review culture in Australia.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The session entitled 'Feeding the Hand that Bites: The Demise of
Australian Literary Reviewing' featured (above, from left) &lt;em&gt;Kill
Your Darlings&lt;/em&gt;'s editor Rebecca Starford, &lt;em&gt;The Big
Issue&lt;/em&gt; book editor Jo Case, Australian commentator Gideon Haigh
and film reviewer for &lt;em&gt;Empire&lt;/em&gt; magazine Anthony Morris.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The panel discussion centred on Gideon's essay in the the first
issue of &lt;em&gt;Kill Your Darlings&lt;/em&gt;, which criticised reviewing in
broadsheet newspapers.&lt;/p&gt;
