Iranian missile launch video and UFO

I saw this news in Yahoo!

As given in Yahoo! news, a UFO or fast moving flying object may be responsible for splitting the cloud into two. At very first look at the video this looks true also.

However if you look the video carefully enough, you will understand that, this effect is actually caused by the shadow of the hot exhaust gases from the missile.

As missile is travelling above the clouds at this point, the shadow casted by the hot missile smoke gases will fall upon the top of the clouds, since the cloud is translucent, the same shadow will also be visible below the clouds...

So actually the cloud is not split in two, the line seen traversing the cloud is actually just a shadow of the exhaust plume.

My Experience: Filing Income Tax return for year 2009

Today I filed my income tax return. It was much more simple and painless job than I originally thought it would be.

I downloaded the ITR-1 and acknowledgement form Income Tax department e-filing website. Printed it and filled it with the help of online tax helper such as TaxSmile.

TaxSmile told me that, I have some pending amount to pay as self assessment tax. Paying this was also pretty painless. I went to e-Payment section of Tax Information Network website and paid this tax instantly using my SBI online account.

The only place where I had difficulty in filling my ITR-1 form was with the section, where I had to fill the designation of the assesing officer. I searched many websites to know what to fill here. Finally I found the required information in Karnatata State Income Tax website.

After filling my ITR-1, I went to palace ground where Income Tax Department has set up 90 special counters just for IT returns. Believe it or not, it took me just few seconds over there to submit my IT returns and come back with the acknowledgement. I just had to go to the respective tax assessing officers counter to get it done.

I was expecting a huge crowd over there, as I went on Sunday. but I was so wrong! At-last Income Tax department has done some thing right this year.

So, overall my experience with Income Tax return this year was pretty painless. I didn't go to any middle person or agent, did everything my self, without any hurdle or pain. And more importantly without spending any extra money at all!

This is the way to go forward for Income Tax department.

Update:

One of my blog reader named Suresh Meenakshisundaram had asked me a question about the documents which we need carry while filing our Income Tax return at the counter. You just need to carry your ITR-1 form along with the acknowledgement form. No other documents or Form-16 is necessary. Don't forget to double check the written details. Especially the PAN.

Mansoon rain has just hit Bangalore.. I guess BBMP wakes up only after water start pouring heavily.. (some people have doubt on this also!)

Anyway, Here are photos of yesterdays rain in Bangalore..

I started from my office at 6.15 PM just to reach my home at 9.15 PM. During normal days, I would reach home by 7.50 PM.

These photos are taken at Bannerghatta road, where you can do boating with just half an hour of rain.

I saw many two wheeler people with their engine filled with water. I guess these people by-mistake switched their engine off, while driving in water filled roads.

TIP: When your vehicle is inside the water, don't switch off your engine! Otherwise water will go inside the engine through exhaust pipe, and you'll never be able to switch it on again!

Now that elections are nearing by, I have a humble request with all you people. Think twice before you vote.

Don't forget that, India and World is facing a worst financial crisis ever and India desperately needs a strong government this time.

We need a government which can fight against terrorism, we need a government which can take tough decision during tough time.

Do you think a alliance government with hundreds of sub parties can do this ? Do you think that Left parties and Third party alliance can give us a strong government ? I still don't understand what these third party people see out of bahan Mayavathi. i.e.; at-least tell me what great qualification she has to make her a prime minister candidate ?

Whichever alliance government it is, it is of no good to India. I strongly believe that, whichever party it is, a single party majority government is what India needs now actually..

So, I think its better to select any party which has nationwide existence. That leaves us with only Congress and BJP.

So, you have only two choices, Congress or BJP. Which one will you select ? That is up to you..

Think twice and vote.

I am gonna learn how to fly Boeing 737-400

I very excited about tomorrow. From tomorrow onward I would be attending training classes to learn about flying Boeing 737-400.

This training would teach me how to do takeoff, landing (day and night) and communication during the flight path for Boeing 737 jet.

However, the most challenging and exciting part of this training is on the fifth day, where I need to fly the Boeing 737-400 from Bangalore to New Delhi on my own.

Now, If you are surprised about this, then don't worry. They are not gonna allow me to fly a real Boeing 737 in just five days. Actually I am gonna do this in a Boeing 737 flight simulator. However, this is a state of the art simulator, and includes both hardware and software from Boeing 737-400 aircraft.

Yeah, I know, these cockpit photos looks scary, but I guess I can cope with them.

Airtel: Subscribe to e-bill, and forget about it!

I guess, this is the new slogan of Airtel. I say this because, I subscribed for email statements for my 2 postpaid mobiles. I still haven't received my Feb months e-bill for both of them!

When I complained about this, They took around 10 days for investigation and today a sent a SMS saying that, they can not send my e-bill statements, as they don't have any with them!

They have charged me around Rs. 400/- for Feb month, whereas my monthly rental is just Rs. 250/- and there is no way I can know now where the hell they charged the rest of the amount!

On top of that, they haven't changed the due date!

What f****ing looser company ?

I guess, competition is good, soon we'll have many player for GSM in Karnataka. That time, I will show middle fingure to Airtel and switch to some other operator.

Till that, I guess I have to bear with f****ing Airtel people.

Update:

As one of my colleague suggested, I wrote a mail to Airtel nodal officer for Karnataka region and Voila! within next 24 Hrs I received email bill from Airtel. wow, I never thought this would work.

Come on, When Airtel customer care people couldn't send bill even after taking around 3 weeks, nodal officer took less than 24 Hrs to send the same. SWEET.

Looks like TRAI rules are showing its power or its just because competition is heating up..

You can get Airtel nodal officer's email address from Airtel website. To get the nodal officer contact details, Select "Customer Support" and select your region.

I have again moved my blog! This time I have moved it from wordpress @ shared web hosting, back to blogger.

The main reason behind this move is the amount of energy required to run the blog on a shared hosting. Actually I am kind of busy person and I felt like, My blog maintenance is taking much of my time, compared to the time I took for writing something useful.

So I am back to blogger and I am feeling much more happier than I was with shared hosting. Blogger with the custom domain looks great to me.

I hope that, at least with blogger I will post something useful.
