Master Chief is ready to make his very first appearance on a PlayStation console, as it's been revealed Halo: Campaign Evolved has now gone gold ahead of its 28th July 2026 release on PS5.

The phrase "going gold" means Halo Studios has finished work on the 1.0 version of the game, and can now turn its full attention to any updates and fixes it may choose to include in a day one patch. The Premium Edition of the PS5 remake bundles in five days of early access, so you can choose to start playing on 23rd July if you cough up the extra cash. It's an additional £20 / $20 over the base version.

Korean indie game No Case Should Remain Unsolved is coming to the PS5 on 19th August, having already received “overwhelmingly positive” reviews on PC and Switch a couple of years ago.

The game, made by Somi, is a “story-driven” narrative adventure where you must “piece together scattered testimonies like a jigsaw puzzle to solve a case”.

Build A Rocket Boy, the development studio behind MindsEye, is in hot water with staff after hosting a playtest for fans.

Over the weekend, current and former staff members of the developer protested outside its Edinburgh headquarters. According to the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB), the company organised an "extravagant playtest event" at great expense for fans to test new features for MindsEye.

If you haven’t already read my Call of Duty: Black Ops PS5 review, here’s the TL;DR: it’s a rip-off.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on PS5 is also a rip-off, carrying the exact same issues and drawbacks. It’s completely overpriced, the DLC is a separate purchase, and it’s a straight port of a 14-year-old game — you don’t get any technical enhancements.

The Finals has been constantly improving over its recent seasons, focusing on the new player experience and quality of life changes that make playing the game all the more enjoyable, and with Season 11 recently being released, I can confidently say the game is in the best place it has ever been – not only the newcomer but the competitive player, too.

After some initial confusion about the nature of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ single player mode, we now know it’ll consist of five different stories, each featuring one of the game’s main teams.

A new trailer, however, reveals each of these plots – presented like comic books with DualSense features integrated – will be drawn by a different artist, and there’ll be boss fights with obscure characters The Promoter and The Champion throughout.

Sources of Call of Duty fansite Charlie Intel claim there are more people playing the “bare bones” ports of Black Ops 1 and 2 on the PS5 than the latest game Black Ops 7 across all consoles.

While I haven’t been able to corroborate that information, it’s not a huge surprise. Engagement on the games has been through the roof here on Push Square, while both titles have shot straight to the top of the best sellers list on the PS Store.

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced sold more than two million copies during its first 24 hours on the market, handing it a bigger launch than Assassin's Creed Shadows.

The latest entirely new entry in the series recorded one million "players" (rather than sales) on its opening day, and Black Flag Resynced has doubled that in sales alone.

Santa Monica Studio has revealed God of War Laufey will beat the January 2028 deadline Sony has set for physical disc production, granting it a full and complete physical release.

Earlier today, on social media, the team promoted the San Diego Comic-Con panel it has planned for later in July, where God of War Laufey will star. I’m all for ports, remasters, and remakes of old games, but even I’m struggling to rationalise why the first Call of Duty: Black Ops has landed on PS5 in 2026.

A multiplayer legend of the PS3 days? Absolutely. It came at the peak of Call of Duty dominance and became a strong fan favourite. However, that was 16 years ago, and nostalgia can’t paper over enough cracks to justify a barebones port.
