One business we all should always be in is the Personal Development Business. Why? Because the law of attraction works through the process of personal development. We attract what we are, not what we want. Therefore, to gain more out of life we must put more into it, by being more ourselves.

Without a personal development program, we may succeed, but in many instances that success is short-lived. We all heard of people who have become mega-rich but lived like the prodigal who squandered all their wealth. Why would they do that? It’s not because of what they had, but what they did not have.

They did not have the character, the mindset and the internal growth which matched the wealth on the outside. Wealth is an inside job. It begins with the way we think. As Earl Nightingale said, “We become what we think about.”

“Solomon wrote, As a man thinks in his heart so is he.” And, James Allen’s classic, As a Man Thinketh” should be required reading for every network marketer or internet marketer. In fact, it ought to be required reading for everyone.

If you have not read it, may I suggest you get a copy at your earliest convenience. If you take heed to it, your personal development will get a tremendous boost. The most important area of building a personal business such as an mlm opportunity or social networking business through the internet is your own development.

Here are 5 simple steps you can take to ensure that you can change what Zig Ziglar calls your “stinkin thinkin” to a postive mental attitude that attracts the success in life you want.

First, decide on the person you want to become. Write out a description of that person and faithfully read it everyday. If you are not going to commit to doing this for the next 90 days, don’t bother. Apparently, you love mediocrity, so don’t waste your time. But, if you want to change for the better do it. If you get off track, start over from the beginning and go another 90 days.

Secondly, stop thinking about what you don’t want and focus on the things that you do. The more time you spend thinking on what you do want means that you automatically stop thinking about what it is that you don’t want.

Thridly, begin immediately to listen to inspirational and motivational audios, read great books and watch good movies and educational videos that feed your mind with positive things.

Finally, Begin to act like the person you want to become. Talk about your life and events as though you have already become that person. The subconscious mind cannot distinguish between truth or fact. It accepts as true whatever you program into it.

More importantly, it goes to work immediately to bring about that which you hold as your dominant beliefs. Why, because you attract what you are. Everything in your life is a result of your beliefs. Your beliefs are a result of your actions.

To help you make your personal transition, we are offering you 10 downloadable ebooks on almost any personal development subject you can imagine. Take you pick.
In order to be successful at any kind of business, especially Network Marketing, you need to be able to answer clearly this question: why should your prospects be attracted to you? Unfortunately, many people fail because they are unable to answer the question.

It may sound funny, but many are not even sure that they would be attracted to themselves. No matter where you find yourself, there is something unique about you and once you discover what it is, you will have the kind of success you have been hoping for.

Why Should Your Prospects Be Attracted to You?

I have found that the easiest way to find out why a prospect should be attracted to you is to go back to your own reasons for getting in business. Why did you join the Network Marketing Company you are affiliated with? There are usually two orientations; you liked the product or you liked the business.

To be truly successful though, you have to be more specific; what did you hope to achieve? What difference did you see yourself making? How did you see yourself making that difference? Finding these answers will not only reignite your motivation, but it will give you clear direction as to whom you want to attract.

Why? Because what you want to achieve is the solution to a problem that you have observed. It could be a problem that you had; it could be a problem that someone else had. In any case, you got into business because you wanted to solve a problem. If you didn’t, then you need to get out.

Businesses exist to solve specific problems, and to succeed, you need to indentify clearly what problem you want to solve and how you can solve it. The more passionate you are about solving that problem, the more success you will achieve because people follow those who can solve their problems.

The mistake that many marketers make is to try to sell their product. Unfortunately, that leads to great frustrations because your prospects are forever avoiding to be sold. However, they are also doing something else constantly; looking for solutions to their problems.

Your prospects will be attracted to you when you are clear about which problems you solve, who have that problem, and communicate it to them relentlessly. As long as you offer the solution to their problems, they will always follow you.

Do you believe the shortest road to a goal is a straight line? If you do, did you know that on its way to the moon, the Apollo is off course 97% of the time? And yet it gets there. “Why? Because of continuous course correction,” Says Jeff Olson, author of the Slight Edge.

And as he continues, that means for you and I, to match the degree of accuracy of the Apollo is to be on course only 10 days of the entire year. I don’t know about you but it drives me crazy. You see, I like to know, feel in control, and be on track, all the time.

Yes I love having control over my life, and all entrepreneurs do. The one common characteristic to all entrepreneurs is a great need for control. That’s because we know that we have to create our own life, our own destiny and that if it’s going to be, it’s up to us.

Do You Believe The Shortest Road to a Goal is a Straight Line?

So we craft a vision, devise a strategy to turn it into goals, and come up with tactical plans to implement the strategy. Then we get off track. We get back on track and try a bit harder, just to fall off track again. Finally we seek advice and learn that we will be off track less than one day per month.

