John C. Coleman Interview about 'The Nature of Adolescence'

The new edition of this successful textbook provides an up-to-date introduction to all of the key features of adolescent development. While drawing on the North American literature on adolescence, it highlights European perspectives and also provides unique coverage of the topic by summarising and reviewing what is known about adolescence from a British viewpoint.

John C. Coleman is Director of The Trust for the Study of Adolescence and editor of the Journal of Adolescence.

David Cohen Interview about 'What Every Man Should Know About Being a Dad'

When a man becomes a father, it can be a very daunting time. He is suddenly thrust into a new and emotional world. He can feel unprepared (despite the preceding nine months of build-up), useless (despite all the "uses" the mother of his child could offer him), and apprehensive. However, the new father is about to embark upon the most exciting and rewarding experience of his life. But let’s face it, no one teaches men exactly how to become fathers.

David Cohen trained as a psychologist and has worked as a writer and film maker. He set up Psychology News as a magazine which has since become a film and TV production company as well as a publisher. He is a father and a step-father.

In this interview he talks to us about 'What Every Man Should Know About Being a Dad', a Psychology Press book that provides a guide for men on how to be a good dad and a supportive partner.

Does our culture affect how we choose our partners, how we define intelligence and abnormality and how we bring up our children? Psychologists have long pondered the relationship between culture and a range of psychological attributes.
Robin Martin Interview about 'Minority Influence and Innovation'

Social groups form an important part of our daily lives. Within these groups pressures exist which encourage the individual to comply with the group’s viewpoint. This influence, which creates social conformity, is known as ‘majority influence’ and is the dominant process of social control. However, there also exists a ‘minority influence’, which emerges from a small subsection of the group and is a dynamic force for social change.

Minority Influence and Innovation seeks to identify the conditions under which minority influence can prevail, to change established norms, stimulate original thinking and help us to see the world in new ways.

<itunes:summary>Social groups form an important part of our daily lives.

Minority Influence and Innovation seeks to identify the conditions under which minority influence can prevail, to change established norms, stimulate original thinking and help us to see the world in new ways.</itunes:summary>
