools. But just how big has social media become? As per reports the Social media has officially surpassed pornography as the top activity on the Internet. People would rather give up their e-mail than their social network. To make the most of social networking from a professional perspective, you have to take a unique approach. There is no doubt that currently Social networking wave is the most recent development on the Internet. If you want targeted traffic, the social networks like Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter with many others are the place to find it.

The question appears : Are social networking sites diluting count of comments on your blog?

This is true but as per my perception there is a dark side to social networking and social book marking when it comes to your Blog. The multiple sites that you are using for your social networking to promote your online content could be killing comments section of your blog. What is your personal opinion please show your participation on the following poll.

It is important that you take the steps today to prevent the death of your comment section. While social networks are popular among users as a place to, well, socialize and make new friends, these Internet hotspots are also ripe with business opportunity. No less an authority on the brain’s workings.

Susan Greenfield, a professor of pharmacology at Oxford University and the director of the Royal Institution of Great Britain, told a British newspaper that social networking sites remind her of the way that “Small babies need constant reassurance that they exist” and make her worry about the effects that this sort of stimulation is having on the brains of users. Lady Greenfield told the Daily Mail. Her fear is that these technologies are infantilizing the brain into the state of small children who are attracted by buzzing noises and bright lights, who have a small attention span and who live for the moment.

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. I try to revise it but mostly do all the edit work while writing it. It creates a very bad impression on your readers when you publish a post with lots of spelling mistakes. I am a firefox user and I tried many spell check plugins but all went futile as they were have a confined check on my posts and email but didn't bothered for my Blog Post Titles and Email subject lines. For this I have to get my Spell Check option corrected of my browser.

To get accurate posts and their titles while using firefox follow this tutorial which will help you running accurate spell check for your every blog post.

Its glad to learn that with the evolution in web browsers there are lot more things that have been changing which has made them definitely better and secure. The built-in spell checker application program in the Firefox browser will flag words in a document when users do not spell correctly. It lets users enter text directly into web pages such as blog posts, email, forum, etc without any typos. But when users fill data into ant text box the spell check doesn’t work at all.

To extend the spell check in web form, there is little users need to do to modify the hidden preference for the spell-checker to work in web form.

1. Open Firefox and at the top click on Tools and select Options.

2. Go to Advanced tab and put a tick on Check my spelling as I type and click on Ok.

By clicking this option the firefox starts doing spelling check as and when users do the typing.

3. In the address bar type about:config and hit enter. The next message will be...

This might void your warranty!
Changing these advanced setttings can be harmful to the stability, security and performance of this application. You should only continue if you are sure of what you are doing.

4. Click on I'll be careful, I promise!

4. In the search box type spellcheck and hit Enter.

5. Now right click on layout.spellcheckDefault and select Modify.

6. Replace the value from 1 to 2 and click Ok.

Restart your browser and you are done. From now, spell check is activated on every text box you write.

Firefox will show a red color line under every misspelled word. This trick now works on every text box be it of Wordpress, Gmail or Blogger:

You can correct al the mistakes by simply right clicking on the misspelled word:

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. The one step solution to the slow browser is to delete all archived history once in a while. The browsers tend to become slow because of their heavy remembered history data. When you delete the entire history it has remembered till date for you and changing the history preferences further you can feel the difference.

For you we have compiled steps to delete history from three most used web browsers. Follow the procedure given below for the corrosponding Browsers.

Mozilla Firefox

1. Open Firefox
2. Press Ctrl+Shift+Del key to delete – make sure you select everything under the time range for the history.

Note: Don’t worry this will not delete your remembered username and password but make sure to uncheck the thing you want not to clean up as the action cannot be undone.

