Genre – Adventure; Drama
Director – Spike Jonze
Cast – Max Records, Pepita Emmerichs
Release date-16th October 2009
Rated-PG

Where the wild things are is a story about Max (Max Records), a young boy who is always misunderstood and all he wants all the time is to have fun. Soon he gets fed up of the way his life is shaping up. One day, he runs away from home. Running, he enters a forest and while running through it, he comes across a boat. He sits on the boat and begins sailing. After some days of sailing in the sea, he reaches an island one night. This island seems strange to Max. While walking on the island, he hears some sort of arguing. He sees a strange seen unfolding before his eyes. The ones arguing are some sort of wild creatures. One of them, Carol, is disrupting the huts and screaming while the other creatures are shouting and yelling at Carol trying to stop his destructive activities. Suddenly Max emerges from among the trees and begins to destroy the huts along with Carol. This angers the other wild creatures and they decide to eat him up. To stop them, Max cooks up a wild tale. He tells them that he is the King of the place from where he comes endowed with special powers and that it would be impossible for them to eat him.

Carol then makes Max the king of all wild creatures on that island. Slowly the wild creatures introduce themselves. Max is shown his kingdom by Carol, who also leads him to a secret hideaway where he finds a miniature island built. Then Max and his wild subjects build a giant fortress.

Slowly, differences begin to crop up between Max and the wild creatures. With time, the wild creatures find out that Max is no king and has no special powers. Max then manages to escape and run, with Carol in pursuit. KW helps him hide and finally after all the adventure, Max decides that it is about time he returned home. But, in the mean time, Carol realises how much he misses Max and how much their friendship meant to him. Finally, Max returns home to a worried and an elated mother.

This movie is based on an adaptation of a book written by Maurice Sandak. This is a classic children’s book and since it is a five minute children’s book, it would have impossible to stretch it to make a two-hour using the story verbatim. So it is no surprise then that there a lot of new turns added to the story. The movie previews and the trailers seem really catchy and exciting.

Perhaps, the best part of the movie is that in spite the complex nature of the story, it is kept simple and its small nuances come across very clearly in their meaning. The story ends with Max trying to better the lives of the wild creatures and end their loneliness. He sees the reflection of his own life in them.

Michael Jackson took the world by storm and his sense of music made pop what it is today. He was a legend and indeed will be immortalized in the hearts of many. This is it is a follow up to the death of one of the most famous entertainers of all time. This is it is a documentary that revolves around the life of Michael Jackson. The movie is being directed by Kenny Ortega, the same person who was responsible for the wonderful memorial services dedicated to the late Michael Jackson. This is it is a compilation of the greatest acts that Michael Jackson was associated with. The movie is more like a complete introduction to the king itself from his very early years to the success that he enjoyed with a lot of fame during the thriller years.

The entire Jackson story can be found in this amazing documentary that is well presented by the director. The movie also covers all the interesting elements culminating into a large subtle plot with the great Jackson performing like you have never seen on stage. The movie is looking absolutely interesting and the coolest parts is the fact that this movie is not something that is pushed into the hands of the consumers for the sake of consumerism, but it’s a DVD that is trying to explain the legend and his life with a lot of unseen video footage. The DVD also features a lot of preparation videos that were shot for during the period of training for Jackson’s final concert which never happened due to his unfortunate demise before the concert started. The best part of the movie is the progression. It is paced out really well and even non Jacko fans are sure to be impressed by the strong narrative that the movie uses for the various scenes in the movie. The best part of the movie is the fact that it uses some footage that has never been seen in the world before by any Jackson fan and the follow up to his London concerts are absolutely stunning. This is it however does have a problem with the production. The movie was slated to release with the completion of the London concerts that Jackson was supposed to complete. However the movie is made without the footage and thus the package is reduced to the fact that they are placing in a lot of unseen footage. Now it’s up to the people to decide if this is what they want to see. Maybe the fact that they are making a great new DVD is a good thing but the director has to be really carful and make sure it is not just a way to spread sales to the production company and gain profits, but actually make people understand what a legend the Late Michael Jackson was. Make sure to catch this movie in theatres.

