It’s Pride season, which means it’s the perfect time to talk about everyone’s favorite subject: p*nis health.

Most of the time, the workings of the shlong seem fairly straightforward, but according to one urologist, it’s anything but. For instance: did you know you can actually break your thing from going at it too hard? And that being a SoulCycle junkie could be hurting your ability to get as hard as you might want to? It’s all real, and weirdly fascinating—at least, the way Dr. Joshua Gonzalez tells it.

The urologist and sexual health expert is putting his skills to good use on TikTok, and this is exactly the season we need those tips the most. Dr. Josh is here to answer your burning questions (hopefully not literally burning) about safe bottoming practices, getting a better erection, and how to be a shower, not a grower. He can even answer the most mystical question of all: does my d*ck look normal? (Spoiler: yes, probably.)

Gonzalez’s page is a treasure trove of shlong-related science, so let’s start with some of the most interesting avenues of study, starting off with bottom fever. As in: can you get a fever just from bottoming? According to the doctor, yes, and apparently it’s quite common. If you’ve just had particularly rough or intense sex, you could experience flu-like symptoms that might make you feel like you’re coming down with something. In most cases, however, it’s just your anal lining telling your body that it’s recovering and needs a minute.

Here’s another hot tip from Dr. Josh: if you’re not happy with the quality of your boners, you might want to ease up on the intense bike riding action. Apparently, a bike seat can press a little too hard on the nerve that’s responsible for popping your junk, so don’t feel bad about skipping SoulCycle for a few days… or weeks!

Now on to the more niche content, i.e. figging. Apparently some people are having a lot of fun by using a peeled ginger root as a b*tt plug. Because of the tingly sensation caused by the ginger, it can add a bit of spice (literally) to your pleasure. However, listen to Dr. Josh when he tells you to be quite careful with this activity: if you have a tear or fissure in there, the gentle burning sensation could end up becoming quite painful, so definitely don’t fool around until you’re safely healed. But serious points for creativity!

Dr. Josh isn’t just here to give you the science behind your pleasure—he’s interested in everyone having better, longer, healthier sex. That process begins by coming out to your doctor. “Studies show,” he explains on a recent video, “people who are open with their primary care provider are more likely to get appropriate care,” including preventative medications and important screenings. So if you haven’t come out to your doctor yet, make it a priority this Pride month! Unless you don’t feel safe or comfortable doing that, of course, in which case it might be time to change doctors and find someone who can treat you openly and properly.

With videos about measuring your piece correctly, the beauty of PrEP, and the correct way to do kegels, honestly, this guy is a treasure trove. And if you’re wondering whether Dr. Josh knows about the revolutionary new douching alternative we covered earlier this year, don’t worry, he’s on it.

If there’s a gay health question or a hack for having better, safer sex, this guy is aware of it, and he’s ready to share his knowledge with the world. Now that’s what we call community service. Take Dr. Josh’s expertise this Pride month and run with it! Just remember not to fig too hard.

Why trek into the doctor’s office when you can receive a house call?

The comedian Drew Lausch relayed a story about his recent hookup with a doctor (OK brag) and what the experience taught him about his health. He obtained a specific diagnosis, and didn’t even have to send a check to Quest Diagnostics.

Allow the doctor to explain…

“Once we got done he walked to the kitchen and filled up a glass of water and brought it back to me and was like, ‘Here!,'” Lausch says. “I was like, ‘Thank you, you’re such a gentleman.'”

Without missing a beat, the doctor revealed there was a medical motive behind his act of kindness.

“He told me that after he got a look at my swimmers, he realized I was that I was severely dehydrated,” Lausch continues.

Without delving too deeply into Drew’s symptoms, it’s worth mentioning that yes, our sperm tells us a lot about our health! Its thickness and volume can signify hormonal issues, while its taste can indicate whether we’re eating nutritious food or processed junk.

But perhaps most of all, the quality of semen can be indicative of hydration, says Dr. Joshua Gonzalez, an LA-based urologist who’s the co-founder of a sexual wellness brand.

“Low semen volume can sometimes portend poor hydration status,” he told Queerty in a previous interview. “Semen is a marker of hydration status.”

Since semen is primarily composed of water, a body that’s lacking in fluids can cause the magical liquid to be thick and clumpy. “When the body does not have enough water, it will start to conserve it by reducing the amount excreted in sweat, urine, and other bodily fluids, including semen,” says the Male Fertility Clinic in London.