3. Click clear now and instantly you will feel the fast firefox speed after doing this.

Google Chrome

1. Open Chrome and click the menu at the right corner with the symbol of wrench.
2. Select Clear browsing data.
3. Select the checkboxes for the types of information you wish to remove. Click the links below to learn more about the different options.
4. Clear browsing history
5. Clear the list of the websites you've visited in Google Chrome. Their content will no longer be searchable from the History page. Clearing your browsing history specifically deletes the following:

URLs of webpages you visited from the History page
Cached text of those webpages
Snapshots of those webpages for thumbnails
IP addresses that were pre-fetched from those webpages

In order to clear history for a specific day write the following address on your URL Locator chrome://history/

Internet Explorer

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click on Tools Menu
3. Go to Internet Options and you may also check the option Delete browsing history on exit to automatically drain your daily history. this option is only advisable when you are the only user on your computer.

PS: To delete history of a particular day you may do so by navigating to the link of corrosponding day by simply pressing Ctrl + H in any of the above mentioned Browsers.

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. There are many product and service sites across the web. Out of which some will fail, only few will succeed but it’s important that you join the bandwagon in product creating because if you don’t create you are simply out of the race.

Why are you blogging?

The noteworthy point is that the blogosphere is constantly changing, and with change the opportunity for new products or services are given life. It’s important that you stay tuned to the most recent additions of market. This will help you to generate ideas that may turn your blog successful and unique.
The person who gets the farthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare. Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it's not. It takes patience, commitment and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won't. it's whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere. If you care at all, you'll get some results. If you care enough, you'll get incredible results.
What makes my blog unique –An Analysis

Have you clearly understood the purpose of your blog? What compliments have it received from readers? What articles were linked from other bloggers and why? What problems that you faced over the past? After analysing all these questions, which comprehends other bloggers, websites, readers and pretty much everything that is not under your control. You need to pay attention to what could possibly change in the near future and how your blog could benefit from that.

Are you blogging infrequently?

It’s important that you take some time to create a schedule, a system that will work for you. I personally blog on a variety of different topics but when I do it I make sure that I create a to-do list. I try to keep away from the web. I set a fixed schedule time to write and ensure that I keep my schedule and ultimately I try to remind myself of why I’m blogging. The process and system always varies, however, it’s extremely important that you create your system as soon as possible and stick to it.

What is purpose of your Blog?

Opportunities usually emerge after you start looking the same thing with a different perspective, therefore your first goal in blogging is to create a purpose for your blog. In the same way that organizations are responsible for creating a mission statement you are also responsible for creating one as well. Once you understand why your blogging and what’s your true purpose you’ll realize that everything will come easy. You will get ahead of your competition and take away the lead.

Conclusion

Your blog can definitly turn into a successful site on the internet but for this you require Focused Intelligence. After a particular threshold all of us are equally intelligent. If it is true then why only a handful are successful. This is for the reason because Focused Intelligence always pays.

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. The social web generates a stream of citations of things like documents, videos, pictures, etc which people are talking about. Searching through this stream of citations means separating the network of people from the things they discuss. Being able to do this is key to Topsy approach.

Today, with the explosion of social networking platforms like Twitter more and more links to interesting information originate from people, from the conversation streams within the social web. Topsy is designed to extract the collective signal from the social web in real-time. To measure the relative importance of each search result, Topsy examines the links being mentioned, the description of these links and the influence of each person citing a link.
Topsy is a next age band search engine, with a new-fangled way of looking at the web. It doesn’t think the Internet is a collection of documents. Or even a web of documents. Topsy sees the Internet as a stream of conversations. Topsy treats people differently from the webpages they create and the things they say. And Topsy sees that people in every community are connected in a web of relationships, where each person influences other people to read, talk and think about things.
Topsy augments traditional search engines by finding interesting and relevant information that people are talking about. If other people are discussing it, Topsy thinks you might find it interesting and relevant too! When you search for something on Topsy, such as “rHour“, it finds snippets of conversations that match what you’re looking for. Topsy results are the things people link to, when they’re talking about your search terms. Topsy ranks results based on how well they match your search terms, and the influence of the people talking about them.

So let's Topsy out!

