Results from Last Night...and Other News

Well folks, the race between Deku and Bellum was very entertaining to watch, and I pity you if you missed it. The winner from last night is Deku, so congratulations! Thanks to both Deku and Bellum for providing some quality entertainment.

In related news, Bellum is now streaming through Portal to Hyrule's Ustream channel. Be sure to stop by the forums to see him and DekuLink stream games live from their homes -- or wherever they may be.

Also, remember to set your clocks back one hour tonight! Daylight Savings Time ends tonight (thank God), so be grateful for that extra hour of sleep!

It's Racing Time!

Deku and Bellum are currently racing to see who can beat Ocarina of Time first. You can catch the race on the index page of the PTH Forums. Bellum's stream is on the left, and Deku's is on the right. There are some lag issues, but the setup overall is pretty solid.

Right now Deku's in the lead. How long will he stay there? Head over to the forums to find out!

Wonderful News!

Hey folks, Maedhros here, and I have fantastic news! Yesterday, I posted a notice that I was taking an extended leave of absence from Portal to Hyrule. At the time, a medical crisis had arisen within my immediate family, one that would affect my daily routine. The doctor notified me that I should cease all community or private projects that could interfere with the care I would soon be required to give. Today was a pretty nasty day, at least until I returned home this evening. My mother informed me that her tests came back negative. She's going to be okay!

This coincides with my promotion to Super Moderator, which may cause some of you to question my return. But I assure you, everything that I have said in the above paragraph is true. I did not return because of the new position, although I am very grateful for it. I returned because a potentially life-threatening crisis has been averted. I'll still be here for as long as I possibly can.

Thank you to all who expressed concern. I appreciate the support.

Alright everyone. I would like to formally apologize for me being gone for about the past 3 months. For those of you who don't know the story:

The week before my friend's birthday party, I promised everyone that I'd stream us playing video games all day. Friday, the day before the party, my charger stopped working. We still played video games and had a great time, but I couldn't stream, due to lack of a computer.

The following morning, I was able to talk to some users on the forums and apologize for not streaming. That day I promised that once I get a new charger, I'd stream the entire day.

And I'm a man of my word.

Tomorrow I'll be streaming a lot.... hopefully. If my new charger works just as fine. See, my computer's fan also womped out on me. Don't know how, when, or why, but it won't work. So I've been using my brother's laptop fan pad thing to make up for the lack of cooling. But tonight I found something very strange. I was workin' back on Oasis and all of a sudden, it says my laptop is unplugged. I check the charger only to find out that the plastic yellow part on the charger end had melted off into the port and hardened back up. Or possibly just broke off. The charger was really hot.

I don't know if this has to do with lack of fan or not, but all I know is that 1: my laptop is working. 2: I need to get this fixed.

Also, regardless of Ivan's health, I've been saving up for a new laptop. Windows 7 hooray!!

So I'll see you tomorrow around 10 am or so. Possibly 11.

Similar to my last update, a talented musician has arrived within the Zelda community. And he's incredible.

Our friends at Hyrule.net have unearthed an eleven minute piano medley of music from Twilight Princess. You can watch the video here. Be sure to stop by their site and give thanks for posting the video.

Not much else is going on in the world of Zelda. Spirit Tracks looms around the corner, and a lot of my correspondents are lining up for pre-orders. Are you?

A Few Updates

Well folks, I've been pretty bad on writing news stories as of late, but it's forgivable (hopefully) when you consider my academic schedule. I'm free for this entire week, so I'll be able to scour the globe to bring you the latest and greatest news. Not much to update in the way of Zelda games, as the only new thing available is the countdown for the Spirit Tracks release, which can be viewed at Zelda Wiki.

In related news, this lovely lady has been showcasing her uncanny talent for the ocarina by playing Zelda songs. Yes, she's good, and yes, she keeps the original music intact. Don't worry, Zelda purists.

As for the site, things have been a little weird around here. Deku's been updating infrequently due to a bummed-out computer, and the forums have been on life support for nearly a month. Get to postin', kids.

ZREO at VGXPO

Well I just decided to actually post some news. I wouldn't have to if SOME PEOPLE would post it because it's THEIR JOB here at PTH. T_T

Anywho, we all know and love ZREO for their amazing music, and awesome new layout. And for those of you who are going to VGXPO today, yesterday, or tomorrow, will get the chance to see them at their booth to listen to some bumpin' Zelda tunes. DOOO EEETT.

Also, things aren't looking up money-wise for me. So it'll be a little while before I can get my new laptop. Plus I'm gonna try to get it around October 22, when Windows 7 comes out.
