Want something fun to do this holiday season that also helps out a good cause? Then come to The Knitting Factory’s “KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF” Holiday Event. This coming Tuesday December 20th from 8-11pm is when it all happens. There will be solo musical artists, comedians, and choral groups performing all with a bit of a twist from the normal carolling. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Children’s Aid Society. Entry is $7. You can catch the rare occasion of me carolling. I’ll be singing “Blue Christmas” as a solo. This past weekend I was recording at Let Em In Music Studios, working on my full length CD. We did 3 out of the 10 planned songs for the CD. I was joined on bass by Benjy Fox-Rosen, on guitar and ukelele by Eric J. Stockton, Lee Free on drums, and Megan Palmer on violin. Here are some quick pix. I’m in the process of recording a full-length CD. I’ve started recording some of the tracks out of a home studio, but will be going into an outside studio to do 3 of the songs for the CD in September. I’ll be working at Let Em in Music Studios in Brooklyn. Stay tuned for updates.

We won the Brooklyn Anthem Bash!

Yay! My song “Please Come to Brooklyn” and performance last night won the Brooklyn Anthem Bash! Thanks to everyone who made it happen! Your support in the online voting, your cheers and dancing at the show, and your well wishes sent my way were just amazing! Couldn’t have done it without you! Eric J. Stockton, a super talented guitarist, joined me on guitar last night and we had a blast!

Bait and Tackle in Red Hook Sunday April 3rd

This Sunday April 3rd at 9pm, I’ll be playing at Bait and Tackle, which is located in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn. Tim Pourbaix plays at 8pm and Dev w/Megan Palmer plays right after me at 10pm. Bait and Tackle is located at the corner of 320 Van Brunt and Pioneer Street. No Cover. Great music. Great neighborhood where you can see the best view of the Statue of Liberty from Brooklyn. What reason do you not have to come hang out and listen? See you there.

Austin South by Southwest 2011 Update

This past week I headed down to Austin, Texas for the 25th Annual South By Southwest Music Festival. I played and hosted an afternoon showcase at the 11th Annual “Invasion of the GoGirls” stage at Austin Java’s. The whole weekend was amazing. I had a great time playing, acquired some new fans, and heard a tremendous amount of fabulous music. I also ate some fab southern food. I’m already working on going back next year. Here are some pix of my show, some other bands I really liked, and of course my most favorite meal while there…..a fried yellow cake doughnut doused with maple syrup and covered with bacon and vanilla ice cream from Gourdough’s. Yes, that’s really what it was!

Hosting & Playing “Invasion of The GoGirls” During SXSW in Austin

This week is the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas. I’ll be heading down for a few days to play a little music, soak up the sun, eat some good food and hear some great musical artists. If you are in Austin this week, stop by Austin Java which is located at 1206 Parkway (@12th/Lamar) for one of the GoGirls Showcases during SXSW. I’ll be hosting and playing their Friday March 18th showcase from 12-5pm. On the bill is Allisong Smith, Danika Holmes, Mieka Pauley, Charlie Dane, Hana Pestle, Emily Zuzik, Sue Quigley, Rachael Sage, and Left on Red.

Go Girls is also hosting 3 other showcases on March 18th and 19th. Check out the schedule right here.

Thanks to everyone who came out to hear me play at The Knitting Factory this past Tuesday night. Thanks also to those who watched it live from the comfort of home via LiveStream. You can still check it out on the LiveStream site. It was absolutely one of the best shows I’ve ever played! You helped me sell about 40 tickets to the event! Thanks for getting out and braving the snow and ice storm! The other artists on the bill were incredible and WOW, what a great audience! This is the best kind of show for a songwriter where everyone is really listening AND singing along.