Sequels and remakes can be of two types. For one, the directors and scriptwriters actually sit down and analyse the plot and make sure to understand the movie and the concept. Once the director understands it he/ she gets down to analysing the movie and deciding what changes have to be made in order to give the audience a nice take on the story without disturbing or swaying away from the original plot. This is the best way to successfully remake classic movies. The other alternative to remaking a classic would be using the same plotlines and taking a shortcut by using the similar concepts and making it into a modern day flick with no real substance. The Stepfather (2009), unfortunately, follows the latter, and does not do any justice to the past Stepfather movies.

Remaking a movie is an art but remaking a movie into something that not only spoils its name but also the name of the franchise preceding it is an example of the lack of effort the filmmakers provided. The movie plot is nice but the style of executing it in 2009 is horrible. The story starts off with Michael Harding (Penn Badgley) who comes home from military school to painfully find that his mother is in love with a man called David Harris (Dylan Walsh). He seems like the perfect father and husband to the house but this is when people begin to realise that he is not quite the man that he is supposed to be. Suspicions arise and thus, the son, along with his girlfriend, tries to get help and set the pieces of the mysterious man together.

The movie as mentioned earlier does have a strong plot but it’s the other things that people have to be worried about. For instance the scenes have been choreographed so pathetically that the entire horror plot is lost whilst making this movie. There is absolutely no strong point in this movie as the movie is made from nothing original. The only saving grace of this movie would be the fact that Dylan Walsh has been good at the role of the Step Father but not on par to the original role played by Terry O Quinn. Also, apart from the actor, the background score is pretty good. It does capture the essence of a horror movie all though the other actors hardly make it look like a horror movie.
Remakes have been immensely successful in the past but also extremely dull. There are directors who want to remake a quality film and make the viewers associate with the remake the same way they did when they watched the movie earlier. Directors have to take note that remakes have to be used in order to relive something that was classic and not just capitalise on the brand and earn big bucks into their pockets.

Directed by – Richard Kelly
Genre- Sci-fi, Horror, thriller

The Box is another well awaited thriller for the year 2009. Surprise entries from movies like Paranormal Activity and Saw 6 also were pretty well received and this added to the spook factor during the Halloween season. Thriller / horror movies are best released at this time as the movie goers can quench their thirst for horror movies in particular. These movies are specific and made with a view to scaring the viewers as an ultimate aim. Some movies fail terribly at doing so, but there are certain movies that fall on the other side of the fence and The Box is one such movie.

Gauging by the previews and special screenings, the movie looks extremely well put out and descriptive with its scare factor. The plot is pretty different and that is what makes the movie so unique. It takes the viewers into the life of Norma and Arthur Lewis who live in a suburban area with a young child. All is going well with the Arthur family, until one day they receive a simple wooden box as a gift. It has been gifted by a stranger and mysteriously enough the box too tends to make the family and their life go all haywire. The box is blessed at first as it has a note which says pressing a certain button, the owner of the box is entitled to a gift of one million dollars but then the curse kicks in and it entitles the owner to a million bucks but at the same time someone loses their life at the cost of this one million dollars. Thus, the Arthur couple has to think hard and make sure that they face their greatest fears and trials as humanly as possible. The movie puts the actors in a life crunching situation and they are given the option of being greedy and killing someone innocent at the same time. So, the dilemma of greed and being modest kicks in and this carries the movie throughout.
Now, coming to the expectations from the actors of this movie, we all know that Cameron Diaz is a pretty good actress but it’s nice to see her finally doing a different kind of role. In various interviews, she has repeatedly mentioned on how scared she was even during the filming of this movie and how she has also vowed to never sign up for a horror movie again. Whether this is a positive or negative thing will be realized soon after the movie is released this November 6th. Lastly, the movie is made by a director who does have a respectable name in the thriller franchise. Richard Kelly was the man behind the amazing Donnie Darko, which is a popular hit amongst thriller movie buffs even today. Let’s hope that with The Box, he hits success once again and makes it big at the box office.

This version, I think, is better than the original series !.

