Have you ever been sitting at work, staring at the computer, without a clue of what you were supposed to be doing? Well, yesterday was one of those days for me. My supervisor had just given me a stack of busy work to do, and i just needed a mental break of sorts before I could completely empty my mind enough to process such a mind numbing task.

Google is full of far too much information, and always intimidates me when I plug random words in, and it spits out hundreds of websites dealing with that topic. There seems to be an abundance of financial and stock sites.

What is a forex indicator? Pages and pages of financial nonsense and I still didn’t have a clue. Plus clicking off all of the ads for me to meet singles in my area was making me a little nervous. I will never be able to figure out how these matchmaking sites now where I am located if they can’t even figure out that I am not looking for love connection.

I got bored with doing that after about five minutes, and decided to spend time doing my favorite thing online: shopping! My husband and I booked a cruise a few months ago, so I decided to find some outfits for us for that, especially something for the fancy restaurant on board the ship. Are deck shoes really something that he is going to need?

My husband was looking for a new watch. I checked out the men’s watches but couldn’t find the one that was perfect. I located a tie that would look good with the new dress I picked out. I did locate a shirt for him to wear on the beach. Finding style on a budget is an art. The key is to comparison shop at at least five different stores.

Maybe I would make him cook for me instead… He has not done that for awhile, because our dining room is rather empty right now. We just moved into a larger house, and need more furniture to fill it up, specifically our dining room. The end of the the day really shows up quickly when you are searching the internet. I can say that I was very productive today. I did get all of my work done and I found several nice bargains. Maybe tomorrow I can find a couple of rugs for the bathroom.

A new project has been launched called YouCut. The idea is to get the public’s input on spending cuts Congress is thinking about. It was launched by House Minority Whip Eric Cantor from Virginia. Visitors can vote online or by text message on which cuts they think are best. Financial reform is a big issue these days, as the government is already running for installment loans to keep up with deficits.

Government spending more than it makes is a sore topic for a lot of people, Eric Cantor included. So he’s launching YouCut for the public to sound off online (sorry, Luddites) to get input on what the people think are the best spending cuts. Five new spending cuts will be offered every week, and you can decide which ones are the most egregious. The House Minority Whip is looking for the public’s input.

Simply go to the YouCut website. You can vote online or text your vote in. You choose from 5 proposed spending cuts. Simply choose the cut you’d like to see happen. For now, there’s cuts to the Presidential Election Fund, taxpayer subsidies for federal employee union activities, HUD research grants, certain welfare programs, and Community Development and Block Grants to rich neighborhoods.
