A cat came to say hi today.

I was folding the pile of clothes at the living room and suddenly I saw this cat at the balcony. It saw me and had wanted to come in.

I said, “No” and it put its leg back.

It tried to step its leg across the grill door again and I said, “No”.

It did that for a few times and so I went nearer and bent down to have a closer look at it. He/she took it as a sign of welcome and had wanted to come in again. I just pat on its head and sayang it for a while. It came right in. I only allowed 5 seconds of it before I shoo it out again. I had to close the door window and it was still looking at me.

It left not long after that.

“Mummy, just now got one meow meow came. It wanted to come into the house.”

“You better not let it in..else it will come everyday.”

“No, I didn’t let it in…but I sayang it.”

“Must sayang one meh?”

“Yup.”

I feel like a human again because yesterday I wasn’t one.

7:30am – 2 something am. That was how long I worked. Don’t worry, I don’t skip meals. I had 2-hour lunch break and 2-hour dinner break because when I’m stressed, I really like enjoying my food, makes me feel like I’m still treating myself well.

I can finally put a stop to that after working extremely hard for the past few weeks, and working very hard since January. I still have tons to do but I will make sure I put my life back on track. My juicer, the swimming pool, the television (without a laptop in front of it), writing this blog and so on….they are waiting for me!!!

Initial plan was to wake up by 9 this morning to hit the travel fair but when I got up at 10 something, I just couldn’t bring myself to throng the crowd and I didn’t have the right energy and mind to actually absorb the packages that would be available. I have put that for tomorrow and I went out to join my friends for lunch and chat session, did some grocery shopping. I bought Korean strawberries. They are so nice and sweet, just looking at them make me feel so see-toh-beh-lei. (It’s not a word, it’s an expression in my own term.)

Came home and slept for another 3 hours. The most delicious sleep I’ve ever had in days. Now I feel re-energised and I’m ready for tomorrow.

Not going to do anything today, except to chill out, eat and sleep.

This morning while I was on my way to work. A few ladies were pointing upwards and the security guards were there too. I didn’t know what they were pointing at but it could be the monkey.

Last weekend, we were out having lunch and when we were back, nobody went to the kitchen so nobody felt something was wrong. Then, it was just me and when I entered the kitchen, the water stopper that belongs to the kitchen sink was seen on the floor. I was trying to figure out who in the wrong mind would leave it there. As I walked closer towards it to examine the kitchen sink, I saw a peeled onion on the kitchen sink. Something is very wrong.

I looked very hard on the floor and saw footprints! They were too small for a human footprint. I was thinking it could be a monkey even though I’ve never encountered one that entered the house. I called my sister to solve the mystery to ask her if she left the water stopper on the floor. She told me it could have been a squirrel. I don’t think squirrel has that much energy. I still thought it was a monkey.

I just left the thought aside and had wanted to do laundry. As I carried the laundry basket, I stopped again to analyse. While I was looking blankly outside the kitchen window. I SAW IT! A MONKEY. Happily climbing on the tree outside of my kitchen window. That solved my mystery.

I quickly closed the window and I’m thankful I wasn’t at home when it entered because I have no idea how to get the naughty fella out. As much as I would like to think this is the first time, I think this is the second. The first time, I had this unsolved mystery of my kitchen mat that is supposed to stay on the floor, to be lying next to the kitchen sink. Come to think of it now, it could have been the monkey too.

There wasn’t much damage done. I think it was hungry but couldn’t find food. What’s left open was the basket of red onion and garlic. It picked a red onion, peeled off the skin but didn’t bite on it. Maybe it smelled that it didn’t taste good. And because it was hungry and all it could find was a stupid onion, it went angry and decided to throw the water stopper on the floor. Does this make sense? Hahaha.

Pappy being the guy that he is, went to flip open his 4D book, looking for the page that says Monkey. I never knew there was such a thing.

In the year of the Tiger, came a monkey!

I have been working round the clock. It is so crazy, I don’t know who I am anymore. I’ve never worked like that. I can still go on like that but it wouldn’t mean anything. This week should be the last work I worked that crazy. I’ll need to slow things down a little next week.

There are so many things outside of work that is waiting for me to do.

There isn’t anything special because I’ve been waking up, working and then work again when I come home till I’m really tired and sleepy and then I’ll be sleeping like a pig and continue my routine again. I’m thankful I was able to get enough and sound sleep because it does make a lot of difference. I usually doze off the minute I hit the bed.

The year of the tiger has certainly kick start for me with A LOT OF WORK!

There’s this little girl who was surprised to see someone else in the office because it wasn’t a working day. That someone else is me. She was making her round to explore the workplace which is too adult for her. I turned around and there she stood, murmuring something and I just smiled, not knowing who that little girl belong to. Out came the brother and little girl asked him who I am. His brother had no clue as well and he said, “Why not you go ask Mummy?”

Their mother appeared with the little girl holding her hands.

“She was saying there’s a Russian girl and I was thinking it was someone else.”

“ She’s a Chinese girl, not Russian.”

Little girl took a better look at me, trying to absorb the Chinese in me.

Very cute and very funny because for all I know, I don’t look like a Russian.