Directed by- J J Abrahams
Genre – Action, adventure and sci-fi
Rated – PG

Star trek is a movie that everyone has been familiar with ever since the launch of the show on television which became an instant hit. The show won the hearts of many people all around the world with its wide range of characters and superb storyline. The entire saga was something that had instilled great emphasis on the story and people would just wait for the show to start and talked about it till it all came to an end. People were made to believe this story as it had deep rooted characters that can be remembered by fans till date. Making its entrance on the giant screen in the year 1966, this show has indeed been milked as a franchise. However, the 2009 version of the new take on Star Trek was a huge success as compared to the original and it revived a name which was losing popularity. The 2009 Star Trek was a huge hit and it filled the hearts of a million fans with hope.

The 2009 Star Trek follows a different theme from the original. This could be a disappointment for some of the fans as they believe in the traditional story of Star Trek where a single lost man is battling out a debate between science and philosophy. This was great back in 1966 but today, in the year 2009, people want something new and fresh. The new version of this movie was made with a great twist and a lot of fast paced action. Giving away the entire plot now would mean to spoil the experience. But in short, all that can be mentioned about the movie is it features, the early days of the famous James T Kirk and his famous USS enterprise crew members and the adventures they had to get to where Star Trek was in 1966. Thus, this is a prequel in timeline but a step forward to the series. It is now 2009 and people are looking at a fresh and innovative change to the series. A lot of cutting edge technology has been used this time around and the main cause for this is the fact that the film makers have this kind of technology to portray in movies. The casting for the new version is brilliant and it has a lot of amazing depth to the original.

Director J J Abraham has outdone himself and taken intense care and precision to make sure to not disappoint fans but to take the series positively in another direction. This is extremely acceptable to the team and it is great that the setting , score and actors have all kept in mind the number of fans that would be disappointed if this project did not go too well. Hoping that the sequel to this will be better, fans sit back and relax and remember this is 2009, and this is still indeed Star Trek.

Starring Meg Ryan !

Genre – Comedy
Director – Cheryl Hines
Cast – Kristen Bell, Meg Ryan, Timothy Hutton
Release date- 4th December 2009

Rated- N/A

Serious Moonlight is a film about Louise (Meg Ryan) who is a good and powerful lawyer who visits her country home for a nice romantic getaway on a weekend. But things don’t work out the way they are supposed to. A major setback for Louise comes in the form of her husband, Ian (Timothy Hutton), whom she has been married to for 13 years, when he tells her of his plans to leave her for another younger woman (Kristen Bell). Louise cannot seem to bear this and goes hysterical in an effort to win back her husband by hook or by crook. She holds Ian captive and demands him to tell her that he loves her and only her and that he will make their marriage work, otherwise he will never be released. But, that is when things begin to take a wrong turn.

Unexpectedly, a young gardener and Ian’s mistress arrive on the scene only to complicate the matters further. These circumstances make Louise and Ian deal with their past and future rationally and realistically.

By going by the movie previews and trailers, the movie does not seem too promising, but its fantastic star cast will hopefully help the movie succeed. Kristen Bell and Justin Long are the highlight of the film. Meg Ryan looks ravishing as usual even at the age of 48, and only someone like Kristen Bell could match up as her alternative.

Serious Moonlight is directed by Cheryl Hines who is making her directorial debut in feature films. Cheryl will be directing Adrienne Shelly’s final screenplay. She wrote this screenplay for Serious Moonlight shortly before she died. She was growing to be a talented filmmaker and was only 40 when she was killed. This screenplay has the same dark comic touch like Waitress, which was Adrienne Shelly’s previous movie which she wrote and directed. Cheryl will be marking her debut with Adrienne’s last piece of work. She had acted previously in Waitress and had done a brilliant job of it. Cheryl and Adrienne got close together and bonded well on the sets of Waitress.

Cheryl says of her, “I feel a great sense of pride to be directing this film. I had such respect for the work she did. And I love her writing so much. The tone is really in my wheel house.” Adrienne’s husband, Andy Ostroy is co producing Serious Moonlight.

