Paice Family of Four

I was lucky enough to have the Paice family invite me back to photograph them a second time while they holidayed on the Gold Coast, only this time there was someone new for me to meet, lovely little Zoe. Though as it is with eldest children, almost-three-year-old Lachlan stole the show for most of our time together. After only a few moments of shyness, Lachlan and I became fast friends. Take a look at Lachlan as a baby the first time I photographed this family here.

Yvonne and I have known each other since the beginning of our pregnancies with our first children and we’ve both welcomed our second children this year, so we had a lot to talk about when we caught up for this session. Parenting two children is a whole new ball game, but with it comes a different level of confidence and ease that I see in these photographs of Yvonne with Zoe.

Nicole & Mark’s Family

Meet Nicole and Mark’s family; 5 year old Elise, and 18 month old Hayden. They are good friends of our good friends – have a look through my wedding gallery and you might spy a photograph of Mark in Trish and Rowan’s wedding photographs.

It was lovely to spend a morning getting to know this family. Hayden and I became fast friends with him offering me up lots of lovely cuddles, Elise and I spent some time in her beautiful bedroom while she wrote out the alphabet for me. Like all children I photograph, they gave me a little window of opportunity to take their photographs before they found other things to amuse them ;-)

After sitting down to work through their images from this session, I’m really excited to see the plans Nicole and Mark have for these photographs and cannot wait to see their plans come to life. Until then, here are a few of my favourite photographs from our morning together…

Rebecca’s Family

Meet our lovely new friends Rebecca and Giuseppe and their beautiful daughters Allegra and Sierra. Bec and I met through a local mum’s group, both of our eldest daughters being just 6 weeks apart in age and I’m pleased to say that our families have become fast friends. When Bec told me that she was expecting their second child, I gifted her this family session, I couldn’t wait to do it and I do hope they are as pleased with the results as I am – considering we were wrangling a toddler and baby in the late hours of the day :)

Yasmin & Ivy

Yasmin is the younger sister of one of my closest friends. It was an honour and a great pleasure to share a little moment of Yasmin’s journey to motherhood with her on this day, I know it’s a cliche, but she really did glow.

The gorgeous evening light and Yasmin’s emerald green dress even inspired me to shoot a little colour film – the results were most definitely worth it :)

Bergan Family

Meet Jon & Marnie. Wonderfully creative owners of Bergan Blue. Parents to beautiful Sibella. And dear friends. If I lived around the corner from this gorgeous family, Marnie and I would be terrible housewives but expert bakers and tea drinkers in no time ;-) As it is we spend a decent chunk of our time emailing, SMSing, Facebooking, Instagraming already!

These guys made a flying visit to Brisbane to catch up with friends, so we thought we’d combine a catch up with some family, couple and individual portraits. We had a blast! It was also a real treat to see our girls meet and become fast friends.

I hope you guys enjoy your images. Very much looking forward to the next time we can catch up again xx

Meet our wonderful friend’s second baby, Ben. Little brother to Grace. This gorgeous man is such a chilled out fella, nothing much bothers him and he is so happy to go with the flow. A dream baby :)

Evie’s First Year

A very quick post of our beautiful niece Evie over the first year of her life. We held four sessions at 10 days, 4 months, 8 months and 14 months (the weather and our schedules made it difficult to hold a session at 12 months). Here is a sample of those sessions for Pete & Mary of their lovely little lady. I’ll put together a full post from these sessions shortly.

Paice Family

Yvonne is a new friend, a new cyber friend, we met in an online mothers group for women who were due to give birth in September last year. It’s a great mix of women, all of whom feel like trusted friends now - even though only a few of us have met in real life because we are spread all across Australia. So it was a real treat to meet Yvonne, Paicey and their gorgeous little man, Lachlan when they were holidaying on the Gold Coast.

When we first met online, Yvonne so kindly mentioned that she’d love to have me photograph her baby when he or she was born, but with her family living in Victoria and us in Queensland, that always seemed so unlikely. What a treat it was for us to make it happen recently! :)

Thank you for asking me to photograph your lovely little family Yvonne, it was a great afternoon. Most of all though, it was wonderful to meet you in person. How nice to know that ease of online chat just flows on into real life ;-) Here are a handful of your photographs …

Michaela

I have known Michaela, and her twin Melissa, since they were born. I was 10 years old and spent every day after school playing with them. They lived next door for 5 years until their family moved back to New Zealand and we have kept in touch ever since. Michaela is 19 and at university studying to be a teacher – she will be such an awesome teacher! – and she flew to Australia for a bit of a break over Summer, so I took the opportunity to photograph her while she was staying with us.