“As a result, the semen becomes thicker and more viscous than usual.”

Now, “vicious semen” could be a positive descriptor, depending on one’s objectives. But “viscous” semen??

No thank you!

Still, Drew feels lucky he was provided with a free consultation. Those co-pays can add up!

“But you know what? With healthcare these days, I mean… OK. I’ll just see him every now and again, and I’ll know what’s wrong with me,” he says. “Or how I can improve my health. It’s Medicaid for Gays.”

Brilliant!

On a similar note, the quality and frequency of our erections can also be a sign of our health. “Erectile function is a function of your cardiovascular system,” Gonzalez said.

While erectile dysfunction is a common occurrence among adult men of all ages, the problem can foretell heart issues.

“You’re much likelier as a man to present with ED years before you would present with a heart attack or a stroke,” Gonzalez added.

Given that information, it sounds like we need to visit the doctor hookup a lot more often. Luckily, laughter is the best medicine, and Drew provides plenty of that!

The arrival of Pride Month has seen an old tweet from George Michael go viral all over again.

The British singer passed away on Christmas Day 2016. Although he was in the closet for the early part of his career, he was outed in 1997 after an undercover cop arrested him for engaging in a “lewd act” in a public toilet in Los Angeles. Police were conducting a sting operation targeting gay men cruising for public sex.

Afterward, Michael made up for those years of hiding by being unrepentantly himself. His first music video post-arrest, for the song “Outside”, featured him dressed as a cop, dancing in a public restroom with mirror ball urinals.

Michael went on to make no secret of the fact that he liked to go cruising near his north London home on Hampstead Heath. In 2006, when a News of the World photographer tracked him down on the Heath, Michael famously asked the snapper, “Are you gay? No? Then f** off! This is my culture!”

In 2011, Michael tweeted, “I HAVE NEVER AND WILL NEVER APOLOGISE FOR MY SEX LIFE ! GAY SEX IS NATURAL, GAY SEX IS GOOD! NOT EVERYBODY DOES IT, BUT…..HA HA!”

The tweet has received renewed interest with the return of Pride Month 2026. The fact that it’s almost ten years since he left us prompted many to comment on how much he is missed.

Tonight the Music Seems So Loud

One person who knows more than most about Michael is writer Sathnam Sanghera. His book, Tonight the Music Seems So Loud: The Meaning of George Michael, has just been published. The Guardian gave it a glowing review last week, calling it a “heartbreaking portrait” of the troubled, late star.

Sanghera told Queerty he was unsurprised to see Michael’s tweet resurfacing.

“I think this tweet continues to resonate with people because it captures George Michael’s incredible journey with his sexuality: he is quoting his own lyrics, from ‘I Want Your Sex’, written about a man, but featuring a woman who purported to be his girlfriend, in the video. The homophobia of the time forced him into this awkward position, but he was able to take on the hostility and liberate himself… to become truly open and proud of his sexuality, within a decade. The bold way he did so continues to inspire millions of people today.”

And, because of that, 30 can feel daunting, it feel scary, it can feel… old. (Though, let’s be real, we all know we get hotter in our thirties anyway!)

All of those feeling fuel Playing Around, a Spanish-language queer comedy import from Colombia that explores what it means for the current generation of gays—one raised on the internet at a time of greater freedoms & visibility—to approach the threshold of their thirties.

The 10-episode web series comes from creator James Camargo De Alba, who also stars as Germán Andrés Yanez, an aimless 29-year-old whose very name is an acronym for G.A.Y.

Despite that, he know he hasn’t really been living his gay life to the fullest. For one, he’s only just worked up the courage to come out to his mom, who wants to be supportive, but can’t help but wonder: “How can you be so sure if you’ve never been with a man?,” she wonders.

Oh, if she only knew…

See, being with men has never been an issue for Germán—it’s staying with them that’s his problem. As he puts it, he’s never experienced “romantic love,” or kept a stable partner.

Is that so wrong? Well, his mom thinks so. And with his 30th birthday just six months away, he’s starting to feel like he needs to find someone to settle down with before it’s too late.

And so begins a journey to find the perfect partner, which to him feels more difficult than ever, even though there’s a plethora of options.

