The other night as I was meditating before bed, I was pondering what seems to me an important thought, which is how “taken care of” do you feel by the Universe, God, Source, or whatever you might call a Great Power?

It’s a vital question because the measure of abundance that you experience (and feel deeply) is directly and proportionally related to your answer to this question!

An easy “litmus test” of your sense of abundance is your answer to this question. Do you feel supported? Do you notice it? I hope so. If you feel abundant, you need nothing else. You feel nurtured, supported, taken care of, provided for, and relevant. You may have lots of money, but you don’t cling to it because there is an underlying feeling of security, which is the feeling that we truly want which drives our quest for money in the first place. 

Taking the time to notice your blessings, and to notice them so intently that you transmute your observation into a deep “knowing” is to feel taken care of, but the Universe, God, Source, or Love – whatever you want to call it. A palpable awareness of a supportive Universe is what we all seek.

Those who do not take the time to appreciate their blessings, to celebrate them, and elevate them higher than their so called deprivations, do not feel taken care of. These people, (which we all are from time to time) do not feel a strong connection to Source, and generally do not feel taken care of. This is the definition of feeling “lack” or not enough, or uncertainty, doubt, fear, etc.

So it could be said that what sets apart the “haves” from the “have nots” isn’t money, it’s just a decision to tune into the many numerous blessings of life (or to be oblivious to them).

So observe your blessings, call them out, play with them and send appreciation for them. Notice just how well taken care of you really are. Wellbeing really is the most predominant force in the universe, and the vast majority of our lives are going very right indeed. Failure to observe that and let it sink in, until you feel taken care of (even in the midst of challenges and struggles) is the hallmark of a true appreciator, someone tuned into  abundance.

Why is this particular question the topic of this specific post? Because I observed in myself that despite being a prosperity coach and teaching the Law of Attraction to others, I have allowed a feeling to “something’s not right” to come over me lately. It could be described as, “something needs to change in order for me to be happy” and now that I have this awareness once again, I can drop the need for anything to be other than what it is, accept the now, accept what is, and look around and notice how truly blessed I am and how well taken care of I have been, all along.

So please don’t think my intent is to judge or find fault. My intent is to lovingly help you gain an awareness to something fundamental to our lives – our connection to source, and to help you see that you too are well taken care of. Survey your situation with “loving eyes”, compassion, and gratitude, instead of looking to always quickly correct whatever you feel is most wrong in your life at any given moment.

So how well taken care of do you feel? Don’t be careless and thoughtless in your answer.   Answer with love and appreciation, and abundance will be in your heart, and therefore very real in your life.

And for those who read this and feel mostly struggle, you have my support and affection. As it relates to your challenges and burdens, remember, this too shall pass. Be on the lookout for perceiving more support than you are typically aware of, and it will pass more quickly, or become much more tolerable. Lovely, even.

If you read the news, you’re bound to go crazy. I don’t recommend watching or reading the news actually. The world can seem chaotic. Energy is moving fast, and its moving in 7 billion different directions simultaneously. In case you missed it…

We had a massive meteorite crash in Russia and scare the crap out of a million people. Then a huge asteroid passed between the earth and the moon just hours later. There were other very large meters too over Cuba that day. And we saw an Olympic star and Paralympic gold medalist shoot his drop-dead gorgeous girlfriend for reasons that are a mystery. Craziness, right? 

For grins, I went to Oregon for the first time, and spent all of 5 minutes there before leaving again (just to say I’ve been to Oregon). And then just hours ago I got word that author and speaker Debbie Ford (sister of my friend and colleague Arielle Ford) had passed from a rare form of cancer. Godspeed, Debbie. So what does all this have to do with prosperity? Well, though things can seem wild, crazy, and out of control, I want to assert that LOVE is in charge. Not Large Marge, but LOVE. And all of the bazillion daily events that happen daily happen because of the Law of Attraction loving guiding us towards what we are a match to, which allows us to see clearly what kind of signal we are putting out to the Universe. Everything is a mirror for us as individuals, and collectively as humankind.  Thanks goodness for that. What a gift!  Now permit me to change the subject…

“Whether you realize it or not, you have a financial prosperity setpoint that is determining your income level and overall prosperity level. I didn’t invent the concept of a financial thermostat, but it’s an important one that I want to share with you this week.