It will be released on the 4th of December. If this movie works out and is a hit, it would be the perfect tribute to Adrienne Shelly. Here’s hoping this movie is liked by the audience and turns out to be a hit. With a great casting with the likes of Meg Ryan, Kristen Bell, Timothy Hutton and Justin Long, and Adrienne’s screenplay, there is no reason why the movie should not work.

Genre – Drama; Thriller
Director – F. Gary Gray
Cast – Jamie Foxx, Gerard Butler
Rated- R

Nick Price (Jamie Foxx) is a prosecutor in Philadelphia who has a case in hand to bring justice to Clyde Shelton’s (Gerard Butler) murdered wife and daughter. The story elaborates and brings to notice all the cracks in the American Justice system. Clyde is determined to fight these cracks when he realises that only one among the two accused is served the death sentence and other one was awarded a mere three year sentence. Clyde just can’t bear to see the man who was involved in the killing of his wife and daughter get away that easy.

It is about a decade since Clyde’s family is murdered. Clyde then comes out into the open with a startling confession of butchering the accused. It is highly intriguing to see how one after the other, all those connected to the case start to die. These killings will continue till the American justice system is fixed. In Clyde’s words, “I am going to bring the whole system down on your head. It is going to be biblical.”

All the mayhem, madness and carnage rolled in perfectly together makes it an apt thriller. Even though the happenings can get totally unrealistic and illogical, you get way too engrossed into the plot to concern yourself with all the whys and hows! All you can think of and look forward to is- who will be dying next and how?

Gerard Butler fits the enraged revenge-seeking role of Clyde to the tee. You can feel his intensity and vengeance throughout. Jamie Foxx as the prosecutor does a convincing job and offers what exactly you would expect. Considering the illogical plot, Director F. Gary Gray has managed to weave a fun and a thrilling film. Though the script seems silly, all the drama and thrill makes you want to sit back and ask for more. Especially the ending seems so bizarre, but you are way too excited to let that bother you. In fact, at that point of time you might even like it. It does bring across a serious point regarding the loop holes in the American Justice system.

The audience’s reactions and the movie reviews have been positive, but a section of an audience has regarded it as absurd and completely illogical. It sure is a worth a watch, if you are looking to sit back, eat popcorn and get a thrill and not use too much of your brains to sift sense from nonsense.

In a nut shell, Law Abiding Citizen has a weak script but excellent direction that can completely keep you engaged and make you look forward for more. Wont help if you if you are busy trying to reason out each and every action.

Go ahead and watch it with an open mind. You might just enjoy it too much or wonder how possibly all this can happen in real life!

Genre – Comedy, Romance
Director – Harold Ramis
Cast – Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell, Chris Elliott
Release date- 1993

Rated- PG

Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is a weatherman on a TV channel. One assignment he truly detests is covering the Groundhog Day Celebrations every year in Pennsylvania. This is the fifth consecutive year that he is being forced to take up this Groundhog assignment. He reluctantly goes to Pennsylvania. But this year, something unexpected and bizarre happens, and his whole world is turned upside down. After finishing the task, when he wakes up to leave the next day, to his shock he finds out that it is February 2nd once again. He panics and tries to explain this queer situation to his producer, Rita (Andie MacDowell). But, she and everybody else simply fail to understand. And amazingly, he is the only one who remembers having lived through the same day. This incident repeats again the next day and now he is totally perplexed and thinks he has lost his mind. He desperately tries to escape, but is unable to do so. He even attempts suicide! His mind is in such turmoil, he thinks his life is doomed for eternity. But nothing seems to work. So, now he tries a different approach. He begins performing different lifesaving tasks till he is now a model citizen. He hopes that may be this way, he can get out of this eerie predicament of his. In his endeavour, he begins to learn about people and also himself, all that he had never ever known. He discovers certain unbelievable facts and truths about the people around him. Also, as he learns more about himself, the more shaken he is. There are startling surprises lurking at every corner for him. This complex story is beautifully knitted together by the director, Harold Ramis. The script is intelligently and wonderfully sketched out. Though the same scenes have to be performed over and over again, it is done so, skilfully, with subtle differences. And definitely, it is not an easy task at all. Kudos to that!

