Mandy is a longtime community organizer who was in Guelph for the years before her early-morning arrest on June 26, 2010 for her participation in Toronto G20 protest organizing and her involvement with the Southern Ontario Anarchist Resistance (SOAR).

Mandy is serving a 15-month sentence (minus time served) after pleading guilty with 5 of her co-defendants to "council mischeif," a far cry from the conspiracy charges that she and 19 others were originally charged with by the Ontario Crown prosecutor's office, and Crown prosecutor Jason "beans" Miller.