Years ago I read a fantastic book by T. Harv Ecker called Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. If you haven’t read it yet, get it ASAP and read it. It’s a great (critical even) book for everyone. In this book, Ecker writes that our financial lives are ruled by our “programming”.  Where did most of your beliefs around money, wealth and prosperity come from? From the people who raised, taught, and cared for you. Because you absorbed these beliefs at a young age, they are buried in your subconscious. This can make them hard to identify, but it can be done, if you are willing.

No matter their origin, our beliefs around money and our self-worth collectively act like a financial thermostat. We have a financial setpoint, just like we set room temperature on a thermostat, and though the temperate can fluctuate a little bit, the thermostat detects this, and then kicks on A/C or heater, which then brings the room back to the set temperature. I think it’s a good analogy. I incorporated the idea in to my Creating Wealth from the Inside Out home study course, and figured out some ways to help people set a new, higher financial setpoint. I will share one of these techniques with you below.

Most people are sabotaging their success all day long, without even knowing it, because of the programs they have running 24/7 about money, and about their own worthiness (or feeling a lack thereof).  It is not possible to be unworthy, in truth. We are all worthy. Every one of us, without exception. Yes, even YOU.

But it is certainly possible not to believe that we are worthy, and many of us feel that way. Feeling undeserving of good things is a major obstacle, and it’s not one that is cleared overnight, especially if we picked up beliefs around worthiness from our early childhood, when these ideas can really sink in and become subconscious programs that run the show later as adults.

Becoming aware of our attitudes, beliefs, and opinions, and assumptions about money is absolutely vital, so we can begin to replace them with programs that will attract prosperous circumstances instead of repel them.

All of these thoughts and beliefs collectively determine and create our financial setpoint, which is the income range that we are comfortable within, and it matches our thoughts and beliefs and expectations.

Like a thermostat on your house, if you get outside of that range, mechanisms kick in to bring us back to our financial setpoint, and that is why we experience setbacks and emergencies and seemingly random events that set us back. Or sometimes propel us forward, if we have improved our setpoint. The events aren’t the problem (or solution), our financial setpoint is.  Change the setpoint and things work themselves out.

My question for you is: Do you know what a financial prosperity setpoint is, and are you willing to do the work necessary to change it / raise it higher? Do you even care?  Surprisingly, not everyone does, and that is OK, too! I’d love to hear your thoughts about it and what it means to you.

That freaks some people out, including me, because I have become very aware over the years when I am not feeling good, and I don’t want to create a “negative” future for myself.  Keep in mind there really is no “negative” future because there is no source of negative energy, but we can interpret circumstances to be negative.

So what to do about it? Well the other day, I was reading some good spiritual stuff, as usual, and it had a question or two to ask yourself to help shift your mood. So I took the idea, and added a few more questions, and then a few more, and by the time I got done making my list, I felt really good. So I am going to give you the list which you can use as a handy “feel better tool”.

Basically it’s a list of questions that you can print out and fill out, and by the time you are done, you’ll feel fantastic and you’ll be back on track to start attracting positive experiences and abundance!

I’ve started to do this exercise every morning before I start my day, and it noticeably improves my day. It only takes about 15-20 minutes, which is a very worthwhile investment. I am calling it the

The Abundance Now! Instant Relief Tool

The stairs were next to a large water pipe crossing the canyon like a bridge, suspended about 25 feet off the ground. At the middle of the crossing, it’s quite a drop. The pipe is wide, but it’s no place for someone afraid of heights.  

The two boys ran across the pipe without thinking twice. No fear or second thoughts whatsoever. The father, who was about 50 years old, started across very slowly. I watched thinking, “he’s brave, but nuts to try to cross that pipe”. He went very slowly, inch by inch. I sat mesmerized, hoping I wasn’t going to have to call 911 for him when he fell into the canyon.

He eventually made it across with his boys cheering him on. He leaped to the landing on the far side, and raised his arms in the air in victory and shook his fist at the sky. I couldn’t help but to give him a round of applause for his daring feat. He turned around and looked over at me, surprised, and he shouted “it’s 2013, you’ve gotta face your fears!!”  I just nodded in agreement, and then they were gone.

What a gift that moment was. It brought a big smile to my face, and I said thank you for the gift of witnessing what he thought was a solo moment. And he’s right.