The movie has a feel good factor about it, in spite of the dire circumstances. The script is so imaginative and pleasantly weird. It just manages to grab your attention. Though the scenes can tend to get a bit repetitive at times, Murray has deftly managed the task of keeping the scenes alive and fresh.

Groundhog Day exudes freshness, charisma and fun. Quite a crowd pleaser. Bill Murray has been exceptional throughout and has managed to give his best. The movie literally rides on his shoulders.

Groundhog Day is a brilliant and an intelligent movie portraying Phil’s serious predicament with a touch of humour, making the whole situation seem hilarious. Great performances by Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell.

This movie is definitely worth a watch what with all the accolades and appreciation given by the audiences and the movie reviews. Watching this movie is surely a treat. In a nut shell, it is good cinema.

Is it as good as the original. Let's find out !.

Director-Kevin Tancharoen
Genre- musical
Music-Mark Isham
Release Date- September 25th, 2009
Rated- PG

Musical movies have a unique style and setting to it, filled with characters that are impressive or a plot that is extremely twisted and music is used as a catalyst in order to vividly describe the movie. Musicals are interestingly provided that people enjoy music and at the same time a nice bit of filming that blends in completely with the music. Director Kevin Tancheroen made his directional debut in the movie Fame, which was an exact transition of the movie with the same name from the 1980s. The original was a huge success and it had a lot of fans back in the day. The remake well is quite impressive on many parts but it just does not click. Fame is a movie that in a way should have just been left alone.
The plot of the film is pretty bland and something that is not very motivating for the audience to see. It is about a set of students who have been trying out for audition in the New York School of arts. The movie and the setting is not something that is extremely interesting but yet the movie does indeed have a large set of audience who was faithful at watching it. The box office incomes were indeed pretty huge although the movie never clicked too well with the audience.

The movie and its direction are pretty good and the directional debut is really great. Kevin Tanchoran really does a great job of rewriting the original but for some reason musical movies do not seem to be his area of work. Fame is something that has been remade keeping the same excitement and fun the first movie had used. For instance the characters too resemble the ones that were used back in the 1980s and the fact that the director has used the same rooted characters that were seen in the first edition is an impressive move by a first time director. For a debutant the movie is indeed a good effort and a director like Kevin should definitely be looked out for in the future as he can really create a scene quite vividly and in a very descriptive manner. His only downfall is the fact that he failed to use the characters effectively and he should have read the script and realized how weak it was.

Apart from this, Fame is a movie that is quite watchable. It may not be the best but it is an average film with a lot of flaws. People who loved the original are in for a treat as this movie closely relates itself to the characters that came out in the first movie. Since it’s a debut for the director maybe this time he can be forgiven as there are some interesting ideas and concepts in his mind. However, with the next movie he cannot afford to be taking a risk as a lot can be expected from him for it.

Edge of Darkness is all set to be released in the year 2010. The movie, as the writers and directors have put it, can be called as a simple movie with a unique twist. That is how the directors want to term this film, as it may seem to be a clichéd plot but the viewers are sure to get surprised by the end. The plot follows the life of a homicidal detective who is investigating his own daughter’s murder case. He looks out for clues only to find that before his daughter’s death she was an activist who made some intense discoveries about the political system. The movie is sure to satisfy fans with the edge-of-the-seat action and a lot of drama that is quite reminiscent of the TV series with the same name. The original TV series had a wonderful theme and was quite successful back in those days and it is great to see the same directors and producers from that show creating a movie similar in quality to the hit TV series.

The makers have still not given away too much on the plot and how exactly the movie will pace out. However the movie is made with a lot of experienced actors, Mel Gibson being the biggest of the lot, and all of them have quite a lot to prove in this movie. It has been a while since we saw Mel Gibson on the screens and he indeed is the highlight of the movie. On the last few occasions, the audience saw him as a director in highly-acclaimed movies like The Passion of Christ and Apocalypto, which showed his amazing skills in film making. But with Edge of Darkness, Mel has to relaunch himself as a good actor and judging by the snippet previews it is safe to think that it is quite likely to happen. Apart from Mel Gibson, actors like Ray Winston too have made an interesting appearance in the movie, and judging from the previews he too has made a mark that is quite noteworthy. The best part of the movie is the fact that it is directed by Martin Campbell, a director who excels in this genre of movies. His award winning movies like Golden Eye and Casino Royale were not only critically acclaimed but were also extremely successful at the box office. The writers of the movie are also from the same league, having won awards for the movie The Departed, and they completely succeeded at winning the hearts of critics worldwide.