Take, for example, the romantic Ramón who seems ready to commit—and swears his girlfriend doesn’t mind! Then there’s the couple who want to make him their third, with very specific ideas of what polyamory looks like. And that’s to say nothing of the tons of other ghosters, kinksters, and oddballs Germán encounters on his quest for love.

Taking a page from other coming-of-age classics like Malcolm In The Middle and Clarissa Explains It All, Playing Around is all told from Germán’s unique point of view, narrating direct to camera to let the audience in on his true feelings, even when he’s too nervous to share them with others.

And in that sense, we become confidants in every date, every bedroom encounter, witnessing Germán’s contradictions, deepest desires, and vulnerabilities.

“Playing Around was born from a close observation of modern gay relationships and the ways digital life has reshaped how we connect, desire, and commit,” Camargo De Alba shares in a press statement. “[Germán’s] journey reflects a generation facing challenges very different from those of previous ones, redefining success, intimacy, and adulthood on its own terms.”

Though the series initially premiered in its native Colombia back in 2024, the series will finally debut in the U.S., fittingly, on June 30—there’s that number again!—courtesy of Cinephobia Releasing. All 10 episodes will be available for digital rental or purchase via Amazon Prime, Apple TV, YouTube, Tubi, and Pluto.

“You probably know my heart.”

That was the infamous phrase with which Kristin Chenoweth tanked her career last year. Her response to Charlie Kirk’s death was the first thing that pissed off her gay fanbase, but following it up with a non-apology that put the onus on fans to forgive Chenoweth by “knowing her heart” was the final nail in the coffin.

Because for a long time, we really didn’t know her heart. A vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights in the critical moment of the early 2000s, Chenoweth hadn’t said much in support of gay rights since that time. That was the problem.

It was also the problem later that year, when Debra Messing, another early LGBTQ+ ally and one-time proponent of tolerance and acceptance, decided to show her true colors by posting almost 100 bigoted memes directed at Zohran Mamdani, calling him a “communist jihadist” and “Osama bin Mamdani,” among other things.

Too often, we love celebrities with our whole hearts without knowing exactly what’s in theirs.

Over the weekend, breakout Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams faced backlash after a high school photo of him resurfaced. The unsettling photo shows Williams standing between two girls, his face and body covered with what appear to be Sharpie markings. Regretfully, one of those markings is a swastika on his forehead.

Responding to TMZ, Williams’s friends from that time explained that the actor didn’t know what was being drawn on him, and had no sense of what the symbol meant at the time.

“The offensive symbol was the result of other intoxicated teens scribbling inappropriate images on one another in an attempt to get laughs and shock reactions,” TMZ reported, with one of Williams’ friends from the time stating that: “the markings do not and have never reflected Hudson’s beliefs, values, or character.”

In light of the Graham Platner Nazi tattoo controversy, the optics aren’t great. But considering how quickly everyone forgave Platner—who, unlike Williams, was an adult when he got the symbol permanently tattooed on his body—it would be pretty hypocritical to hold Williams’ feet to the fire over harm he clearly didn’t intend to cause.

Not to mention the fact that Platner is running for U.S. Senate, where he’ll be in a position to make serious political change. Williams, on the other hand, is an actor whose past history doesn’t pose a direct threat to, well, anyone.

In the comments, people are already passionately standing up for Williams.

“If only we put the same effort into exposing the political and economic leaders who are reducing the world to rubble,” one commenter wrote.

Someone else replied: “I simply could not give less of a sh*t right now,” while another simply said: “yall have never been around high schoolers that draw d*cks & swastikas on everything & it shows.”

Why are fans leaping to Williams’ defense? Simple: because we actually know what’s in his heart.

We’re not about to excoriate Williams for this because we do know he’s grown and changed. It’s in his current actions and words, and the way he’s used his newfound fame to advance causes he cares about and speak out about Asian representation, about treating autistic characters onscreen with care and nuance, and about his historic role in bringing a sex-positive queer story to life.

We know that Williams, along with his co-star Connor Storrie, struggled for years to make it as an actor, and finally landed the big break he dreamed about with Heated Rivalry. Do we know who he was or what he was like in high school? No. But we don’t need to. We know who he is now, and how important he’s been for millions of fans looking up to him as the representation they craved growing up.

We don’t need to know more. We especially don’t need him to apologize about taking an embarrassing photo in high school.

“I think the first thing that needs to be said,” explains TikToker heyitsyvee, “is that the way that this information even surfaced definitely matters….There is a difference between caring about harm and using harm as a weapon.”