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. We are living in a time in which as soon as we encounter any technical or general problem we seek internet to find the immediate solution. Though there are many experts out there to help you yet most of the times you are still with same doubts. In whatever way possible, the next-gen applications help you connect and learn faster but that kills the whole point of yourself researching your own subject. There is an observation which says that it gradually kills your brain cells and kills your IQ.

How many of us really-really needed these social networks? As society moves forward in the course of evolution with fast changing technology we stand at a point in history, so it becomes essential to contemplate about all we are doing. Looking back into time there was time when we loved to join random Yahoo chat rooms and chat with each others with funny virtual names for hours when those chats carried no sense at all. We all now agree on the point that community, sharing, and connecting by using social media not only serves Relationships and conversation for Creativity and re-mixes culture to hug your passion and identity. It is also a way of democratization of media to Increase transparency in government and organizations.

Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to use the Internet and they won’t bother you for weeks.
Another problem associated with being too social is that anyone can track you - Who you are, your friends, and your background, anything and everything. People know your company, educational background, your level of seriousness. Your attitude and your taste, by just looking and digging out those scraps and tweets you have been doing. This has great impact on your career. Most of the people join Social Media because it is cool. If you receive a friend request, the network might be great, for your friend, but not necessarily for you. For most it is the biggest time killer.

How social media can help you find a new job
or thrown from the existing.

Incase if you do have good reasons using social media, you must understand the benefit you’ll get back from the time invested. If the ratio doesn’t seem to work, You need to re-think.

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. We are relying almost entirely on Twitter, Facebook for email, chat, image and even video sharing. If we scrutinize the evolving trends and utilities, Twitter and Facebook are simply communication tools but with different flairs.

As we can clearly see from the studies that other social media collectively leaves emailing far behind. If we talk about twitter I have a very big doubt that the person whom I do not know very well will hardly be interested in knowing that what I am doing in the another corner of the world. All of us, while using Twitter, be likely to use it to post useless updates like “Having Lunch”, thinking of it as a another tool to communicate with friends, when in fact, it is more like a platform where you are communicating with an audience and need to say something informative and innovative. People refer to twitter as a Micro Blogging platform but I personally hate over-emphasis on follower counts to build so called authority.

The usefulness of Twitter is not readily as obvious to some people as Facebook; although it may be more addictive once you start Tweeting. Facebook is a social networking Portal which is more difficult to navigate and update to communicate within your circle. It can be very addicting to people who have a intense desire to stay connected with friends. In fact, some people report they most people can very quickly clutch how to use Facebook to connect to friends and family, using it to share thoughts, images, etc.

When you go to attend some function where lots of people already know each other, the communication here will be just like using Facebook. In this kind of environment, people tend to feel easy. Conversations are familiar and center on shared experiences and connections. Now, when you go to a larger social event where you don’t know most of the people, you will use a very different style of communication, more like of Twitter; you want to meet people and somehow make yourself known, stand out from the crowd, make an impression, self promote and make new connections. Twitter is like getting the stage and not everyone feels happy or knows how to stand comfortably in the spotlight.
The liveliness of Twitter seems quite exciting when you get more immediate responses. It has got value in case you have something to promote as it encourages you to share information updates or just let others know what you’re up to at any given point of time. Twitter encourages constant linking to anywhere and, in that respect, is analogous to find people and content all over the Net just like a search engine. Twitter is useful tool amongst bloggers and online marketers.
So finally our questions seems to remain unanswered.

Twitter or Facebook?

Both communication tools will continue to evolve as users find new ways to extract value and either network may or may become a long term winner in the rapidly evolving social networking space. Ultimately, the fact remains to be seen whether either application has a profitable, scalable and sustainable business model or whether the exit strategy is simply to be acquired. It seems that eventually merger of both will succeed so Why not use the both?

Subscribe to our RSS Feed

Subscribe Newsletter

Tips and tricks

Latest trends

Useful online tools

It's free!

Enter your email address:

<input style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 160); width: 140px;" title="Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you.