The Edge of Darkness, with its early 2010 January release, is indeed quite promising and definitely something that action thriller fans have to look out for. Make sure to catch this movie when it hits the theaters soon.

Genre– Comedy

Director – Peter Bellingsley

Cast – Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Kristin Davis

Release date- October 2009

Rated- PG

Couples Retreat is about a group of four holiday-seeking couples who travel to a tropical island for a getaway. One of the couples has certain marital issues to solve and they tag their friends along so that while they resolve their issues, the rest can enjoy, and enjoy they do! But the getaway does not work out as planned. The couples indulge in therapy sessions and realise they didn’t have much option. All of a sudden the vacation turns all topsy-turvy. The problems faced by these couples take a humorous turn. Though everything is predictable, it does get a bit hilarious in parts.

Couples Retreat is a Universal Pictures comedy which does not manage to tickle your funny bone all that much. The direction gets sloppy in between. Though you do have a fair amount of fun, you just can’t help feeling that there is something missing and that you could have easily been provoked to laugh much more had the direction been a tad bit better. After all, that was exactly why you came to watch it, right? Vince Vaughn and Faizon Love manage to keep the movie going, but the others disappoint. The trials and ordeals in Bell and Bateman’s relationship and Kristin Davis and Jon Favreau’s squabbles are the highlights of the movie.

Beyond the few occasional laughs and predictable conclusions, this movie is simply too plain and gets boring after a point. Not that simple movies can’t be fun. But the whole humour element in Couples Retreat is grossly missing. There comes a point when you get frustrated just looking for some sort of catalyst for laughter but that is no where to be found. Peter Bellingsley has done a shoddy job of the movie. He could have put the cast and the script to a much better use. All through the movie, you can’t seem to remain oblivious to its many flaws. The direction seems amateurish.

This film had an issue with MPAA regarding its R rating and managed to get the current rating as PG-13. Whether any changes were made and some scenes were cut or added is unknown, but something doesn’t seem right to the eye. The movie reviews and the audience’s reactions have all been unsurprisingly negative.

But in spite of these drawbacks, Vince Vaughn and Faizon Love manage to keep you entertained with their great comic timing and effortless efforts to make you laugh. They are literally the whole and soul of the movie.

Couples Retreat is disappointing. You go expecting much more from this film but end up cursing your decision-making capabilities! If you want to see something and don’t want to put in the efforts of using your brain, then go ahead and give this movie a shot. Wont do you any harm, but wont do you any good either. Watch it totally and completely at your own risk. Watching this movie makes you want to make a getaway to some desolated island!

One of the best known actors in Hollywood !.

We caught up with the enigmatic George Clooney at the London’s Dorchester Hotel looking suave with his trademark greying hair. He is here to attend the London Film Festival where his latest film, The Fantastic Mr. fox, will premiere on the opening night. The Fantastic Mr. Fox is Wes Anderson’s first directorial animation venture in which George Clooney has lent his voice to the lead character.

Unlike other actors, he does not mind his grey locks on display or rather swears by it and carries it off with nonchalant panache. “I am old”, the 48-year-old actor retorts, grinning. He never dons makeup on screen and does not mind aging, and he is quite graceful at that. He muses, “It’s an interesting thing to watch yourself grow older on screen”. He is constantly regarded as Cary Grant of the 21st Century, which seems to amuse him no end. In reply to it he states that is quite funny because most of his male co actors have always worked with actresses who are quite younger compared to them. But early on in his career he worked with actresses who were his age or elder to him. So people assumed that he was older and now they consider him to be about 60 years old.

He has two other films in the pipeline, that are also being screened at the London Festival – one of them is a romantic comedy caper, Up In The Air and the other is a black comedy, The Men Who Stare At Goats.