Let’s be clear: there are plenty of ways in which the “boys will be boys” tagline is used as a way to help young men avoid accountability, and when that happens, it’s wrong and shameful. But we can also acknowledge that young people do some pretty dumb sh*t, and that’s also a fact of life. It’s not an excuse, but it is context.

From the minute Heated Rivalry took off, certain fans have shown a total disregard for Williams’ right to privacy. This photo feels like an extension of that behavior. Few of us could stand up to the same scrutiny in an age when everything you’ve ever done is part of a digital dossier just waiting to be discovered. Williams’ apology should be enough, and for many fans, it is. But some bad actors are clearly dragging out the drama hoping to make it a full scale cancellation.

For me, it comes down, once again, to the heart, and I say this as a Jewish person very aware of the cultural climate right now. A swastika is not something to be taken lightly. But do the people freaking out about this photo really believe that Hudson Williams is a covert Nazi? Is one high school photo really solid enough evidence to support that belief? Or could it be a case of trying to dig up dirt on someone who’s having a well-deserved moment in the spotlight?

We don’t know everything about who Williams is as a person, but we don’t need to. We know what’s in his heart, and that should be enough.

In the past few days, thousands have taken to the streets of Albania to protest Ivanka Tr*mp and Jared Kushner’s proposed plans for a luxury mistake on the country’s coastline. For the couple—who have tried to keep things suspiciously low profile during Daddy Tr*mp’s second term—it’s a huge PR disaster that shows no signs of letting up. But how did we get here?

Let’s rewind. Back in 2024, Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama sold an entire island to Kushner’s firm Affinity Partners. Sazan, the island in question, faces the Albanian coast, and is now being developed by Kushner as a—you guessed it!—luxury resort site that no one asked for or wanted. So far, so normal. Kushner has real estate development plans all over the place, and much like his father-in-law, he’s looking to cash in on land developments in war-torn countries. But because Kushner didn’t just purchase Sazan but a piece of the nearby coast harboring wetlands and wildlife, Albanian citizens are now crying havoc.

The Kushners don’t look too good in the aftermath, but neither does Rama, whose sale of the island isn’t being taken lightly by his fellow Albanians. The PM stepped in it even further this week, after trying to undercut protestors by saying that: “The challenge is not to pour concrete over the heads of flamingos. The challenge is to prove that development and nature can not only coexist, but that nature and development need each other.”

Well…nice try but that sounds like a lot of BS. Sure, nature and development can coexist, but when we’re talking about protected species living in their natural habitat, you don’t necessarily need to pour concrete on them to have a deleterious effect on their ability to live and thrive.

That’s not stopping Ivanka from talking about how amazing the investment is on podcasts, and how she can’t wait to build luxury apartments there. She’s definitely following in her father’s footsteps: one thing about the Tr*mp family is that they love to pave paradise and put up a parking lot, sea turtles be damned!

But what Ivanka didn’t count on was being specifically called out in massive protests breaking out across the country. Oops!

Ivanka is learning that no matter how much she tries to stay out of her father’s business, his legacy will follow her everywhere. To that effect, Kushner’s real estate coup is being seen for exactly what it is: another Tr*mpesque bid for empire in a country that would prefer to be left alone.

How are the Kushners meeting this resistance? By fencing off Sazan Island so that locals can’t even visit anymore, naturally.

“They’re trying to Christopher Columbus Sazan Island,” explains reporter Bekah Day, referring to the classic white person practice of coopting pre-existing land and claiming discovery rights. But this time, it’s not working. Even though Rama has threatened that the protests won’t stop the deal from moving forward, even he can’t deny that the optics are not great.

Neither are the prospects. Since Sazan Island was used as a military base during World War II, it’s also home to hundreds of undetonated mines that could blow at any moment. Definitely the perfect place for a fun summer getaway!

The Kushners could spend the millions required to safely deconstruct the minefield, but it’s looking like a pretty fraught proposition at this point. The Tr*mps aren’t known for doing due diligence on literally anything, so there’s a very high chance of this whole thing going belly-up…literally.

We’ll see how far they get with this doomed venture. Whatever happens, it’s eventually going to make for one hell of a White Lotus season.

It was during a Q&A with Anderson Cooper after a screening of the wild short movie that Madonna said the word “video” sounded “cheap.” “It was good when it was just MTV and me,” she told the sold-out audience.