Yes sometimes, I feel like screaming. So I have learned to live with it; I get off track faster than it takes me to write this post. But in the process I have also learned something more valuable; the frustration I get for being off track is a powerful force to get me back on track and moving toward my goal.

No, the shortest road to your goal is not a straight line. But if you learn to correct your course, you will get there. Correcting your course is the slight edge that will take you where you are going. How do you do that?

You do every single day something towards your goal, no matter how you feel, no matter how off track you are. What you do is not as important as the fact that you do something. And if you really have no strength, then do this; express your lack of strength in a way that contributes to your goal.

No, I don’t always feel like writing, but then I write about how I don’t feel like writing and why. And when I do, I know I have engaged in course correction. I will back on track, just in time to get off again. And that is alright, because sooner than I expect, I will reach my goal. Just don’t ask me to draw the line.

If you have been in business for a while, then you know that at times the going gets though. What keeps you going? When you feel discouraged and unable to move another step? Yet you know you cannot stop for if you do you will be trampled down.

What keeps you going? When your heart has been broken one more time and you tell yourself everyone is right; you are probably just a dreamer who takes his wishes for reality. What makes you take that one more step and then the next?

Success is not easy, the road is bumpy. It’s amazing how dark it feels sometimes in the middle of a perfect summer day. It’s incredible how lonely it is even when surrounded by all our loved ones. The success road is a long and difficult one.

What Keeps You Going?

Yet you ask yourself; what else is there? What keeps you going? I don’t about you but for me, there is no alternative. Success is not a goal, it is the way I live my life. Success is not a dream it is how I define myself.

What else is there but to be successful? I know, many settle and give up because they believe it is easier that way. Yes being successful is not easy. But I also know why I have never considered giving up.

It is a lot easier to be successful than it is to fail. Once you have given up, you have all the rest of your life to live a life that you call mediocre. You see, once you embarked on the journey to become a better person, you agreed that it was unacceptable to live otherwise.

To give up without achieving that standard mean you will have to justify to yourself every single day of the rest of your life why it is acceptable to live a life less than what you can and deserve. You will have to explain to yourself for the rest of your life why it is ok to be a failure.

And that is very hard. So hard that no matter how hard it seems today to take another step into this dark and lonely world toward success, I will do it anyway. And I hope you to take it with me. For the road less travel if you and I the only road to travel.

To get more encouragement toward your journey, download a free audio.

You are working your Network Marketing business. You are handling paper work, checking your back office, visualizing. You have a calculator in hand and everyday you go through the compensation plan to see how much you could make.

You show up at every meeting and you are on all conference calls. You talk tonew distributors to find out how and why they joined. You are looking for ideas and reading a lot. You are visiting numerous websites online and downloading several audios and e-books to learn.

You are doing a lot of good things, but are you doing the right thing? To be successful it is not enough to be doing things; you must make sure that the actions you are taking will give you the results you seek.

Most people in Network marketing are engaged in many things. They are forever planning the plan. They generate many ideas everyday on how to take their business to the next level. They usually come up with great ideas, but seldom execute those ideas.

Are You Doing The Right Thing?

Is what you are doing right now the right thing to do to take your business to that next level? The 80/20 rule states that 80% of your results will come from 20% of your activities. They are only few things that you need to do everyday to ensure success.

Meet new people and get their contact information

Find a way to be relevant to their life so that you can build a relationship with them

Learn more about their needs to see if your opportunity can serve that need

Introduce them to what you do and how you do it

Unless you are busy performing these few tasks, you are not building your business. It is easy to be busy doing the wrong things. “There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all,” says Peter Drucker. Make sure what you are doing is the right thing to do.

Blogging is the new trend and if you don’t have a blog yet, you are missing out. More than ever, network marketing is about relationship marketing. Blogging gives you the best opportunity to build those relationships with people all over the world.

As we discussed in How Can You Use Blogging For Network Marketing, you need a topic that’s valuable and relevant to your audience. Blogging is about providing information that readers consider worth their time and attention. Unless you can hold their interest, they will not stick around.

So, what can you blog about for network marketing? First identify who you want to attract. The best place to start is with your network marketing vision. Certainly you want to build a large organization, but what sets you apart?

What will be the values of that organization? Who are the people most likely to succeed when doing business with you? Look at what you are doing now and who you work best with. Do you want to attract people in your current profession?

What about the particular reason you joined? Did you have a traumatic situation that caused you to open a Network Marketing business? If so there might be others out there who can relate to you and share their experiences with you. Your background, your passions, your hobbies are best place to look for a target audience.

Once you have determined your target audience and what link you to them, it will be easy to find the topic you can share with them. For example, if you are an insurance sales agent, you can talk about the challenges of the profession to attract other sales agent. Or you can talk about insurance needs for couples to attract stay at home parents.

Before you start blogging, be clear on how you will tie your audience needs to your Network marketing opportunity. For example, stay at home parents might need an extra income to afford those insurance needs you have helped them identify. Or maybe building residual income can be a great complement to the limitations of some insurance policies.