Up In The Air is written and also directed by Jason Reitman in which Clooney plays a corporate expert travelling all over the country collecting flyer miles, living his life in hotels, rental cars and airports. But, as he gets closer to achieving his target of 10 million miles, he finds to his dismay, that his lifestyle is intimidated by an efficiency expert, much younger to him.

His black comedy, The Men Who Stare At Goats, is an adaptation of a book written by Jon Ronson, a British journalist which is supposedly a true story about a few U.S Military members who believed and attempted to use various supernatural mental stunts like turning invisible, killing goats merely by staring intently at them. This movie is co produced by Clooney along with his pal and partner, Grant Heslov, who has also directed it.

Both these movies seem really interesting and goes without saying, much awaited. He laughs modestly, “Boy. I have got a lot of films here this week….a lot of running around. And all three films are ones I don’t have to be embarrassed about—that’s rare”, he winks.

Currently, he is busy filming for his next film, The American, in Italy. He is again co producing it along with Heslov, and it is being directed by Anton Corbjin. Clooney says of Corbjin, “A lot of the times they don’t know how to tell a complete story, but he is very talented and I am very excited to be working with him and would like to continue working with him in the future…”, he trails off.

Movie news and inside gossip have always played a big role in the film industry. The latest movies, the news, and the rumours keep the fans intrigued, and even when there have been no releases, they know what’s going on in Hollywood.

There have been quite a few movies coming out this year and a few have been impressive. What has been hot on the news is a particular movie called Paranormal Activity. This movie has been getting rave reviews for its simple filming. The makers spent only $16,000 on the movie and it’s now having nation-wide sell outs. It has made around $1 million despite it being a limited release.

Recently, MTV celebrated Halloween early, premiering the movie “My Super Sweet 16” which is due for release in the last week of October.

The director of District 9, Neill Blomkamp, has got the green light to make the next sci-fi movie. The title has not yet been disclosed, and insiders have curbed all speculation that the next movie will be District 10. The movie will be an all out sci-fi one again, and will be set on another planet. Now this one is definitely something to look forward to.

Bruce Willis has been reported to be playing the lead role in the movie ‘Kane and Lynch’ based on the video game with the same name.

The world-wide audience was stunned to see the new trailers and posters that were released portraying the movie “Zombie Land”. This movie is reported to have the possibility of becoming the best Zombie film ever made. It has already garnered about $54 million in box office collections, which is double the production cost of the movie.

Another movie hitting the news is “Where Wild Things Are”, which is a wonderful movie and has been crafted well by the makers. It has a beautiful blend of various technical feats and has amazing performances by the actors. This one will definitely be a high-entertainment watch this season. We suggest you don’t give this a miss.

Martin Scorceses has come out with a new film called ‘Shutter Island’. The trailer of the movie is simple amazing. The film stars Sir Ben Kingsley and Leonardo Dicaprio, who has been a regular feature in the last three of Martin’s Scorceses movies. It is a psychological thriller which is set in an asylum in the 1950’s. This movie promises to offer something unusual and interesting to its viewers, and we suggest you catch it as soon as it comes out.
Michael Bay is all set to come out with Transformers 3. This movie is scheduled to hit the screens in 2011. It was originally going to be released in 2012 but has now been pre-poned despite the makers having a few issues with the lead actress, Megan Fox.

The critically acclaimed film, ‘The Lovely Bones’, which was directed by the famous Peter Jackson, has now been chosen for the Royal Performance 2009. This world premier charity will take place in Leicester Square in November.

Tarantino’s talent at sketching unforgettable characters is seen in all its glory in the historic movie Pulp Fiction.

Hollywood has always been immensely successful due to its widespread ideas and special settings that make each movie extravagant and unique from the rest. Viewers today know what to expect from a movie just by looking at the director who has made the movie. There are artistic directors for each and every genre in Hollywood. If you’re a science fiction fan, then obviously James Cameron will be right on the top of your list. If you’re more of an action movie buff, then Michael Bay has to pretty much be your favorite director what with cars and explosives being randomly thrown about in a nerve-wrecking scene. This is what has made Hollywood special today, and has set the box office soaring sky high. When we talk about the top unique directors of Hollywood, you cannot but help start with Quentin Tarantino.