On Monday, the 67-year-old pop icon shared the 13-minute film which features green lasers shooting out of women’s crotches, a slew of celeb cameos including Sabrina Carpenter, Honey Dijon, and longtime friend Debi Mazar, bathroom stall hookups, sweat gay dance club sequences, and callbacks to some of her most iconic imagery.

Confessions II – The Film

Helmed by directing duo Torso, the film starts out with a lingerie-clad Madonna, looking not dissimilar to Louise Oriole from “Bad Girl”, mouthing the lyrics to “I Feel So Free” as a group of camera-wheeling storm troopers break into her room. They aren’t here to hurt her, only to film her even more up close.

As she’s completely surrounded, Madonna says: “But out here on the dance floor, I feel so free.”

We then cut to a futuristic forest where Madonna puts a twist on the “Bedtime Stories” lyric “let’s get unconscious” by proclaiming, “everything begins with consciousness.”

She then maneuvers throught a minefield of women sprawled on the grass emitting green lasers from every hole in their nether regions. Hate when that happens!

After that, we jump to “What It Feels Like for a Girl” territory as we are seeing the point of view of someone behind the wheel of a car weaving in and out of traffic.

The erratic drive ends in a crash as we see the protagonist make their way from the wreckage and into a thumping warehouse party as the camera storm troopers following behind.

Then with a flip of the hair, it’s revealed to be Julia Garner in a shortTrue Blue era blonde do and pointed black cone bra. Madonna yet again making reference to Garner being cast to play her in that ill-fated biopic.

Once inside the club, the celeb cameos start coming fast.

First we have Sabrina Carpenter joining to sing “Bring Your Love,” while Madonna gets flipped through the air. Carpenter keeps it on the DL by literally crawling on the floor of the club. No boy toy belt or wedding dress in sight though. Instead, her outfit and styling give “Girl Gone Wild” vibes.

Next up we see a long-haired blonde strutting toward a co-ed bathroom and then beelines it for a hand dryer that’s been turned up. Iconic Desperately Seeking Susan/”Into the Groove” moment when Madonna uses one to dry out her pits.

Only this time it turns out to be… Kate Moss!

After a quick glimpse of the stragglers in the bathroom, we see Kate again drying her hair as it morphs into Madonna herself. The Queen is decked out in a ratty blonde beehive and a Bedtime Stories era baby blue dress.

After hooking up with a musclebound clubgoer in a bathroom stall covered with Grindr graffiti, Madonna turns the place into a dance party featuring Odessa A’zion, Gwendoline Christie, Benedict Cumberbatch, Honey Dijon, Debi Mazar, electronic artist Arca, English footballer Cole Palmer, and Richard E. Grant.

Did we miss anyone???

It’s in this sequence, wherre Madonna makes reference to being discovered after a club DJ played her single “Everybody” at Danceteria back in 1982.

Saltburn hottie Archie Madekwe plays the DJ as Madonna slips him a cassette tape while singing the lyrics to “Danceteria,” one of the album’s new tracks. “He played my tape Everybody. This is how we start the party.”

There’s a scene where Madonna dances while being watched by Colombian rapper Feid as screens surround him.

The clip ends with one last cameo: the one and only Lourdes Leon.

Madonna’s first born appears as the ringleader of the camera storm troopers as she walks through as her camera-clad minions drink champagne, take baths, smoke, kiss, and engage in different acts of pleasure in a reference to Madonna’s too-hot-for-MTV video for “Justify My Love.“

Oh, and we would be remiss not to note the bananas, a playful nod to Madge’s song “I’m Going Bananas” from the Dick Tracy soundtrack.

Madonna appears on the screen and then Lourdes says, “Cut bitch.”

And it ends.

So what does it all mean? Who the hell knows. But it’s Madonna and one helluva ride!

In Tr*mp’s Washington, fraudsters always receive a second chance. As the most corrupt president in modern times, the convicted felon never hesitates to dole out favors.

For an all-out schemer like Aaron Schock, Tr*mp’s re-election represented a gold mine–literally. With a disgraced past, the Republican ex-congressman would’ve previously been unsalvageable. Once a rising political star, Shock resigned in shame after being accused of defrauding the federal government and billing personal expenses to taxpayers. Ultimately, prosecutors pegged the total of fraudulent charges at $100,000, a crime that could’ve landed him in prison for 80 years.