Your goal is to build a relationship with your audience to the point where they will trust you and do or refer business to you. To be relevant your topic must be timely. To be valuable, it must address a specific need. To be profitable, it needs to tie into your business. Planning might take some time, but in the long run, it will save you more time.

Chances are you have read many blogs, and you know that you can blog about anything. You have even heard and saw how many people use their blogs for their business. So, how can you use blogging for Network Marketing?

First, let’s look at why people blog. Although blogging can be for anything, the goal, if you want to be successful, is always to provide valuable and relevant information to a targeted audience. The value and the relevancy of your blog depends on your audience.

How Can You Use Blogging For Network Marketing?

The first rule to using blogging for Network marketing is being clear about who you are targeting. What do you want to accomplish and for whom are you looking to become part of your team? Are you looking for sales professionals in a particular industry; for people in a certain geographical area, or within a certain demographic?

Once you are clear about your audience, decide on which one of their needs you want to serve. Ultimately, will partnering with you in your business help them solve those needs? This question is important because your end goal is to partner with them in your Network marketing business.

Spending the necessary time to be clear about your target audience and their needs is very important. Because blogging requires a great deal of writing, you will need a large source of information to serve those needs. You don’t want to be unclear about what you are trying to solve at the same you are looking for ways to solve it.

Finally, market your blog. Marketing is exposing your blog to as many people as possible. In future posts, we will explore in details how you can market your blog. Some of those marketing techniques are using YouTube Videos, Social Sites such as Facebook, and article directories.

Once you begin your blog, you will be busy, so it is essential you plan before getting started. The last thing you want to do is find yourself moving in the wrong direction. As people visit your blog, you will build a relationship with them by serving their needs. When the time is appropriate, you will introduce them to your business.

It takes time, but ultimately, the relationship you have with your audience can be a strong foundation to building a successful Network Marketing organization. For more tips on how to be a successful network marketer, download a free audio.

Do you even know what you sound like? Have you heard yourself lately? Do you know what you say and how it comes across to others? Are you aware of your good and bad speaking habits?

Most of us will not leave the house without visually checking ourselves in the mirror. It does not matter how many times we have worn an outfit, and even though we have not changed the way we brush our hair, or apply our makeup in years, we will still double check ourselves in the mirror.

Have You Heard Yourself Lately?

Yet most of us go out with our mouth unchecked. I am not talking about brushing out teeth. I am talking about the words that we’ll wear. We are used to speaking in certain ways. We have also picked up along the way speech habits; some good, others not so good.

The problem is that we are not aware of them. We believe what we hear is what we say, or worse what other people hear. There could be some words and speech patterns that you use without realizing that hey are very costly to you. Since there is no mirror to check your words, how do you do?

• Record yourself in many different settings such as at work, at home, among friends, and listen to hear how you talk to different people.
• Call yourself and live voice messages. Call people to whom you have left voice messages and ask them if you can listen to hear how you come across.
• Try new way of speaking in a non threatening environment and record yourself so that you can compare different styles.
• When listening to your recordings, pay attention to the exchange with other people’s voices to hear how they react as you speak.

If you have never heard yourself, you will be very surprised by how you sound and how you come across. You also be surprised to realize that some people don’t like certain things you say or the way you say them by noticing for the first time the changes in their voices.

Do not feel discouraged; knowing where you are is essential to getting where you want to go. This exercise is simply to gather feedback so that you can improve. Remove yourself emotionally from the experience, learn from it and become the best you can.

Have you been trying to manage your time? Chances are, you have been failing. You have probably read many books and participated in many programs, yet time still seems to fly by you. You can’t get things done on time.

Time management is a myth because it forces you to focus on something you have no control over. The Oxford dictionary defines manage as “be in charge of, supervise, administer and regulate.” There are twenty four hours in your day and there is nothing you can do about that. You cannot manage time; it comes and it goes, no matter what you do.

Have You Been Trying to Manage Your Time?

If you are struggling to get things done, what you should be focusing on is your energy and your activities. If you can’t get things done on time it is because you are putting your energy in the wrong activities. Fortunately, this is something you have total control over.

By following these simple steps, you can get back control of your life and be free to enjoy your time.

• Get clear on your priorities; what’s important to you is important to you. If you are always rushing at the end of the day chances are you are neglecting your priorities.
• Allocate their spot in your day in such a way that they receive the best part of your energy. You don’t want to do what’s most important when you have no energy left.
• Get rid of things that don’t matter; they don’t matter, not to you. Let the people to whom they matter deal with them.
• Learn to say YES to what you really want so that you can say NO to everything else. Every NO begins with a YES. Find out what you want to say YES to.

Although you cannot manage time, you can build the habit of doing first thing first and refuse to put your energy into those activities that do not matter. Before long you will feel as if you more time in your days. The key is to learn to manage your energy and where you put it.