Quentin Tarantino has been a famous director who has been hitting the Hollywood airways with a string of successful hits. Quentin Tarantino, also called as Q, was extremely successful with his movies right from the start. He made his career debut with Reservoir Dogs that earned him instant success. The talent that he showcased in this movie was purely amazing, and no director had debuted as intensely as Quentin. The writing and the screen play were all choreographed by him in the finest manner. The talent he showcased with Reservoir Dogs sent him right up the charts. Tarantino is known for his comedy-laden violent movie themes. He makes it with a light heart and in this manner he portrays the grimmest of scenes with a mind to keep the viewers relaxed at all times. Even critics were baffled by his quirky humorous styles that he effortlessly weaved in his movies.

The best part about Tarantino is the fact that his movies are marketed well. He makes people want to watch his work. Even if it is a movie that does not have a very strong plot, it is made with an interesting set of characters that people want to see. This is what Tarantino is the master at; he can make even the dullest of plots seem extremely interesting to the viewers. His movies have the best line up of characters, and every character is deep rooted into the plot with a lot of precision. Tarantino’s talent at sketching unforgettable characters is seen in all its glory in the historic movie Pulp Fiction.

The movie is one of the best movies from Hollywood and also the best work of Tarantino yet. The movie was an award winner and it also brought up box office ratings quickly the world over. Lastly, one thing that is special about Quentin is the fact that he hates product placement in movies. Thus, he gives a strict no to endorsements during his movies and fills it up with a set of his own imaginary brands that are used during screening. Tarantino today has become a cult symbol for his movie-making passion and his amazing directorial style.

If Megan stars in a movie, I will go and watch it !!.

Has become a household name today. Voted as the Sexiest Woman of the year in 2008 by the FHM readers, she is at an all time high in her career. From starting off her film career in 2004 with Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen to Jennifer’s Body released in 2009, she has sure come a long way.

Megan Fox was born on 16th May, 1986, in Tennessee, United States to Franklin Foxx and Darlene Tonachio. She has French, Irish and Native American roots. She was five when she began training in drama. Megan took up modelling at the age of 13 after having won awards at various modelling competitions. Megan completed her middle school in a private Christian School and completed her high schooling from St. Lucie West Centennial High School. She claims that she was never a popular kid in school, and that “everyone hated me”. The girls in her school detested her for being too aggressive.

In 2001, at the age of 16, Megan debuted in the film Holiday in the Sun, in which she played a spoilt heiress. In 2002, she played a sole lead in a television series called Ocean Ave. It was only in the year 2004, that she debuted and launched off her film career in Confessions of a Teenage Dram Queen starring alongside Lindsay Lohan. She then acted in a television series Hope & Faith. In 2007, she was cast as a female lead in the action film Transformers. She has been nominated for various awards like the MTV Movie Award for “Breakthrough Performance” and Teen Choice Awards. She was further signed on for two more Transformers sequels. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen released in 2009 on June 24. Her latest movie was Jennifer’s Body, in which she plays Jennifer Check, who is a mean cheerleader possessed by a boy eating demon.

Megan Fox is the current sex symbol with a large male fan following all over the globe. She often appears in Hot, a popular men’s magazine. She has featured on various famous magazine covers like Maxim, Cosmo Girl, FHM, Elle and many more. She was touted as one of the “Future stars of tomorrow”. Moviefones ranked her as the “Hottest actor under 25”, Maxim ranked her second in the list of 100 Hot women and FHM readers voted her as the “Sexiest Woman in the World” in 2008.

Megan Fox draws a lot of comparison to the popular Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie. Media has even dubbed her as the “next Angelina Jolie”. The reasons she stated for these comparisons are their “tattoo collection”, the sex symbol status and that both are brunettes and have starred in action movies. She is famously known for her “large collection” of tattoos that she sports.

With her rising popularity and the sex symbol status, she sure is one of the rising Hollywood stars to watch out for. Or shall we say the “next Angelina Jolie” ?