As the case dragged on, Schock moved from his home in conservative Central Illinois to bourgeois Beverly Hills. The former real estate developer went back to his roots and helped open up properties across L.A. and New York City. His most high-profile projects include a boutique hotel in NYC’s trendy Tribeca neighborhood and a renovated Hyatt Place across from LAX. A travel writer who stayed at the Hyatt was impressed, but said he had “issues supporting the owner and developer” of the property.

When it comes to Schock’s infamy, his alleged corruption is only half the story. The right-winger publicly came out as gay in March 2020, after continually voting against LGBTQ+ rights in Congress. He pinned his anti-gay voting record on the Republican Party and his religious upbringing. After coming out, he became estranged from his family.

Despite living a glamorous gay lifestyle–Schock was pictured partying with Instagays and flouting social restrictions during the early 2020s–the first millennial to enter Congress was also shunned from D.C. power circles.

That changed when Tr*mp began his post-J6 resurgence, attracting an even sleazier cast of characters than before.

Schock‘s MAGA makeover

Schock fits right in with MAGA’s self-dealing and delusional ethos. Politico recently published an exposé on his gold-plated second act, which involves racking up thousand dollar-plus tabs at fancy restaurants, international jet-setting on his benefactors’ money and promises of an eight-figure payday.

According to the story, a Florida-based GOP donor named Henry Sargeant III paid Schock $100,000 in early 2025 to steer the administration towards friendlier relations with Venezuela, where he’s an investor. To help manage the project, Schock tapped consultant Benjamin Papermaster, who initially pushed him to re-enter politics.

After a meeting with Delcy Rodriguez, the Tr*mp-backed president of Venezuela, Schock boasted that she promised him a literal gold mine if he could lift U.S. sanctions on the South American country.

To aid Schock in his quest, Sargeant apparently thought that Richard Grenell would be a natural ally. The gay Tr*mper opposes nation building and served in a number of posts during Tr*mp’s first term. As fate would have it, Schock already knew Grenell: they campaigned with each other on behalf of the Log Cabin Republicans.

In the lead-up to the ’24 election, Schock was one of the Log Cabin Republicans’ top surrogates. The gay GOP group stood firmly behind Tr*mp.

Days before Tr*mp’s inauguration, Schock traveled via private jet from Miami Beach to Aspen, Colorado for gay ski week. There, he met with Papermaster at the St. Regis Resort (room rates range from $1,000 to $4,000 per night) and devised his plan. A few weeks later, Schock was off to Venezuela’s capital.

Lavish lifestyle

Gifted with a sweetheart plea deal–federal prosecutors agreed to drop 24 felony charges against Schock in 2019–the scandalous figure never toned down his lifestyle. In the lead-up to his March 2020 coming out post, he was spotted partying with gay Hollywood types and making out with a guy at Coachella.

While that’s all fine, many LGBTQ+ people had trouble squaring Schock’s bacchanalian lifestyle with his conservative voting record. He voted against repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” but yet, there he was: flouting restrictions and whooping it up in Mexico and Brazil.

Despite the stakes of Schock’s Venezuela mission, the good times didn’t end. Politico reviewed his credit card charges and found that he dined at a fancy steakhouse and stayed at a 5-star resort. From March to August 2025, Schock accounted for $185,000 in business expenses, including flights, meals, luxury hotel stays and multiple OF subscriptions (because of course). Expense records indicate that Sargeant was paying, a claim that he denies.

Unsurprisingly, it appears that Schock disregarded the law. He never filed the necessary paperwork for his foreign lobbying.

“I don’t have friends”

With $1,000 dinner tabs at high-end D.C. eateries, Schock appeared to be back. But his slimy reputation still preceded him. In a WhatsApp message last spring, Papermaster asked Schock if his friends would “pay for his reputation repair.”

The ex-pol replied that he doesn’t have friends. “Lol,” he added. “Only users.”

His erratic behavior over the next several months would show why. Papermaster said Schock began partying at night and sleeping late into the morning, routinely missing meetings and calls. Papermaster said he quit working for Schock last fall, after he stopped getting paid.

Yet, Schock’s golden dreams may still be alive. Though Madura was captured, his regime remains in power. On behalf of oil companies, the Tr*mp admin has restored relations and unfrozen assets. Tr*mp now loves Venezuela so much, he’s mused about running for president of the country.

If that happens, Schock would be a natural envoy.

This past weekend, the gays were dancing in the streets at the West Hollywood Pride Parade, one of the largest Pride Month celebrations in the country.

As per usual, our community showed out with a star-studded march through the heart of the historic queer neighborhood, featuring floats from LGBTQ+ advocacy groups, local queer heroes, ally companies, our favorite gay bars, and… wait a minute, was that Johnny Knoxville?

Yep, amid the rousing celebration of the queer community, Knoxville and his Jackass crew were unmissable in the WeHo parade, flanked by Progress Pride flags, clacking fans, and a rainbow-fied version of their logo: the skull and crutches.

Since 2000, Jackass has represented a certain brand of unbridled male id: It’s largely cis, straight white guys subjecting one another to a series of pranks & stunts with a goal of pain, shame, and most of all puerile laughs. In other words, it’s stereotypical teen boy stuff.

So, what the hell were they doing at WeHo Pride, many openly wondered?

Well, for one, they were promoting a movie. Jackass: Best And Last—the group’s fifth and reportedly final feature film—is set to hit theaters on June 26, bringing the group back together for one last bout or pummeling, pratfalls, and poop jokes.

But this wasn’t just some cynical, thoughtless marketing move. Lewd and crude as they can be, the Jackass guys have always had a special connection to queer audiences, and they know it!

For the past 25 years, the series has reveled in queer culture and homoeroticism, with stunts that often find performers like Knowxville, Steve-o, and Chris Pontius in the buff around (or sometimes on) each other while putting their own bodies in the line of fire.

For example, remember when the latter put his d*ck in a sock and allowed it to be puppeted to taunt a snake? Or that time Knoxville bathed nude in a barbecue pool then fed the meats to his pals? Or, hell, when queer icon John Waters appeared in their second movie for some man-on-man fun?

It was shocking stuff, though for many baby gays, seeing them so comfortable with their bodies and with each other, even in the most uncomfortable situations, was a total sexual awakening.

And while you wouldn’t be wrong to wonder if there was an undercurrent of classic straight bro “gay panic” making these stunts all the more shocking, the Jackass guys were careful to never make the LGBTQ+ community the butt—haha we said “butt”!—of the joke.

In fact, in an interview with Vanity Fair way back in 2010, they made it quite clear they’ve actually been pushing the gay agenda this whole time (not to mention, they basically predicted their presence in the WeHo Pride):

There’s a lot of half-naked men in Jackass, and a lot of anal play and nipple torture and testicle touching. Is it possible that Jackass is at least a smidge gay?

Knoxville: I’m offended you just said a smidge!

It’s more than a smidge?

Knoxville: We’re over here sitting on rainbows and you say a smidge.

You’re a gay pride parade waiting to happen?

Knoxville: We’re a gay pride parade that’s happening! And in 3-D!

It’s not just homoerotic tension?

Knoxville: No, man, it’s all about release with us.

Steve-O: We always thought it was funny to force a heterosexual MTV generation to deal with all of our thongs and homoerotic humor. In many ways, all our gay humor has been a humanitarian attack against homophobia. We’ve been trying to rid the world of homophobia for years, and I think gay people really dig it too.

Sixteen years later, while their fight against homophobia wages on, it’s clear they’ve made an impact: There’s an entire generation of queers who now cite Jackass as a formative viewing experience, many of whom went completely nuts when they saw Knoxville & Co. roll down Santa Monica Blvd. during Pride.

And it’s not just the gays who were tuning in for a peek at Steve-O’s barely blurred out private. In a 2022 piece for Them, writer Nadine Smith notes there are many trans-mascs who “saw a vision of themselves in the franchise’s alternative masculinity,” while in B*tch magazine, Niko Stratis reflected on how, as a trans woman, the series taught them about resilience:

“Jackass taught me that my worth was not in ‘being a man,’ nor in seeking to be strong in the classically masculine mind,” she wrote, “It’s not strength that matters, but fortitude and resilience and the ability to laugh in the presence of abject danger.”

Not to mention, when you really think about it, the Jackass guys weren’t just friends or co-workers, they were chosen family—one who’d gleefully tase one another’s nether-regions, but a chosen family nonetheless.

So, if you’re lucky as to see Jackass presence at your local Pride in the coming weeks, wave your rainbow flag high. Those allies have been taking hits to the groin for our community for decades now, and they’re welcome to party with us any time!
